- These two old Japanese weapons tackle the rainforest and rocks of Vancouver Island. One of them is about as rare as it gets for JDM imports. Not a common sight here, a turbo diesel Isuzu Trooper, but man does it have some amazing capabilities. Our friend Scott has built it out to be a weapon of an overland rig. Let's see how it does on some tougher trails.
It's hard to believe there are still wild places on this Earth. Yet taking to the backroads seems to always come with its surprises. This time, for us, it's not among the trees and mountains where we find the greatest surprise. This completely new environment is one that we've barely scraped the surface of; hardly even tested the waters. Could this open up a whole new world of opportunity for us and our adventures around the globe? Come with us and find out.

If driving the longest road in the world wasn’t enough, give yourselves 100 days to build a 4x4 motorhome capable of such a task.
Finally some recognition for Isuzu. Mine just keep going.
🙌🏻 such an awesome platform
Love it! Makes me miss my Troopers. I learned to drive stick growing up on our farm in Cedar with an 89 Trooper. Then later on in life I ended up owning 2 Troopers at one point or another. 👌🏼🤙🏼
So awesome! The square addiction!
Was kind of looking forward to some of that fish hitting a Smoker! What a fun video enjoying amazing Vancouver Island - still team Toyota all the way, and as always - much love 💚
I just sold an Isuzu trooper I spent 2 years building on. Was awesome! Now I’m on to the Lexus gx470. Older 2006 but new to me.
Couple of rad rigs!
Great Scott! That trooper handled it pretty well. What's better then one Scott? Why not two!! 😂😂
😂 amazing
That was an awesome adventure! The rock crawling was entertaining. We took our ATVs and campers south of there last year and had a blast. And next time we’re going to hit that wharf and do some fishing! Thanks for being our “Guia”. Scott’s rig is pretty cool.🤘
Thanks Murray! It’s sure hard to have a bad time out there!
Love your Adventures! Long time flyfishing nut & overlanding, wheeling has gotten us into some truly wonderful places to enjoy both. Hope to see more fishing in the future. Cheers
It’s amazing the places a vehicle can take you. More fishing coming up!
This is what I’m talking about. I love your wheeling videos. The yeti is such a sweet rig too
🤘🏼 Cheers man!
Fish were caught! We knew you had it in ya Mathew🐟
Haha! It was bound to happen eventually
Awesome video, thanks for taking us along got too love exploring BC
Thanks for watching!
What beautiful beast the Yeti is. BC ain’t bad either.
We have a beautiful world. I bet the air smells clean up there.
You bet!
That's what I wanted my whole channel to be about! Hints the handle, but I'm yet to make it happen. great video.
You got this 🤘🏼
We accidentally found the same epic campsite a few years ago in a rental rig from Far Out Wilderness, incredible views, your footage is great but still didn't do it justice!
When visiting Kenya I will host you your are my inspiration, I love travelling and seeing new things and people
🙌🏻 that’s so kind!
Unexpected epic💥 The best two words in camping.
Great wheeling content.
Cheers guys
Thank you!
Heading to PEI tomorrow I’ll keep an eye out in case I see you guys heading west from Halifax with Sunday. 🤞
such a cool trooper build!
Another Thursday Surprise - Awesome - Much Love From New England! ❤
Beautiful place!
🫵🏻😎👍🏻
Wicked! I’m living vicariously through you guys, watching your video while laid up after having foot surgery haha. Have you checked out Windy point before. If you haven’t it is an amazing spot. It was an old log sort that’s been abandoned and is wide open and perfect to camp and fish from shore.
Glad you enjoyed it! We did check out windy point, busy as well. It seems all these places are popular!
@@ToyotaWorldRunners yeah they definitely are during the summer season. I was last there last October while I was out hunting and it was quiet. I hope you guys got your rig back from the hostage takers!
I love that Susie awesome rig and another great adventure
Sick rig that tropper is
Agreed!
I grew up riding in the forest roads in my uncles diesel trooper in the 80s.
I think that is why the 70 series Land Cruiser speak to me because they look similar. Just something about the sound of a clacky little 4cyl diesel.
Something about these square rigs that keep us addicted
Awesome to finally get a breakdown of Scotts ride! Been following him on IG for sometime now so it’s cool to get an official walkthrough of the rig👌🏼
Ya'll are killing me with that Trooper. As I've said on here before, I've had a 1989 gas for about the last three years. That thing was a beast, but I didn't see it as the proper vehicle for my trip out west, so I let her go. With the back seat out, I had a single mattress in the back, along with all of my gear. She served me well going on trips of over 1000 miles and was great off road. Maybe I'll get another one some day.
great video, thank you
awesome episode
That Yota is a beast!!!
Does she have a sister?
Hey brother, I once commented to offer you a stopping point in Ecuador your way back if you were driving. I have a “2004” Land Cruiser Prado 95 with the engine you run in your shanook. Being here in Ecuador what can I do to my Yota for gains here? We are on a limited budget being a disabled US veteran and having that as our only income. Love you guys!!!
How great is living in BC!
Unreal!
Where are you guys 😭 hope all is well
You didn't film the fishing?? 💔 I've caught 9 species but none of them are salmon yet!
I've been a subscriber for years now and love your videos, but my guy your voice is one of those weird notes that doesn't like treble or bass speakers 😅 is there a chance you could get a larger room for the mic'd voice-overs? Or adjust your settings? I don't mean to complain, but I have to turn on captions for every video to know what you're saying. The in-action recording is great, it's just the voice-overs. Love the videos you both create, and it doesn't stop me from watching, just wanted to let you know 😊
Have you been up to the sayward lookout as well? The one road in a clip looked like the logging road dropping down through the watershed towards the lookout?
Not sure if we’ve been there. Added to the list!
Today is Friday Guys! Where is the new video? 😂 I was waiting yesterday 😊
😭 wish we were making content!
@@ToyotaWorldRunners everything ok?
Fishing hack, start fly fishing catch and release and you can fish until you drop!
Hoyne Appleton's finest is their best.
Where was that fishing spot off that dock ?
We don’t give out any pins of our locations. Check out Gaia or Maps.me and scroll around!
Who’s phone holder do you run on your dash and would you recommend it?
The ol Amazon special. We’ve only had it a month now but we love it!
Sooo…I know it says Toyota right on the channel name, but…would you be able to recommend someone trustworthy to work on a Jeep, in or near Nanaimo?
I can make that Turbo system better! If you ever want to. 😜
Wet coast
Wait! What? You caught a fish? No. I think this is fake news.
😂😂😂
lol
Province wide fire ban…
Yep, there sure is. We were using a CSA approved propane fire pit. And still douse the area with water before bed.
As Scott stated, we recognize the ban which is why we were using Propane.
Can't express your opinion. just keep it secret.
I actually don't like these old 4x4s, I find you end up with a punk fan level of self destruction, you get cred by turning up with the shittier version and it ends up with people aiming to get stuck instead of going somewhere. Taking care of it or opting for newer vehicle is a no no.
That’s too bad. Keep those car salesmen in business 💪🏼
You guys got a cool rig 😎 that’s it!! I’m gonna start looking for 1990 Nissan Patrol 4x4 or 1980s Mitsubishi Pajero 4x4. 💪🛞🛻
Heck yes!!
@@ToyotaWorldRunners gonna need at least 15k lol
