20 years this year. Where has that gone? 20 years without this bright sweet talented woman taken in such awful circumstances. Sorely sadly missed but never ever forgotten. RIP KIrsty ❤😓
It always fills me with happness and sadness to see Kirsty this showed her sharp mind and her wonderful sense of humour love you Kirsty I miss you greatly
Thanks for posting this excellent interview of the mega talented Kirsty MacColl! I have most of her music and I am looking for the rest. She said the last name of what sounded like David Garza is spelled J-I-R-Z-A. I don’t understand. How could a last name spelled that way be pronounced “garza”? I found a talented “David Garza” on youtube. I found no David Jirza. Rest In Peace Kirsty MacColl!
Thanks. His name is David Jirza. It was the autotranscribe that was off. But I couldn't find anything on him either. She probably meant David Garza, since he's from Texas and she mentioned Austin.

The interviewer is awful, she seems so awkward and doesn't seem to know what she's on about. Kirsty comes across really well though, as she does in all her interviews
I couldn't agree more. The interviewer is just flat awful. Clearly she has never listened to Kirsty's music and knows nothing about it. She really loves to talk about herself.
"Why?" is the question so few people ask in life, and instead they keep going back to their shit situations, shit relationships, and repeating the same dramas ad nauseam. Fear, and fear of fear, I guess must be the thing
Another shocker.. Shane McGowan isn't actually Irish by birth or upbringing. He was actually born and raised in Kent, England to Irish parents. . affecting a stereotypical style and imposture which would ultimately serve as the basis for his career.. Kirsty was a great fan of folk music. Her father Ewan MacColl wrote "dirty old town" about factory workers in Salford England which would be covered later by the Dubliners.. . and r inducted into the "Irish" songbook. Kirsty and the pogues collaborated on a few occasions.. they had a very good working relationship and mutuel respect for one another.
Much like Shane, Kirstie was also an Irish person with Irish parents, but happened to grow up in England, and have a cool cockney accent and grew up that way

Wow. This is brilliant. Kirsty didn't do many interviews so one of this quality is a gem.
What a revealing interview. We learnt so much about the interviewer...
Yeah, you noticed that too.

@@VideowaveMusic She sounding so Irish in the fairy tale of New York, that song always reminds me of my first year in secondary school, happy days.
@@markant9534 Yes she is well known for that, although the Christmas tradition of playing that song is no where near as popular here in the States.
I miss her so much

There are others out there. Just keep looking.
I have only just discovered this lady she is enlightened and I find she is interesting shame she has left us.......
She’s amazing. Have you seen her on French & Saunders?
No I haven’t
I was shocked when I learned she was killed by a boat in the Gulf of Mexico.
the "justice system" in that country was disgusting when it came to prosecuting and sentencing those responsible
she is an amazing angel now she saved her son but it took her own
Terrible terrible terrible. May her sons have a great life.RIP Kirsty

Of course, that isn't KIrsty saying that. It's the interviewer that won't shut up saying it.
She was too clever for this time
Very true!

OMG she's BRITISH?????????? WHAT THE FUCK. O__O She has a Dublin accent in Fairtytale of New York *is disappointed now*
Don’t you mean English? As an Englishman I was surprised too.
