When I was younger, I thought John was wrong for what he did. Now that I'm much older, I completely understand and I admire him a great deal for having the balls to do this.
@@Jchasser they were getting shafted by Malcom and many others. John realized that they were set up to fail in a giant publicity stunt and he wasn’t haven’t it. Second and less interesting reason is that malcom was taking essentially all the bands earnings while they lived like dirt
Then take it out on McLarren. Not the ticket buying fans. John just became increasingly egotistical, flexing his egotistical muscles. Malcolm didn’t suffer a single bit from this… you just got a load of disappointed fans.
This clip also missed the part where John is squatting down, staring at the floor and chanting in a low monotone "No fun...this is no fun, at all...no fun...", although it does capture his miserable introspective look out over the crowd, where he's clearly like "Man, fuck this. So sick of this joke of a band."
The song they were performing was actually called no fun. But it was very in the moment as he clearly wasn't having any fun and sid was clearly off his face.
#mayweathervspacquiao I couldn't care less about the fight tonight or boxing, but from what I read about it, and considering the viewing fee and all the hype leading up to it, this famous Johnny Rotten quote seemed right on point.
My equal favourite with the Bob Dylan Manchester Free Trade Hall one when he goes electric for the first time. The crowd all boo him and one person shouts "Judas" at him. After a brief pause Dylan comes back with "I don't believe you. You're a liar!" ruclips.net/video/PCGPhzWWgco/видео.html
@btj1960 Not really. The Stooges live shows were the stuff of legend and Iggy was already collaborating with Bowie by 1976. Did the Stooges top the charts like Alice Cooper or Kiss, no. Were they a massive influence on punk bands of the mid-to-late '70s, yes. No Fun, Search and Destroy, and I Wanna Be Your Dog were common covers. For example, Blondie was covering Funtime in 77 or so and there are significant elements of Rollins' stage persona during his Black Flag days which are influenced by Iggy.

Watching an ad for X-Men kind of cheapened the whole experience of watching this. So is the trade-off for having media at my fingertips...
The perfect epitaph for punk
0:44: it's that smirk that cracks me up. I ask people that question all the time.
Rotten was always so polite. Good night.
"This is no fun." He ment that.
This video is more relevant now that there is a series of them on the Disney Channel.
Wow, is it THAT VERY gig :) ? I think it was the very last Pistols gig back then, right?
