Hi! I leave on monday for basic at fort leanord wood, and was using your video as a guide to packing. Wouldn’t they just lock all of this stuff up? for example the I will be in there in the winter months too and i wanted to get the booties but would i even be allowed to have them?
That depends on your drills. Somethings we had to put away Initially and then they let us get them. I would put the booties with my socks and don’t broadcast that you have them .
And when you wear them , put them under your uniform socks ( because you have to match everyone else ) you will be fine ! All the best to you on your journey 🥰

Thank you for taking the time to let us in on all the details! I’m curious tho I heavy cramps on my period and normally take just regular pain meds, I think I will start my cycle as soon as I get there! Where and When can I take it for my pain?
You will have to go to sick call. I will tell you that when you go to sick call you might miss out on your days to complete your task … and you could be held at reception.
When you head to basic training same thing … you can go to sick call but if you miss too many trainings you could be recycled.
My suggestion is to bring a few otc pills with you in your bag. Remember I said all of the stuff you need for reception put it in this bag ? Place those pills in there. They don’t check your bag in reception like they do in basic . Another option is to have your doctor prescribe you Tylenol. Because you are allowed to have some meds “like birth control “ … and the med from sick call in your locker as long as it’s prescribed to you .
Could you comment the “degrading” things they woild say? Our personality are similar i am quite bubbly as well. But i need this to workout far me. I have nothing to fall back on. Now i am nervous..lol

It's a mix, I would recommend bringing as much as you can from home .

This might sound like a silly question but I have acne and use prescribed acne cream to keep it under control. Would they let me bring acne cream and would I have time to wash it off in the morning?
They probably would let you bring it , make sure you mentioned it at meps .
Now having time to wash it off in the morning is another thing lol … you have hit times so you would need to wake up EARLIER than the others in the bay.
Please how can i get those thick socks and glove you wear to sleep outside, and how can i get the lists. Am trying to get my stuff ready for camp

Can you bring hair pins for basic training ?
Yes make sure they match your hair color ( so not white or blonde pins if you don’t have that color hair )

Yes you can ( I did ) ! , I would get the silicone one from Walmart that way if you loose it it’s ok.
I know some people place them around their neck ( on a chain ) I wouldn’t recommend that because you will be running, climbing, crawling…

Can I bring vitamins
They would have to be prescription and MEPs would have to approve them.
They will issue vitamins to everyone one you get to reception

Yes, just make sure you can travel with it (unless you check your bag )
Does it matter about the color of the undergarments?
I would keep it
Black ,white , grey, and army green. Otherwise it might go in the trash 🥴. And make sure they are full sized ( no cutesy ones).
