An awesome character, wonderful storyteller, and a man’s man! Totally agree with what he says about today’s footballers. RIP Tommy.

Superb after dinner speaker. Better than most comedians. Not sure whether id lend him a £1000 but who cares. Winning the 1977 FA Cup Final can never be taken away from this man. Fielding a team with Buchan, Daly, McIlroy, Hill, Coppell, Pearson and Greenoff x 2 cannot ever b taken away from him. HE stopped Liverpool from becoming the first English team to ever win The Treble ensuring that when United did win it in 1999 they were the first, just as they were the first English side to win The European Cup !!!

1977 was the end of an era. Leeds showed they were a spent force; United sacked the Doc; Liverpool won the European Cup to show not only United could do it; Keegan left England; and Clough got back into the First Division.

When you listen to Tommy and look back at how much sense he talked tou realise that football is so much poorer without him around. One of football's greatest

Typical Glasgow patter and never lost the accent, must have had his dressing rooms rolling about, Football needs guys like the Doc so much but sadly we are losing his kind all too quick.
