That samurai owner is a legend
43:54 minutes of pure cinematic adventure in 4K - thank you guys, again
Thank you for watching!!
BEST overland channel on YT hands down. love watching your journey !
Rad!! Thank you 🙏🏼
MIND BLOWING 🤯🤯 Happy 30th Birthday Matthew I myself just had my 69th at the end of August. This video was amazing the quality and shots were breath taking. The Chinook is a BEAST loved all the river crossings and you two always meeting up with a lot of great people on the road. Thanks for another great ADVENTURE Matthew & Stacey for all your hard work creating this awesome movie🎬 adventure. Can't wait for the next one. Thanks from Southern California. As always Stay Safe, Stay Healthy.
Happy belated to you as well! So glad you're enjoying the adventures, we love making these movies and sharing them. Costa Rica has all things we look for as overland travellers.
Costa Rica looks amazing. That bridge was nuts. Super pucker moment.
Absolutely! An endless adventure park
Wow, what an icredible location to spend a milestone birthday. Happy Birthday, Dude. The fulfillment of the gallop on the beach had to be even more special than it seemed on video. It's as if each country you visit is even better than the one before. I will also add that both of you seem to get more comfortable with your journey and your smiles continue to grow as you travel.
Your choice of conveyance, Sunday, is truly "la casa con corazón de toro". For some reason, I outwardly smile each time I see the roof pop, so thank for including that on every video. Sorry for the jumble of random thoughts, there was just so much about this episode for us, as viewers, to enjoy. Your joy is contagious and brings light to many people.
We really like that slogan for Sunday! ha. Yes there was definitely a lot happening in one episode. It felt like an odyssey on the last day with the bridge and the barge, sunrise to sunset. Thank you for the B-day wishes, and for coming along with us, Phil!!
Thanks for presenting Costa Rica to the world... crazy river crossing man, glad that a local show you the way... you can get in trouble but all good! Nice built!
Costa Rica is amazing!!
Living the Dream…Happy Birthday Matt ! 🤙🏽
Thank you!
Thank you my friend, I am Nica-american but never been there, but for sure you inspired me a lot now to go !
Not sure what you two are going to do for your 40th Birthdays but can't wait to see!! I remember driving the Monkey Trail 16 years ago and sad that it is no more but it is great to see Costa Rica protecting so much of its natural beauty. Another beautiful video highlighting the kindness of people that "used to be" strangers - I fully understand why they have no problem being so kind to the two of you, safe travels, and as always - much love 💚
SO cool that you got to drive it in its prime! Too bad it's all a golf course now, we'll just have to explore further! We are constantly left in awe of the kindness of our "used to be" strangers
Suzuki Samurai power all the way!!! That scene gave me goosebumps and encouragement to finish my Samurai engine swap. The best way to spend your birthday is with the stuff you like to do with that great person beside you. Happy 30th Birthday Matt.
Couldn't agree more! Get that Sami going!
I cannot believe how good your house goes through the four-wheel-drive tracks i What a beast
We love our off-roading house!
video production is top notch to watch
Thank you!
I'm surprised at the low viewership. Cinemaphotography is excellent! Your narration is great. What is your goal? If it's a documentary you narrate over then you're golden. If your goal is viewership then IMO you need to add the human experience. I've only heard the two of you speak really. In my travels the best part has always been the people I meet along the way. Your mileage although vast may vary.
One of your best ones to date, we loved it! Costa Rica is amazing, looks like a great country for overlanding. Looking forward to the next one. Chris & Ange
Thank you! We are stoked on what we were able to accomplish in a short time. Cheers!
Costa Rica was one of our favorite places. It's one of the few places we plan to return to. Arenal and Uvita were a couple of our home bases. So you have good taste. 😅
God, that suspension bridge had me trembling for you. You guys are awesome. 😎
Wow! I’m sad it’s over ! But your Video is so Awesome! So well made ! Such large cahones to drive over that Bridge! Thanks so much some of the best footage I’ve ever seen!11
Thank you for watching! We’re glad you enjoyed it🤙🏼 once we saw a local drive over in an SUV, we knew we had to do it 😂
Welcome to my country. God bless. Pura vida.
Pura Vida!
Every Video gets better and better... keep it up I'm living vicariously.
Guys are inspirational. Thanks for the great information. I cannot wait to explore where you have been.
Thank you for watching 🙏🏼
I'm from Costa Rica too, and I also have a Montero Sport 3.2L turbo diesel. I have actually owned 3 Monteros in my life. They were the best offroaders at their time. Remember the Montero Evolution and Dakar? History speaks by itself. I am always traveling to beaches, volcanoes and "jungles" within the country. I love to surf so I am always camping in the beach, and I still don't understand why do people love to overweight their trucks that much. I just added aftermarket elockers, a Robinsons suspension kit, better skid plates, and that's all. I have never needed anything else, even in the worst conditions. Not even a winch. Believe me, keep your trucks light. You don't need all that extra shit you think you do. Your tucks will thank you.
Thank you for taking me a long :) Mad love from the east coast of Canada :) FYI I had to look it up to find out why you can't eat a nipple fruit LOL
Can you eat nipple fruit?
Nipplefruit Information and Facts
Mature Nipplefruit is poisonous and should not be ingested. Unripe Nipplefruit is believed by some to be edible and cooked as a vegetable, but caution should be taken to ensure the fruit is unripe and prepared properly to avoid poisoning.
Haha of course someone had to cook it just to find out 😆
Thanks for watching!
Again thanks for sharing your adventures.
Thanks for watching!
This was such a well done and share of your experiences and worth the two week wait. You guys just keep getting better and better at keeping me excited from my recliner.
Thank you! We are grateful to hear that!
Amazing video! Costa Rica is one of my favorite places. Thanks for taking us along. Pura vida🤙
It's an amazing and beautiful country!
Happy Belated Birthday Mat!! Glad you Can over land with other travelers, I’m pretty sure you have many adventures to talk about 🤩 stay safe ❤❤
Thanks so much, Marcia!
Love your perspectives of all the different countries and locations within, but have been really waiting for your time in Costa Rica as it is where I want to live next for a year or so. Traveling there on September 30th for 10 days just to get a feel for where we would like to locate. Keep up the great work and enjoy every minute🍻
It's a beautiful country with incredible places to explore, we barely scratched the surface. Enjoy your trip!
The truck is a monster epic content
Happy birthday. It's great being in the prime of your life enjoying what the world has to offer. Keep on truckin, Toyota style.
Thank you! Will do!
Amazing job with this one!
Happy Birthday from back home in BC, thanks for another video. Costa Rica is on our bucket list for tropical seaside places to visit and this was more incentive. It was 7° this morning up at 5000' here so fall is in the air. Thanks again and safe travels to you both.
It is absolutely worth being on that list!
7 Celsius. That’s like 45 in real units. Joke! I would love that in Texas. Bring that on!
Dude awesome videos! And the music is killer...I need a playlist
Thank you!! Haha maybe when we have time one day
Lots of cool pucker moments in this one & the scenery was epic!
100%! It was quite the adventure.
Amazing job with this one! Great storytelling and drone shots
Thank you!
Thanks. ❤❤❤
I didn't think that river crossing was possible, great a local showed up and lead the way but still that current was pretty strong looking. Nice video pura vida.
When we pulled up we were also having serious doubts!
Lots of familiar sights in this episode.I will assume the deadline prevented a La Fortuna hot springs visit,Manuel Antonio park and most importantly Ziplines!Love the river crossings.Always sketchy!Pura Vida🤘
We passed a lot of amazing places we happily return to one day :D
Love to see the names of the places beaches and general camping locations visited! Regards great trip!
Happy Birthday, Matt!!
Thank you!
Impresionante!!!
WOW... EPIC ADVENTURE EPISODE!! GOD BLESS.💯💯👍👍🙏🙏
Thank you!!
That river crossing..wow.
It was menacing! lol
Wow... So worth the wait! You never did say... How was the nipple fruit😅
Wonderful video as always... Love you both❤❤❤
🤍🤍🤍
Killing it as usual guys. Living the "Pura Vida". 👏👏👏
Thank you!
🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
Panama 🇵🇦 is next I’m exited of seeing what you guys gonna do. I know pretty much all the off road groups in Panama let me know if you guys need anything. Keep up with the great content.
We will have to come back and get into some real off-road trails!
Those Pajeros/monteros/shoguns, are underrated in my opinion. After owning a 1991 diesel Pajero, to me, it was far superior to 4Runner from the same year. Hard to say being a Toyota guy, but yeah, unreal overland platform.
They are proper rigs! Definitely an underrated one for sure.
Beautiful ❤
All I can say. Toyota let's go places. Happy birthday. Awesome tv show. Roll on Landcuriser chinook.
We'll get them onboard one day ;)
Nice place.!!!
Hi Guys , from Victoria here . Wondered if you considered a snorkel on the Chinook but I guess if you went deep enough, it would flood out your home ! lol Beautiful trip and videos. Keep ''em coming! Cheers
Definitely have. Would have to be custom, and would love to have it made from stainless, Aussie style. Not so much for water that deep but cleaner and cooler air. For now the intake is right behind the headlight, so about as good as it get without a snorkel.
PURA VIDA MAE. COSTA RICA 🇨🇷
Greetings beautiful people thanks for the trip fantastic vista's, just shows how people from all over are willing ta help out ( strange how it seems that only suits want war an disorder) while those of us in favorite T's just ta get along
💯👍🤙🖖
Thank you for watching!
Waoooo just superb. Love from a traveler vlogger From Pakistan. ❤❤❤❤
Thank you for watching! The photos we've seen of Pakistan are amazing!
Happy belated Birthday old guy!! 🤣 🍻
Ancient!
Pura vida! AyA means Acueductos y Alcantarillados; the Costa Rican water company!
It's pretty awesome they do that.
I was really surprised about the colones in Costa Rica. It was worth more than the US dollar April of 23. Wasn’t cheap.
Pura vida 👌🏼
Honduras and Nicaragua? I saw some shorts on Honduras, where's the vids!
MITSUBISHI MONTERO!!!! that is what I overland in Spokane Washington. They are really great rigs with a lot of very clever things built in (eg the whole back folds flat into a bed by design). Still missing Honduras and Nicaragua, but so glad to see some Montero love!
Edit: AND A SAMURAI! THATS THE OTHER CAR I DRIVE!! both awesome and underated vehicles. What an amazing adventure!
We made a community post discussing Honduras and Nicaragua. We ripped through chasing a deadline in Panama.
Yes the Montero is a beast! Wish we had more of them in North America.
To rad mornings 🍻
Currently enjoying a shiner holiday cheer, happy Thanksgiving 🎉
Happy Thanksgiving!
Dude !! Loose the man bun 😂😂
I was just watching Dirt Lifestyle and he was saying that when fording creeks/rivers, it's better to head down stream if possible due to the tendency to float.
Conversely heading up stream has a tendency to push the vehicle down.
Indeed! As you noticed that's exactly what the little samurai did, and the current picked him up for a moment! I would not want to drive that one up stream!
Sick
I did costa rica pre covid for my 40th , such an awesome country to explore hey! loved getting woken up by the howler monkees at 3am 😅
Absolutely! Feels so wild
Buenísimo video 😃👍… sólo una cosa: está prohibido ingresar a las playas en carro, lo que sucede es que es imposible hacerlo 100% efectivo por razones obvias. Por favor consideren el respeto y el cuidado por la naturaleza 🙏. Pura vida 🙌😃
Great video you two. Did you record in Nicaragua? If so, where is it? Haven't found it yet.
We did, however it the video only made it to Patreon as we didn’t spend much time in the country due to a shipping date in Panama.
saludos
Oh no!!!
Our lifted Toyota can't pass the River what we gonna do? 😭
Stock samurai Chad: hold my beer gr!ngo 💪
your videos are so amazing!!! which engine do you have under that chinook?! you guys are inspiring me to buy one haha.
You should go back and watch their build series. They were determined and overcame hurdles.
We put a 3.4 under the hood! Yup, full build series if you're interested!
Vem pro 🇧🇷
Yeah what happened to Nicaragua?? I was waiting for the Nicaragua video .
Check our community post.... :D
Cartels around the world invest in Tourist Mega Project,,,,YAKUSA & Triads did Hawaii in 60s and 70s🏝
Curious what you use to air down?
RFX Truck Accessories air down tool. Similar to the ARB one.
What town were you in?
8:06 - 5 types of sea turtles nest on these beaches! When you drive over them it crushes the eggs.
Please use your platform to help educate and preserve, not destroy.
So, the former drone is the DJI 2, what’s the current drone? You get some epic shots!
We’re currently using the DJI mavic air 2s.
Every Day in Costa Rica is a Adventure… That’s Living…
Absolutely!
i see you've noticed our 3rd world country roads with 1st world country food and gas prices 😉... its harrrrddd for locals too!
glad you guys enjoyed our country, is this the last episode here? or more still in the next episode?
Hahaha we sure did! Was quite the shock to be honest. This is the last of Costa Rica. Our time was brief, but oh so exciting!
Hey guys! I live over in Guanacaste. Been down a few of the trails in the video, but would love to learn where a few of these spots are! If you’re keep where can I contact you guys?
Hey there, you live in a beautiful place indeed! All our routes are posted for our Patron at patreon.com/toyotaworldrunners
Wow.same in USA.$10.
$$$$$
Are you running a 20r engine, carbureted in the 76 Chinook? Or?????
No sir. 3.4 5vz-fe!
@@ToyotaWorldRunners Figured it was a V 6 - and man, what a beast. When you write the book about this adventure, will you include a chapter on how you built your Chinook? Just for interest. (I have a stock 77 Chinook with a stock 78 20r. It's the "William Clark."
Enjoy the journey, you two.
Ranger Don
Used to have the 2000 Toyota truck. What year is that? I want one
1976 Toyota Chinook! 4x4 converted
No Honduras or Nicaragua? Quick drive through?
We made a video and posted it on our Patreon. We didn’t have much time to make a film fit for our brand, so we created a different style vlog instead and gave it to the Patrons!
No Honduras or Nicaragua?
What happened to your trip through the Honduras
It was a shorter trip due to a shipping date, so our film is available on Patreon!
What happened with Nicaragua?? No videos??
They don’t allow drones , I think that’s the reason, the quality of the videos wasn’t up to there standards
They made a community post about it.
35:32 Nope… not me…Never… 😮
Haha we had some brief moments of doubt too.
Great content, love the journey and do believe i would like it even more without the goofy background music 😢
Happy birthday from your home province! Thanks for the ride along, vicariously enjoying every moment. While making travel notes… 🥾⛰️🇨🇦❤️
Thank you! Hope we can fill that notebook of ya!
27:00 how does a waterfall close? I know, but it sounds ridiculous.
Private gates..... Good thing for drones LOL
Can anyone plz identify that green 4x4? @ 3:49
Looks like a Toyota Bj45,Hj45, or a Fj45 wagon troop carrier 11 passenger. I would love to add one to my collection. Pretty pricey in the Usa.

You need a snorkel
👍👍👍👍❤❤❤❤❤🍎👏👏
Just finished watching. Very cool adventure! However you are definitely focused on your vehicle and it’s abilities to cover various terrain in beautiful parts of the world. Not so much beautiful parts of the world, but copious amounts of footage of the vehicle. I’m bored.
Awesome video, You two are so blessed to be able to take the Incredible Journey ! Safe travels to you both and that incredible Overlander Yoda 🤼♂️
Thank you! Cheers!
I clicked so fast when I saw a new video!!!!
Love that.
