You have an incredibly infectious personality. I am a 76 year old van lifer living and traveling in a 2019 GMC Savana 2500 cargo van. A little over two years ago my wife passed away and zi decided to become a nomad, something I have wanted to do for decades. I moved out of a beautiful home, got rid of all my furniture and whatever did not fit in the van was sold, donated or given away. Fast forward to 2023 and 22,000 miles later, I am having the time of my life. I live on two retirements and move wherever and whenever the the mood or compass swings in whatever direction. Rising gas prices slow me down so I move a little less. I wish I could live in a smaller and more economical vehicle. However, I love my space. Take care and continue your adventures. Best of luck in your endeavors. Aloha!
I bought a brand new 2004 Honda Element EX 5 speed manual and kept it for 10 years. I really appreciate the love they are getting now. Back then I got a lot of crap for owning one. I kept it stock and would drive up on weekends into the mountains and just camp in it. I loved that I could just park it, recline the rear seats and get in my sleeping bag and look up at the stars through the rear moon roof. When people gave me hell about my Element I would tell them "you know when I'm not in my Element I'm out of my Element."
Love the color! I just lost an artist friend who’s vehicle for many years was a Honda Element. It was blue, she wanted purple so she had purple flames painted on the hood and down the sides of the car. She hauled around her easels and art gear to teach and paint plein air. She was active until her death at 93.💜
I still see Elements on the road all the time, clearly people still want them! It's so frustrating that Honda made such a great thing and then killed it off with no replacement.
Buy the aftermarket westy style pop top.. but why would anyone think it's acceptable to crawl through the rear skylight to enter/exit the tent! Had the manual 06 and an a/t 08, tried to love them, even tried to camperize them, too many compromises. Good dependable vehicles but very light duty, depends entirely on your needs. You want a reliable van to camperize that has tons of interior space.. get a low mileage astro!
Anna, you were and are one of my original inspirations for going full-time in a van. I never got a chance to do the "summer of travel" thing in between schools like my buddies all did, so now it is finally my turn all this time later....seeing you return is the coolest thing! As you get back into the swing of producing content, I just want to say thank you, you are appreciated and you were missed....and your interests and attitudes are STILL a real inspiration! ❤
I hope Mango works out for you Anna. 🧡 If you fit in there comfortably, then you made the right choice. You'll love the gas mileage compared to the van. Love the popcorn... pop up... pop tent thingy on top. 😂 I wish you many happy adventures. May the road rise up to meet you, and the wind be always at your back. Off to uncharted destinations you go, may you travel safely Anna and Mango.
You just single handedly raised the popularity, utility as well as the resale value of the Honda Element! Now I want one! So glad to see you're well and back to creating awesome content Anna💕
I'm so happy to see Anna back!!! I have missed her videos - Anna, please please share with us your life changes, if you're open to it. I'd love to hear what changed in your life, and why full-time road life is no more. Thank you!!
Hey, Anna❣️ Mango is cute 😍! I think it's the interior high ceiling that makes it feel so spacious. Too bad they don't make them anymore. Stay safe and TFS🧡
Anna, I have a million questions. If you're open to sharing, I am wondering how you went to waiting for a rig to arrive from overseas to giving up life on the road to buying the Honda Element. Or did you plan all along to end living on the road? Whatever you want to share, I'm curious.
Your comments about the size of this vehicle are spot on! Whenever someone new gets in my Element, they keep staring backwards at all the interior space and roominess!
Hi Anna! LOVE Mango and so excited for you! Not sure if it is the same in the USA, but in Australia it is recommended not to put the solar blankets on the bonnet, it can damage the paint as it heats up, better on the ground 👍 Cant wait to see your new adventures! X
Saddest car experience I ever had was when I decided to sell my Toaster. I absolutely LOVE the Honda Element and have never had another car quite so fun, practical, and easy to own. Congratulations!
OMG great job Anna! Japanese car manufacturers; masters of space utilization, intuitive design, comfort and reliability Mango and you go together (dual meaning). Happy trails to you always. Craig
Oh, Anna, thanks for sharing! You're in your element! haha! No, seriously, I hope you had a good break from yt, and thanks for sharing all the cool features of your little car, and the pop top! Cool to hear that you're doing on the road stuff part-time! Again, thanks for sharing your journey with us!
I'm so glad I got a Honda Pilot for "Van Life" instead of an actual van. Its a good compromise vehicle which can give a single persona fully elongated sleep in the back with plenty of room for your gear, while when you're back in the "real world" so to speak, its not overly large for city driving and still gets decent fuel economy. A lot of people kinda get "stuck" with their vans after a journey.
I met a guy in 2011 while I was hiking the PCT. He used his to transport his music gear, and he’d travel & do gigs with his band. They all traveled separately in their own vehicles, and the storage capabilities were impressive.
As an on again off again van lifer having spent lots of time in the wilderness and never lacking in supply or lost, early this summer all that changed. I got lost on Mt. Shasta in 8 ft of snow without even a lighter (heavy smoker). Eventually I found my way out (without spending the night) and was 12 miles down the road from the parking spot. Nobody gave me a ride back up the mountain. My legs were like wet noodles. I loved my minivan more than ever that night. Thanks for the entertainment Anna!
Always admired the Elements and of course the Volkswagens as a minimalist rigs. So happy to see you back and looking happy. Hope you do an episode talking about your experience with the other rig and what we all can look out for if ever trying that route. Look forward as always to your cheery perspectives on travel and life! Enjoy the ride!
I purchased a 2004 Element last year from the original owner! I did buy new tires and in the last year made a few repairs, but for $5,000 and 105, 000 miles ( not bad for a Honda, right?) I m smitten, too! Prior owner held off selling it to a dealer as he wanted to pass it on to a real Element Groupie! So psyched it was me. If you pass me in your Element know that you ll get the three finger “ E “ hello. ( u can imagine: index , middle and ring finger sideways- I m sure I m not the original one w/this wave, but maybe!) Love the pop top. Ok, now to finish your vid . Rock on, Anna and Mango!
Hi Anna...so refreshing to see you again ... love the Element!! I've seen them for years..but who would've known they were so cool ... maybe Honda would want to hire you as a salesperson, you do a great sales pitch ....oh..your not living in it full time....that makes sense ...i was wondering about that 👍 Anyway!!! Welcome home...to your RUclips family...we love you ❤️❤️
Nice ride! Rooftop pop top tent popppoppo.....😆 Try saying that 3x in a row fast! Nice, I like it...Any way to add AC for the deserts? Cool ride... 🙏🙏🙏 👍😎👍
Glad 2 C U again. Love the Element , wow like that the rear seats fold up like that, Amazing. Wow the 12v on the H never seen any thing like that. That POP up tent is nice
I can't wait to hear what the transition back to stationary living was like. Sure did miss you. Hope you are doing well ❤ Is there still a boat in your future?? :)
Hi Anna @annauncharted, glad to see you back! I have a 2007 Element EX, but it doesn't have all of the charge ports you have. When I first discovered van life and conversions, I began researching converting my Element, but since I wouldn't be traveling alone (wife), I decided to get a van. I purchased a 2017 RAM Promaster 3500, already converted van from a private party and have made about 10k+ in upgrades (800 Ah batteries, screens, windows, front bumper & LED lights, extra countertops, 500lb drawer slide in the garage, wee boost, Starlink, Apple TV & Soundbar, auto-start & alarm, cameras, and more). We are not full time yet, the plan is to do so by 2025! I've loved following you, and hope to run into you on the road!
Good look with your channel and your Element. I bought a new one, manual, EX 4wd tangerine in 2005. I now have a 2010 EX 4wd. They are by far the best all purpose vehicles I have ever owned. Basic care and they go forever.
I love Honda Elements! I had one back in 2010 and one of my biggest regrets is turning it in when i stopped working. I regret not finding a way to keep it. I wish they still made them as I dont like buying used cars, so I dont have an Element! 😔
Good to see you posting again, Anna. I've always liked the Element. Very utilitarian for a small car. I would just caution against trail riding (if that's of interest). I recently helped an Element owner on a trail I was driving. They sustained some damage and were not able to finish the trail. It was rated 'easy' but required high clearance. But I'm sure you're going to have a lot of fun.
Hello stranger, long time no see, good to see you are well and doing the things you love again, thanks for sharing your adventures ,looking forward to new videos, cheers from Australia.
That is a really cool car, I especially like the pop up sleeper. Honda are really good vehicles, just keep servicing it on time and you'll get many years from it.
Awesome new camper! I’d love to find something like this for myself 😊Can’t wait to see your new adventures with Mango and hear what’s happening in your world now 🙏🙏🌈🌈🩷💛🩵💜
So cool Anna!!! 1) Glad to see you back caused I’ve missed your soul and smile. 2) I’ve always loved the element and am selling my Cherokee car camper and may do one of these next thanks to you. 👍🏻👍🏻🤗
Oh wow, I only saw the video you posted just 3 rays ago. Didn't realize you had posted a few others before that one. I'm so happy you're back. Was getting a little concerned there esp since your last video with Mariah! I hope you are still in touch with her too. She is dearly missed as well!
I love the way very simple, for survival situation is amazing how you have converted this vehicle, hope there is with shift gears! Well done! From Nicaragua! Excelente video, espero verte en otro video!
That is the coolest vehicle. I love the idea. Everything is ready made that way with the pop up tent. You can also get the pop up tent on other vehicles but it costs.....
Anna it's great 👍 to see you back You have a personality the others Just don't have! But take care of Yourself #1 and God bless 🙌 🙏 You. Bye the way he's there 24/7 For you! And will always ❤❤❤you!
What a sweet rig! I've been wanting a rooftop conversion since I saw Eva zu Beck's conversion on her Defender, such a versatile and useful upgrade! (Alas, no one has yet started doing them for the new Rav4s). I look forward to seeing what cool adventures you and Mango get up to!
Good plan not living on the road, it's great and all but can be draining . So glad your back at it, you put a smile on my face every vid. Car is so cool!
I enjoy how you discuss the different lifestyle transition and options that are available. I also had lived in my van and now getting ready to travel internationally so I need a different type of vehicle or maybe no vehicle
Thank you Anna! Not sure if I missed it, but whether Mango is a she or he, they, are in great condition for a 2009! It is like it has had very little use! Love it!😊
You got it girl bigger is not always better Beautiful complete car with all the trimmings Would only fit taller tires for better ground clearance for off road Have FUN and be SAFE
First of all, welcome back!!!! We definitely missed your posts.....I honestly expected you to take your sailing certification and see the world...but either way, glad you are here 😊. As a proud honda owner (accords and crvs) since graduation from college I can say I am most partial to them....keep basic items taken care of it they are most reliable. Also, the 2.4 engine is like sewing machine.....it just runs and runs. Here I am being a "guy" 🤓.....looking forward to more posts!😎
I can imagine a slide out kitchen and an L shaped couch/bed convertible or more garage space at the back. Really cool. This a really compact type of rv and I think is perfect for lone travellers who don’t have a huge money to buy something like a transit. It’s awesome. Btw, where do you reside now and what are future plans for the channel?
Welcome to the Honda Element club! Your 2009 EX is beautiful! We have a strong and helpful community for the Element. We hope to catch you at an Element meet sometime!
Haha you threw me off when you said Cannon Beach. Just clicked on the channel for the first time and was enjoying the walk through of the car and then you shouted out my hometown (Seaside/Cannon Beach.) It is a beautiful spot.
Hey! Thanks y'all for all the kind words and welcome backs on last week's video! Feeling very glad and grateful to be back ☺
So glad you are back! Love the Element
Nice ride. 😊
You were missed by all.>:))
Tell us about your life. Many of us are invested whether you’re camping or not.
So good to see you back Anna, you've been missed.

You're a champion.
I’m sorry for your loss and happy you’re enjoying life ❤
I'm so sorry for your loss, but I am so positive that she is proudly looking down at you for living out your dreams! Take care, much love.
I bought a brand new 2004 Honda Element EX 5 speed manual and kept it for 10 years. I really appreciate the love they are getting now. Back then I got a lot of crap for owning one. Who would give you crap for owning an Element. Great vehicle, I would own one. Hard to find one used.

It was blue, she wanted purple so she had purple flames painted on the hood and down the sides of the car. She hauled around her easels and art gear to teach and paint plein air. That has gotta be one of the coolest little car campers I've ever seen. Mango is truly awesome!
Honda needs to revive the Element with a camper conversion option! Can't wait to see where you take her!
I still see Elements on the road all the time, clearly people still want them! It's so frustrating that Honda made such a great thing and then killed it off with no replacement.
There’s a 2008 AWD manual transmission with 116,000km and they are asking $27,000 CAD.
Honda would sell a ton of these if they brought it back.
Buy the aftermarket westy style pop top.. but why would anyone think it's acceptable to crawl through the rear skylight to enter/exit the tent! That's a really cool little rig. Thanks for giving out so many details about it. I hope you'll be doing regular videos again. You are a joy to watch.
There GREAT CARS , IM PRETTY SURE THEY WHERE NOT MADE HERE IN UK, BUT SEEN ONE OR TWO HERE IN SCOTLAND, THAT ROOF TENT IS BRILLIANT, RESPECT
I hope Mango works out for you Anna. 🧡 If you fit in there comfortably, then you made the right choice. You'll love the gas mileage compared to the van.

Love the detailed tour.
Hey, Anna❣️ Mango is cute 😍! I think it's the interior high ceiling that makes it feel so spacious. Too bad they don't make them anymore. Stay safe and TFS🧡
I bought my 2005 E brand new and it's still my daily driver. Welcome to the amazing Element community 🎉😊
Anna, I have a million questions. If you're open to sharing, I am wondering how you went to waiting for a rig to arrive from overseas to giving up life on the road to buying the Honda Element. Or did you plan all along to end living on the road? Whatever you want to share, I'm curious.

The folding rear seats, where in the toyota previa in the 90s before this honda model.
OMG great job Anna! Japanese car manufacturers; masters of space utilization, intuitive design, comfort and reliability Mango and you go together (dual meaning). Happy trails to you always. Craig
That is a super cute little camper, I can see why you picked it. Overlanding, here we come!
I had no idea these cars were tripped or with so much!!! This is awesome! Absolutely rethinking my next car!
Oh, Anna, thanks for sharing! You're in your element! haha! No, seriously, I hope you had a good break from yt, and thanks for sharing all the cool features of your little car, and the pop top! Awesome to see you return!! Hey is Mariah still alive???
Thank you for being honest and thorough. This was exactly the review I was hoping to find.

I had a 2009 Element EX until this Summer. You will not have hardly any issues with the car. Ever!
I can't wait to hear what the transition back to stationary living was like. Sure did miss you. Hope you are doing well ❤ Is there still a boat in your future?? :)
Was wondering the same about the boat.
Hi Anna @annauncharted, glad to see you back!

And yes, i will be riding along with you 🚗
I love the way very simple, for survival situation is amazing how you have converted this vehicle, hope there is with shift gears! Well done! From Nicaragua! Excelente video, espero verte en otro video!
That is the coolest vehicle. I love the idea. Everything is ready made that way with the pop up tent. You can also get the pop up tent on other vehicles but it costs.....
The way those back seats fold up is amazing lol
Anna it's great 👍 to see you back
You have a personality the others

What a sweet rig! I've been wanting a rooftop conversion since I saw Eva zu Beck's conversion on her Defender, such a versatile and useful upgrade! (Alas, no one has yet started doing them for the new Rav4s). I look forward to seeing what cool adventures you and Mango get up to!
Welcome….welcome back Anna❤ missed you! Loving you Honda Element!
Looks like a great vehicle! Missed your videos and cheerful personality!🙂
Great to have you back! Was wondering from your hiatus what life change to expect. Looking forward to your future updates.
Good to see you back!!
Good plan not living on the road, it's great and all but can be draining . So glad your back at it, you put a smile on my face every vid. Car is so cool!
love your videos and adventurous spirit
Welcome back. Happy to see you’re back enjoying a good vagabond!
I enjoy how you discuss the different lifestyle transition and options that are available. I also had lived in my van and now getting ready to travel internationally so I need a different type of vehicle or maybe no vehicle
OMG, I want one now!😅 Thanks for the great video; love all the little quirks about the Element!
I used to have one of these. Great cars. Drove it all up and down the western US
Thank you Anna! Not sure if I missed it, but whether Mango is a she or he, they, are in great condition for a 2009! It is like it has had very little use! Love it!😊
Welcome back! You were missed.
You got it girl bigger is not always better
Beautiful complete car with all the trimmings
Would only fit taller tires for better ground clearance for off road
Have FUN and be SAFE
I got mine new in 2007. It's the ultimate professional photographer vehicle!
I loved mine! Had 200,000 miles on it. I wish now I kept it. I hope Honda makes an updated version in the near future.
:) LOVED IT! and again WELCOME BACK! SO Cool Mango indeed! WELL DONE and ALL the BEST and many more road trips for sure! ENJOY!!! :)
Nice to see you back on youtube !!
Mango is so great, thanks for sharing
I can imagine a slide out kitchen and an L shaped couch/bed convertible or more garage space at the back. Really cool. This a really compact type of rv and I think is perfect for lone travellers who don’t have a huge money to buy something like a transit. It’s awesome.
Btw, where do you reside now and what are future plans for the channel?
“Muy bueno” for sure…. Congrats on your purchase Anna 👍🏼👏🏼
It's so good to see you again, Anna! I'm looking forward to your new adventures with Mango!
I LOVING the Mango Element🤩
This is amazing. I love the Element pop up!
Welcome to the Honda Element club! Your 2009 EX is beautiful! We have a strong and helpful community for the Element. We hope to catch you at an Element meet sometime!
Wow what a great set up! I've always loved the way you're more connected to nature and the outdoors with these types of campers vs. a van.
Welcome to the Element Family
Nice to see you back!
Can you please do a life update? I feel a little lost, as to what's going on.
🌻🌻🌻🌺🌺🌺💞
Love Cannon Beach and the new Element !!! 🤍
It's very nice to see your smile in the morning an very nice new ride 👍
Nice mango with a pop up out top roof 😉 Would be great to see you do more backpacking trips.
Haha you threw me off when you said Cannon Beach. Just clicked on the channel for the first time and was enjoying the walk through of the car and then you shouted out my hometown (Seaside/Cannon Beach.) It is a beautiful spot.
Missed you and your bloopers! Mango is super cool! Many more features than I was expecting just based on the exterior.
