well tbh an organization like the fatui needs huge cash so it makes sense
Really like how much Pantalone and Ningguang seem to parallel one another, they're sort of mirror characters in that regard (Especially if Pantalone is actually from Liyue). Both grew up poor and destitute, but while one chose to use their wealth to benefit those around them, the other opted to use it to fulfill their own selfish desires.
Pantalone could be half-Liyuean or be from Liyue. He seems to share the similar traits as Zhongli and everything related with market but in more darker tone; such as good memory, keeping everything fair and balanced deals. Which is a fitting parallel for his character since he seems to show a grudge against the gods.
If Baizhu and Pantalone are not in any way related (and there doesn’t seem to be anything pointing to this, aside from their aesthetics), it’s a very very weird oversight on the side of the character designers at hyv. All of them so far have been very distinct.

@@SheerwinterWe don't know about that, for as long as we know, Baizhu is human.
And no, it's not possible to change the past, or at least very difficult to do so since even a god has very little chances to do such a thing in Genshin. Interlude Quest with Scaramouche proved that.
I always saw Pantalone as Ningguang's origin parallel. Both started poor but Ningguang focused on a "make do with what you have here and now" determination, while his came from his burning desire to find an answer to his questions; with his raging determination aimed towards the gods and their seemingly nonsensical handlings of all facets of their wealth.
It kinda goes to show how much a mindset can fuel a person to reach similar levels of power even if their means may have been very different from each other. I wonder then what the battle of the wealthy will look like among humanity of Teyvat, now that Mora production has come to a halt.

@@lkimberly2064 Not by much. Scara loathed the gods on an emotionally scarred level, while Pantalone's ridicule is focused on what he'd prob thing was hypocritical. The gods claim to care for their people yet would allow those without mora to suffer in their circumstances? That fueled a more productive/flourishing ambition more alike Dottore compared to Scara.
I want Pantalone to use guns as his abilities. Like the fatui gunners. And his idles all have mora. And passive the more mora you have the more he scales with attack and HP.

I think Mr. Pants and Zhongli are going to have some sort of confrontation, Pantalone's comment about money being the "blood" of the world in the Pale Flame set and Zhongli's line on the Geo Gemstone resonate too well for it to be just a coincidence.

by the by, Columbina is actually an American bird, family of the doves (mostly Latin and Central, connected propably to Natlan) specifically that has red eyes and pink feet, comes always in pairs when possible and has a specific dark tone on her wings when she launches to fly.

Columbina literally means "Little Dove" in Italian.
Columbo/Columba meaning Dove (Male and Female, respectvely), Ino/Ina being the suffix word for "Little".
I don't think it's related to the bird, althought the visual similarities would be a good shot made by HYV Designers.

Dark Baizhu 2.0 than? Even just dealing with Baizhu presents a darkness never shown or explained, only suggested. And not just by the snake.
In the artifact set, it talks about Dottore, Signora, Pierro, Scaramouche, and Pantalone … Pantalone seems like the odd one out, since he isn’t as old as the others who are 400-500 years of age … unless, he is?
Maybe instead of fighting Pantalone 1v1, he'll team up with another harbinger, and we'll fight two of them at the same time.

Pantalone is manifesting himself in interesting ways in this game. Did anyone else pick up on the fact that the knights had to go ask Diluc for money for some of the Weinlesefest stuff, despite the fact that Albedo is funding their charity efforts with his painting copyright? With the Fatui continuing to remain in Mondstadt, despite their business being concluded, it makes you wonder if someone isn't manipulating the Knight's funds as a way to weaken them to specific interests.
Since the production of Mora has essentially ceased, I feel like that has to play a factor at some point. It wouldn't surprise me if Pantalone isn't gathering up all the Mora he can to get leverage over individuals like Ningguang and Diluc, and also get leverage on the Governments of Teyvat. I don't think they'll go that deep with it though.
It also wouldn't surprise me if he isn't older than he looks. With Dottore being outted as 400+ years old, there's a high chance that Pantalone could be every bit as old as that. Snezhnaya didn't become an economic power house overnight, nor did they get the money required for all their insane plans in the last 20-30 years, which would be within Panatlone's natural lifespan.
It feels like hoyo is setting it up that the four recruited by Pierro were all discovered/recruited around the same time. If this is true, then it's also worth noting that the Pale Flame bunch were all alive before the cataclysm or they were born in the period directly after, when the world was essentially in peril. This could explain their eagerness to join the Fatui. Dottore, Signoria, Scaramouche (Not as Much), & possibly Pantalone all witnessed and suffered through the effects of the Cataclysm. This could be what fuels his hatred of Celestia and Morax specifically. Liyue was suffering due to the impacts of the Cataclysm and Morax/The Adepti did nothing to help in the aftermath.
Genuine questions: is it confirmed that there were four recruited by Pierro himself? Also if so how possible is it that Pantalone is actually the fourth one recruited by Pierro (unless that’s already confirmed)?
@@Crispyburntcroissant If you read the lore on the pale flame set, it talks about 4 of the harbingers. The moment of cessation piece is believed to be about Pantalone. In terms of recruitment, 3 of the 4 mentioned in the set have been confirmed as being recruited by Pierro. Pantalone isn’t confirmed yet, but it’s not a huge leap if he’s the one being referenced with the time piece.

War requires funding as does the success of any market. Finances influence politics and the growth of industry. To say the Archons have no use for Mora is to misunderstand how it functions as a catalyst. It is not merely a status symbol but a means of cultivating one's people. The fact that the Archons do not utilize mora is more of a statement on how they wish to fill an advisory role then manipulate their people directly.
Do not forget, Mora is indeed a catalyst for change. It can be used to fuel industry, to cultivate the land, to secure one's borders, to develop new technologies and in short to grow a nation. To suggest it is not the very hearts blood in war is to misunderstand how wars are even fought. Everything in life is an investment, especially when it comes to one's time and personal development, every choice a gamble playing the odds to eventual outcomes. To simply ignore this fact is to accept a static life in which you surrender your choice to the decisions of other's who may not always have your interests at heart.
However Mora as a catalyst is without purpose with no mind to guide it. Information itself has a much greater value and as such it is often the priority investment. See Ningguang as a reference.
In short if the Regrator is a merchant manipulating Mora and Information then he is perhaps the greatest Alchemist amongst the world. And I call attention to this specifically to shine light on the achievements of Alchemy has repeatedly brought the world to its knees and resulted in the deaths of multiple Archons at various times. We may never directly fight Pantalone but by proxy we will forever be at war with him, that's the danger he represents.

I really hope he does end up having more importance to the plot rather than just working in the background. Hes genuinely one of my favorite characters ever so I must pray. Some of my favorite theories I've heard so far relate to him being apart of the Hexenzirkle, I believe? Whatever ties back to Mona and Alice. Mona mentions something about astrologists who have lost their way at some point and can no longer see the stars or something along those lines during her domain quest in GAA. Knowing how Pantalone doesn't open his eyes at all throughout the trailer makes me wonder. This could also give him advantage when it comes to the market and such? Its far fetched though quite honestly but cool regardless. Another theory I really like is Baizhu actually being Pantalone's clone made by Dottore or the other way around. Explaining the partnership between him and Dottore, the similarities of Pants and Baizhu along with Baizhu being sick. Hope i worded this correctly and it makes sense lol

we know mora is the catalyst for all the reactions, so it would definitely fit his character that he can use mora for alchemical reactions that maybe can even make him stronger or stuff like that
Not to mention, The Wanderer mentions how he works really close to Dottore: the resident scientist.
I think it would be nice if he would be a playable character, and since his a banker and deals with trades and businessess, the most Krazy weapon for him to have would be a Gun.
I agree that we probably won't get a pantalone boss fight, but I just wanna go through a what if scenario.
I agree pantalone is probably never gonna intentionally confront us, but what if we back him into a corner? what if we beat him at his own game, scheme harder than him, until he has no choice but to fight us? I could see a scenario where we fight him then.
it could make for a cool moment, we think we've won after going through a bunch of mental gymnastics to beat him, only for him to unleash some crazy power.
but like I said, I agree that we probably won't fight him. there's 11 harbingers and the tsaritsa. that's a lot of potential bosses, but at the current rate of weekly bosses, there's not enough space to fit all of them, especially since that would mean not having bosses based on a specific region and exclusively fighting harbingers as bosses.
that is, unless they start doing more weekly bosses per region, but we don't really have any proof yet that they'll do that, so we can't use that as a reason why we'll get to fight every harbinger.
I’d expect crazy delusion powers. Look at Abyss Heralds. Now look at Pantalone. Same color scheme and eye motifs. And the artifact about him is called “Moment of Cessation”. Sounds like the end-of-world stuff that all talking Abyss enemies say.
So I expect an Abyss-element delusion, and probably a boss fight.
@@yYSilverFoxYy I think pierro is the only one who's gonna have abyss related powers, given he's from khaenri'ah. since abyss isn't one of the standard 7 elements with an archon, I kinda doubt an abyss delusion can exist, since they are based on visions.
since the abyss element will likely be a big deal, and considering its connection to khaenri'ah, it would be really weird if a harbinger besides pierro had abyss powers.
as for the similarities between pantalone and the abyss herald: the eye motif is much stronger on pantalone, and the eyes are shaped differently between the two. they're in the middle of pantalone's neck, while the abyss herald just kinda has them added onto existing decorations.
lastly, the moment of cessation, the fatui's goal is the same as the abyss order, dethroning the gods, so that description isn't really proof of him having an abyss connection.

Pretty sure Pantalone isn't a Harbinger just because he has a lot of money or a high ranking official. I mean majority of the Harbingers the Traveler met are pretty powerful or the very least, can fight back. He could have a power that can even make Childe look weak since he's higher in rank

I don't think we have to wait till we arrived in Snezhnaya to finally met him. Personally I think he would be introduced in Liyue in a story quest or archon quest or probably an event. We would meet him in Northland Bank or The Jade Chamber to deal with some matters in Liyue.

if anything pantalone raking being so low is amazing by itself, but i guess for all the power money grants (making countries implode from inside by proxy) it still doesn't match the strenght of magical beasts and demon "gods".
I will point out what i feel is a subversion of Pantalone in regards to what you said of the source character; the source saw money as the end all be all, but this one sees it as a mere means to an end. This is a pretty big difference to me even if in the broad strokes they end up doing the same things

Pantalone boss fight: Instead of an actual fight it's a game where all you have to do is win more money than him during a time limit
But honestly he is one of the more interesting harbingers to me because I'd like to know how much is he actually doing behind the scenes. Money can get you just about anything and the possibility that he and Dottore have some shady business makes me wonder how deep the rabbit hole goes. Is he just a manipulative businessman or does he have connections to some sort of black market? As he is the one behind the Northland Bank could that mean the bank itself is involved in any sort of shady activity? Could he have been funding Dottore's experiment to make Scaramouche a god? These are questions that I look forward to having answered

Theres no grounds for it other than the similar hair cut and their off putting vibes, but i really really hope it turns out Baizhu/Pantalone are clones. Or rather, one of them is a clone of the other. Just doing some shenanigans with our local insane doctor Dottore teehee! :)
And regardless of which one is the original, and which one is the clone, it would still work out, and lead to interesting theories on life in Tevyat. So for example, if Baizhu is the clone, why would Celestia give him a vision but not Pantalone? Etc etc. It would be such a fun topic to discuss if it was true.

I wonder what harbingers opinions of the Tsaritsa are, and furthermore about her role and the opinions and relationships with other archons. Seeing as Fatui fool around with divine (not to mention, heavenly) principles, her role in that, as an archon is quite confusing. But, then again, other archons seemed completely willing to give out their gnoses, and play along (or play possum in the case of Venti lol) so is it possible that the archons don't in fact stand to gain anything by defending the principles? But also can't directly act against them?

@@Orii-2he jacket does have a backstory actually, it was originally a tribute to the tsaritsa from pantalone but Yelan stole it instead and then modified it to her liking.

great video and i liked the information you put out! but i was wondering if maybe in your future videos u could add subtitles? adhd makes it hard for me to solely focus on listening, i need subtitles to read as well, and the auto-generated ones are so wildly off. like when u would say snezhnaya, it would combine with the word u just said, and liyue changes so leeway, and the subtitles can never pick up dottore nor arlecchino. also with the auto-generated subtitles in mind, it would make it harder for the deaf to watch your videos as well.

There are a lot of rumours surrounding Baizhu so it could be something.
I don't really agree that Harbingers are "based" on the Commedia Dell'arte. If we look at harbingers we already know, such as Tartaglia, Scaramouche and Signora, are they really that similar to Commedia Dell'arte characters? I don't think so. They have a lot of differences. It's just one of many inspirations for them. Which is why i don't like any theory that assumes that they should be strictly similar, and don't try to look at other inspirations for them. If we look at Scaramouche who is from Inzauma, we can clearly see that he has a lot of connections to Japanese culture, and Buddhism i guess. Now what's about Pantalone, i don't really know what to say about him, rather than he simply has a role of making money for Snezhnaya. I'm not sure from what country he might be, other than that there's an absurd theory that he's Baizhu, or maybe he's just from Liyue. What i'm trying to say, is that harbingers aren't tied to Commedia Dell'arte characters and can contradict them in some ways.
