Smallville was a show that meant everything to me growing up in my childhood. Was always able to relate to Clark with what he went through in being an outsider, especially myself having a disability and being adopted. Smallville also taught me so much as all of Clark's lessons and what he taught really stuck with me and have hit much harder as an adult now. He had several great moments where he gave powerful speeches that really hit you hard. Tom may not have been Superman officially but he most certainly had the HEART and SPIRIT of Superman which was always so evident. So yes Tom has and always forever is my Clark Kent and Superman. Justin Hartley was also absolutely my Oliver Queen/Green Arrow. And he was most certainly a better version then Stephen Amell's on the Arrow series, who on the Arrow show has come off as a little bit of a wuss at times. Justin's Oliver/Green Arrow on Smallville was absolutely more accurate to the comics, with his personality, skills, costume, feats, arsenal and even hair color all based more off comic lore. Smallville was most certainly a timeless classic of a series that has already begun to stand the test of time (It has already had it's full 20th anniversary.) and is still talked about today and fondly remembered by so many. Myself included for all it brought me and has continued to give me.

Justin Hartley was a far better and comic accurate Green Arrow (even his raw abilities, skills and feats were greater than that of Stephen Amell's version) which is why DC comics used Justin Hartley's likeness as Green Arrow in the comics and made it canon.

The only reason Green Arron is in the show is because the writers and producers couldn't put Batman in it due to the Nolan movies at the time. Now, while I would've loved to have seen Smallville tackle a parallel coming-up story for Clark Kent and Bruce Wayne (a character who would've probably better replaced the early season dynamic that Clark and Lex had that was so great,) I'm so glad they went with Hartley's king of Queens instead. Batman gets too much of the spotlight anyways and they didn't try to just do Batman anyways with their Oliver. Their Oliver had the charm and positivity and even occasionally the political leaning of the comic books. Literally, the only thing he's missing is a bit of the gruffness, but the character is not a 100% gruffness like Amell's Arrow. So the optimism is the more important distinguishing attribute between Queen and Wayne. Literally, the only better (and perfect) version of the character is in Justice League Unlimited.

This was the closest SV ever got to being political and thats why it was great in 2001-2011. Now it would have been woke crap like most shows. GA was always liberal where Hal Jordan was more conservative yet they worked together alot.

I watch this show every year. Ive seen it countless times and i gotta say it will always have a special place for me. Such a shame CW is utter shit now. Cant have a single show that isnt littered with cringe dialogue and trash writing, influenced by SJW snowflakes and political agendas. Makes me glad this came out when it did so it wasnt plagued by this new era of sensitive cry babies.

@@martinacosta3821 Ive been watching it. Its a step up from Flash and Arrow imo but nothing can capture the feel of Smallville for me. Its just the time we live in now so its understandable. In the latest episode of S&L half of it is taken up by some family drama that has no bearing on the overall plot and is just boring to watch. I would rather wait for a single great episode that hits every mark than have a half assed one that feels like filler. Still a good show nonetheless.

@@icarusflys6856 You do understand that there were some SJW sentiments in this very video.
Smallville was not afraid to take a stance. I think why this show is good is because Clark is made up of the world, liberal and conservative views. Ollie was kind of a leftie, and some of the things he said would have made certain parties froth at the mouth.
I understand what you're saying but it is a little more nuanced is all

Superhero stories in particular have always had a ton of political and social commentary. CW’s problem is that they have a bunch of writers and show runners that don’t know how to surround it with good storytelling and character development.

Any great writing story or drama or just anything has timeless properties that surpass fads. Like All in the Family, The Wire, Westwing, Bob Newhart could come out in any decade and do well. Same with novels and music. David Bowie, would work in just about any decade as well.

Our grandparents followed the law, paid their dues, learned the language and assimilated.
To suggest today’s illegal crossings, or those of ten years ago, are somehow equivalent to the legal migration millions have embarked on every year, for generations, is to desecrate their memory and sacrifice, and to wholly flout our laws and sovereignty.
Indeed, ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country.
The first thing we can all do is abide by the rule of law, and not have the audacity to believe we have the right to flout those laws because we feel righteous about criminal behavior.
