catch ledge is so good man, you actually have to flow kinda different in revelations, the hookblade makes everything faster & just a little more automated
i love the old games parkour, its little things like arno will run along a wall & then jump on the beam if its too far & youre just holding high profile, but with altair, ezio, connor, desmond, edward, haytham, shay & even aveline you have to input the wall run with a climb then side eject, the newer the games got the more they just simplified everything making you have less inputs, shit's still nice tho in unity, just syndicate is a massive step down & don't even get me started on the rpg creeds
How dare you not suckle on unity's magnificent tit! It has the best combat with swords bareky making contact with the enemy most of the time. It has the most realistically unsatisfying finishers. The parkour is so good looking and it does everything for me, the old games are so clunky and slow ! How dare they demand that i gauge distance, that I use the options they give me??? Wait, whats that, ezio parkours faster than Arno ? Blasphemy, i will report myself for even thinking this nonsense
Imo, they even started to "dumb down" the parkour after Revelations, from III, your character can climb almost any wall and reach grip points way further without the player's inputs
@@pamplemoussefurtif8220 Nah they just let you climb environmental objects in 3 like trees & cliffsides, but there are still handholds you have to find it’s just faster movement

But I do feel like there are way more climbable walls, you don't have to put your mind into climbing on top of a building as much as in the first ones. Like you just have to approach from any angle and start climbing and your character will easily be all the way up in seconds. Maybe it's because III and especially IV had a lot less buildings and high buildings

Very good video! Out of all the ezio trilogy games this is the one I like most for parkour, because of the hook blade which adds more options to the gameplay, and you managed to push this system to its best
I, personally, didn't care for the hookblade but I respect the fact a lot of people did. Imo it took away more options, or made things less predictable, than it gave in terms of parkour. Mostly it just made simple climbing up slightly faster in some situations.
This game and Shadow of The Tomb Raider gets snubbed too much just because it focused more on level design and exploration than action. Revelations is really good
Ubi used to have plenty passion for AC back in the day, that’s why all the older games are so good. Over time it just became their biggest cash cow because they released it yearly instead of giving it time, now they just slap it’s name on things & include minor story elements to rope in old fans of a game that isn’t even the same anymore, some like it tho & that’s ok
@@SSJ_Lang they were passionate but there wasn't really a commitment.even in the old time of ezio series,they just launched games years after year only with minor differences like hook blade and recruite system.intead of that what if they launch game like unity with proper commitment of years.what a game it would be.surely it wouldn't be profitable for them but it's nice to think about.
@@thenightcrawler6082 Eh you could make that argument for Unity too as it’s not as perfect as ppl make it to be tho it is a good game, the reason new games would come with not too much difference to the common eye with Ezio was because that was part of his trilogy of games aka his life from 17-52, Uncharted 1-3 are similar but very different at the same time it’s just a sequel with the same protagonist rule, as newer games did start to play different

So I recently bought it since it was on sale on steam(have played and completed it like 10 years ago or so) and I have to say... THE PARKOUR FKING SUCKS... I uninstalled it just because of the trashy movement in this game idk how I enjoyed it and completed it before. I tried to force myself to play because i just love the VAs and characters in this game but I'm sorry the Parkour is way beyond fked in this game.

I'm literally replaying all of them as I speak and I can assure you that they're all very good games. Of course Brotherhood will be the best for a lot of ppl (best gameplay and more polished imo, but I prefer the setting and story of AC II) but nah, all three of them are almost on the same level. And the hook blade does add a lot of gameplay mechanics (in parkour alone there are like 4-5 new things). Obviously it doesn't refresh the whole gameplay, it's not its point, it's just a little new mechanic to add some freshness to the perfected Brotherhood gameplay

You can actually feel that ezio has his age in his parkour but the hookblade make this parkour even better then ezio in ac 2 or ac brotherhood.

0:15 and 0:27 were the coolest moments with the hookblade.
Just imagine a game where you had a hookblade, a hidden blade that turns into a dagger like in 3, and the phantom blade
Wish they'd explain how exactly the dagger blade form 3 works, is it locked in one position, does it detach from the wrist gauntlet e.t.c., it seems like something that's cool but highly imprcatical if done realistically.
It detatches from the bracer & can be reattached, the bottom of it has a grip to avoid cutting your hand
