Thanks so much for doing this one guys, been requesting for a very long time and wasn't disappointed with the result. Glad the casino is getting some love on the channel too!
Recently I thought that you could try to collect rigs that would be good for a specific genre on three diffrent budgets: really cheap/ begginner, medium price/ mediocore, expensive/ pro. For example 1000£, 2250£ and 4000£? You could try to find guitars, amps and pedals for genres like Indie, metal, punk etc. Think about it, love your videos! Cheers
Toothpastman I don’t even think there should be a cap off limit when it comes to the “expensive/ pro” tier. Just make that category limitless. Nonetheless, I like your idea. Still think they should keep the “sound like” series as well tho
Sounds like my ex: LP with 5 humbuckers and shitty tremolo 10 x Big muff on max 2 sub octaves Long echo delay Reverse reverb Never ending looper 1000 watt tube amp Wall of full 4x12 stacks No ear plugs No noise gate No tuner Thanks!
Well, I watched this video like I do every week. It was another artist I'd never heard of like that Biffy crying band or whatever so I thought it would suck but I really enjoy the videos so I thought I'd suffer through the the music. Instead I found a new artist to listen to and absolutely love his tone and dirty old blues style!!! Thank you guys!!! I have a new artist to listen too, great job!!!
Townshend was a registered sex offender, but it's a fact he was never found in any possession of child porn. Consider this, guys like Chuck Berry, Elvis, Jimmy Page, Jerry Lee Lewis, Bowie, Bill Wyman, Iggy Pop, are known to have had actual sexual relationships with girls as young as 13 years old... are they not sex offenders too? And those are probably just the tip of the iceberg, I bet there are a thousand more.
Read his biography. He was naïvely researching trying to make a case for abused children because he was abused in his childhood as well and wanted to prove that a bank was taking the money. He never viewed any images and was just on the home pages. All he wanted was to make a statement and write a book about how online banks, browser companies, and big time pornographers were complicit in that they were earning a profit from that shit
Love this series. Here are a couple sounds I'd love to see you guys tackle: Rob Baker - The Tragically Hip Nameless Ghoul(s) - Ghost Ian D'Sa - Billy Talent Joel O'Keefe - Airbourne Keep up the good work guys!
Hey - i too called for this - but on second thoughts i'm not sure the rig could even be attempted on a £1500 budget. Similar to muse where the pedal requirements and options lead to a pretty unsatisfactory end result on a budget. What do you think?
AfternoonConcession Oh the prince one would taken down so fast by his estate, I'm surprised the Hendrix estate (specifically Janie "Hendrix") hasn't asked Andertons to take any/all videos down yet
great job guys!. for anyone interested.. The bassbreaker 18/30 is a good option too. the 18 watt channel is based on a brown face tone thats very close to a vibro king.
I've been waiting very long for this one! Sounded pretty close, lacking a bit of bass end, but that kind of tone requires cranking the amp impractically loud. Worth a by busting!
I had an IBJL Casino for a while. It was amazing, 50's style satin neck, amazing sounding Gibson USA P-90s... until the 9th fret or so. Then, bam, no upper neck access.
I can't believe I missed this one. I've been a Gary Clark Jr. fan since I saw him on Guitar Center Sessions years back. Unfortunately, I haven't stayed current with him, but I bought his Blak and Blu album, (and I heard the Healing.) Great sounds guys! 🤘🤘🤘
Parker lol you would have to do a WITH busting the bank on that one. But, if you were doing a without busting the bank: Peavey Classic 30 Humbuckers with low wind- epi LP Jupiter fuzz Carbon Copy TS808 MXR reverb And just dial the Classic 30 with the mids up, bass up and low treble. You can get the lead tone like that, I used to do it all the time before I got a Mesa Boogie
A thought - completely love the sounds like series - but would be amazing if for each playing section you launch into to play a track you put up photos of the settings of each component. Any way keep up great work x
Really good video!! I love the Casino. It sounds great clean and with fuzz/distortion. The natural feedback from the hollow body is great Unfortunately, Gary has been abandoning the Casino that last couple of years in favor of a reissue Gibson SG that Pat Smear gave him as a gift.
EVH Wolfgang with a floyd rose, Marshall DSL40 or 15 depending on budget, MXR Phase 90, EVH 5150 overdrive and probably a wah cos he has a signature wah but it's not in stock at andertons and it's £100+ so it might rinse budget EVH Wolfgang - £422 Marshall DSL40C - £500 MXR EVH 5150 Overdrive - £196 MXR Phase 90 - £97 Boss DD3 Delay - £115 Boss RV6 Reverb - £130 grand total - £1460
I gots ta gots ta gots ta have: + Nuno Bettencourt, Extreme II - Extreme III era. + Kim Thayil, Soundgarden (Badmotorfinger and newer, esp Rusty Cage, Outshined, JCP, Black Hole Sun) ...please?
I've been watching your channel for awhile now, and it'd be great if you could please do a sounds like of The Outlaws and Black Stone Cherry. Thanks for the vids!
IMPORTANT FOR THOSE WATCHING: the Octo Puss is meant to operate with a buffer before it. it can be used without one, but operates best with a buffered signal.
I have a Epiphone Casino 339 and I put the dog ear P90s on my red Jay Turner 335. I think that the full size is a tad cooler. I may put the trapeze tail on it or a Japanese type bigsby. The 339 from Epiphone is a great guitar. I have the original Hot Rod Deluxe. I can't play like Gary but I love trying.
Aexilius because maybe their music is good? Saw them support Royal Blood once and wasn't a fan but gave them a listen and absolutely love them now. Maybe you should try again dude...
Aexilius Yo we all have our different tastes so if you don't like them then don't even worry, I'm just thinking they'd make for a wicked video because it gives Bea a chance to whip out his metal style playing which he enjoys, and it should be a challenge because Jack Bottomley plays Alpher guitars with a bunch of effects and I just thought it would be cool to see what the boys came up with, but yeah man if you don't like them then who cares music is about listening to something you enjoy, I bet there's someone you listen to that I don't but I wouldn't call you out on it, let's just keep these comments chill😂
Ben Bryan Don't worry bro, I'm was just wondering why. But if the guitarist does have a rig like that, I'd understand you would like to see a sounds like episode dedicated to him
Just bust the bank! I like seeing what the actual artist uses, or at least some gear replica that is very close to it rather than a 15 quid budget thing. Not to take anything away from that, but us gear nerds can pretty much guess what that set up is going to be for the most part before you even do the video. Epiphone/Squire/Gretsch/ etc. With a Fender/Egnater/Blackstar/Marshall DSL 40, lol. Had to get that one in there! Any way not squawking, don't get me wrong. Love the videos but really enjoy and find the BY busting the bank vids as entertaining but also very interesting from the standpoint of learning about what the artists actual rig consists of! Thanks, and happy video creating!
Great video, guys! I think you got pretty close for most of the tones. "When my train pulls in" and "travis county blues" sounded really great but I think they were just a bit too saturated. Though I think "numb," while it sounded great on your interpretation, missed the sound a bit. Your interpretation sounded just a bit too thin, you absolutely nailed the super compressed feel, but it sounded like there was either just a bit too much treble or not enough bass. I've got a fender excelsior and when I crank the volume it produces a pretty great "numb" sound. It's got a 15" speaker for low end, but the amp is being pushed and cranked to the max so it has that super spitty/compressed sound. Love the vids!
J Mascis jazzmaster, vox ac15, and a multi fx. Maybe throw in a fuzzface for good measure to nail the fuzz on their earlier stuff, and a line selector into a DI for the Fuzz.
Nice work fellas! Any chance you can sound like Dickey Betts or Duane Allman from the ABB? Would love to hear Rab play some of these classic tunes. Would prefer not to bust the bank, as the typical advice for getting tone like this is hum bucker into dimes plexi head I am thinking Jessica, Blue Sky, Revival... Cheers!
I'd like to see a bit more discussion on why the choices were made, if possible - would be interesting when making purchasing decisions. For example - in the case - you mentioned you were tight on budget for the pedals. So why not Blues Junior, and leave more to spend on then - as £760 is a big chunk of the budget to spend on the amp. What does the HRD give you that the Blues Junior wouldn't?
Yes! So into Gary Clark's sound. I bought an Octafuzz after seeing it on his board. Great work, guys!
Thanks so much for doing this one guys, been requesting for a very long time and wasn't disappointed with the result. Glad the casino is getting some love on the channel too!
You should do another Sound like Eric Clapton but focus on the Cream era with a Gibson guitar etc
Thanks Matthew and Rabea for doing Gary Clark jr... One of the artists I've requested, so even better!
Been waiting so long for this!
Calum Martin Me too man haha
I know! I clicked on this so fast!
Same
yet a little disappointed in the hot rod deluxe as the amp choice. just me though.
The same, I would try a Princeton.
Recently I thought that you could try to collect rigs that would be good for a specific genre on three diffrent budgets: really cheap/ begginner, medium price/ mediocore, expensive/ pro. Gary is great! He also occasionally plays a tele and recently switched to an SG as his main guitar. King Zapata, his rhythm guy, is great too!
Saw Gary Saturday night at the Stone Pony in Asbury Park New Jersey.. A MUST SEE.. Permanent Goosebumps
Sound like Rabea Massaad with the cheapest gear you can find.
Excellent job! Some great tones in that rig! Well played as always Rabea!
Sounds like my ex:
LP with 5 humbuckers and shitty tremolo
10 x Big muff on max
2 sub octaves
Long echo delay
Reverse reverb
Never ending looper
1000 watt tube amp
Wall of full 4x12 stacks
No ear plugs
No noise gate
No tuner
Thanks!
František Vtelenský and always out of tune
Fabien Dolan ...but acting like she is in!
František Vtelenský it's also a really overpriced rig.
Fabien Dolan Yeah! And she never use volume knobs properly! Still on max... no sense for tone.
František Vtelenský gain on maximum
Yesss, thank you, one of my favourite guitarists
Sounds like Sleep or Electric Wizard would be the absolute shit! Need some real Stoner Doom on here finally.
Definitely need a proper, ridiculously heavy stoner metal band. My vote is for Electric WIzard, just because it's so over the top and awesome.
Thomas Carmichael YES, THIS.
Thomas Carmichael holy crap this so much. I'd love a sounds like sleep/Matt pike vid. or eletric wizard. either would be awesome.
Heh, I just started looking into stoner metal earlier tonight. I was thinking of starting with Sleep's Holy Mountain; any recommendations?
Thomas Carmichael Boss Hyper fuzz. Done
Well, I watched this video like I do every week. Pete Townshend would be nice!
Renārs Ozols YES
With Entwistle bass sounds too

Yeah... sure he was.
You got bright lights and when my train pulls in spot on two of my favourite tracks from Gary Clark jr
Sound like Joy Division: Both Peter Hook and Bernard Sumner.
Would’ve have loved to have seen this 3 years ago.. Nice breakdown .. Travis County took my picture
Eagles-Joe Walsh/Don Felder?
Jeremy Wilson pleaaase, can't believe they haven't done the Beatles or Eagles yet
Tyler B For the Beatles I'd recommend the natural Casino for John but George has had so many different guitars.
Saw Gary headline jazzaldia last year, free festival on the beach in san sebastian, really awesome show and venue he came on at midnight.
Sound like Rory Gallagher!!!!
Doc Mailloux squier strat - booster - vox ac15. done
DIY Vince depends on the era for amps and pickup configuration...
ya see... I don't think Rabea can play Rory.... ...bate!
it's about getting the sound of the player, not playing like him.
Vince G. Sure but that will still be a cool video to watch
Love this series. Here are a couple sounds I'd love to see you guys tackle:
Rob Baker - The Tragically Hip
Nameless Ghoul(s) - Ghost
Ian D'Sa - Billy Talent
Joel O'Keefe - Airbourne
Keep up the good work guys!
Radiohead. That way they can do both guitar parts!
**Ed weeps in the corner**
Cruz Avila *Ed does backing vocals in the corner*: *EYYYYYYAAHHHHHHHH*
Hey - i too called for this - but on second thoughts i'm not sure the rig could even be attempted on a £1500 budget. Similar to muse where the pedal requirements and options lead to a pretty unsatisfactory end result on a budget. What do you think?
YES!
ErichWilliam. I agree, but I would like to see them try. Also Radiohead often used marshall clean tones which is a nice change!
This was great! Especially like the Travis Country cover with the licks in between! Need to start playing it like that!
sound like prince or queen please
Love to see one on Prince. That man had some fat tones on some of his stuff.
AfternoonConcession Oh the prince one would taken down so fast by his estate, I'm surprised the Hendrix estate (specifically Janie "Hendrix") hasn't asked Andertons to take any/all videos down yet
Thanks for turning me on to this guy. I've never heard of his music but liked it immediately. learning "Numb" right know.
sound like richie blackmore
great job guys!. for anyone interested.. The bassbreaker 18/30 is a good option too. the 18 watt channel is based on a brown face tone thats very close to a vibro king.
Peter Green would be a great one to do.
OOOO!!
The Supernatural :)
I've been waiting very long for this one! Sounded pretty close, lacking a bit of bass end, but that kind of tone requires cranking the amp impractically loud. Worth a by busting!
do The Sword, they're a 2 guitar band
I had an IBJL Casino for a while. It was amazing, 50's style satin neck, amazing sounding Gibson USA P-90s... until the 9th fret or so. Then, bam, no upper neck access.
Do a Cheapest Strings VS Most expensive Strings challenge.
No ways, was literally thinking about this as an episode yesterday!!! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
Sounds Like The War On Drugs would be awesome! It'd be interesting to see what you can manage with a 'modest' budget :)
I can't believe I missed this one. I've been a Gary Clark Jr. fan since I saw him on Guitar Center Sessions years back. Unfortunately, I haven't stayed current with him, but I bought his Blak and Blu album, (and I heard the Healing.) Great sounds guys! 🤘🤘🤘
Rabea, how come we haven't had Nuno yet?
Gary Clark, Ltd signature Blak and Blu Epiphone has USA P90's but Gary used to use a Gibsons same model
but it plays really good, great playing guys
Great video! But why haven't you guys done the Beatles yet?
thought you did a great job on this one. sounded amazing. been on a Gary Clark jr kick lately. awesome
sound like clutch
Austin Bortnem Ohhh that would be awesome.
Killer sounding rig for the money!! And off course great playing.
Nuno Bea, you know you want to.
Tom Pugh man we need to get everyone to like this comment. With a solid amount of likes, plus the temptation, he might actually do it
YES!!! Thank you!! Love GC Jr!!
sound like Bloc Party!
Love these videos, thank you so much guys! Keep 'em coming!
Any chance you could do Motörhead? :)
Naverosport In Soviet Russia, Mötorhead does you
Naverosport only if they do lemmy too !!!!!!
Thanks for doing this sounds like guys. Love Gary's tone.
Please do this by busting the bank.
Great job on piecing this one together guys! Everything sounded mint
Any chance of a Richie Kotzen sounds like?
and Billy Sheehan if you're going for Winery Dogs
Awesome ! I have the Blak and Blu Casino with the bigsby and it's an amazing guitar ! Really enjoyed this episode guys 👍🏻
Eric Johnson
Parker lol you would have to do a WITH busting the bank on that one. But, if you were doing a without busting the bank:
Peavey Classic 30
Humbuckers with low wind- epi LP
Jupiter fuzz
Carbon Copy
TS808
MXR reverb
And just dial the Classic 30 with the mids up, bass up and low treble. You can get the lead tone like that, I used to do it all the time before I got a Mesa Boogie
Yes, bring it on I love Gary!
The Cure
Dinosaur Jr
Placebo
My Bloody Valentine
Garbage
William Sitnin Yes man!
For Dinosaur Jr. could be something like a Jazzmaster, a Marshall or fender amp and a lot of overdrive and fuzz.
i thought that said Bullet For My Valentine for a moment
now i am dissapointed
I would love to see their take on MBV. That's honestly hard to do
Marissa Paternoster from Screaming Females. She's an amazing guitarist.
A thought - completely love the sounds like series - but would be amazing if for each playing section you launch into to play a track you put up photos of the settings of each component. Any way keep up great work x
Sound like Clutch.
Anyone notice how the main riff in Gary Clark’s song “numb” sounds a hell of a lot like “come together” by the Beatles (which he covered)?
Ryan Flinn Ye
sound like mac demarco
Tim Hedlund yes!!!
Some form of single coil guitar on the neck pickup (maybe a Mustang?), into a Boss CE-2W and into a clean Fender amp with spring reverb.
Tim Hedlund definitely man
I've been asking for so long!:)
Yesss
Thanks for this one guys. Great choice of artist, great choice of gear.
I feel bad for saying this on every video but Queensrÿche - Chris DeGarmo and Micheal Wilton really deserve to be on here!
rambusinek YES!
rambusinek agreed
Really enjoyed this... thanks guys!
Buckethead pls
Really good video!!
I love the Casino. It sounds great clean and with fuzz/distortion. The natural feedback from the hollow body is great
Unfortunately, Gary has been abandoning the Casino that last couple of years in favor of a reissue Gibson SG that Pat Smear gave him as a gift.
Sound like Mark Tremonti BY Busting the Bank
Sound like Collective Soul
That first guitar-and-drive-channel-only tone was amazingly good. Could have stopped right there and had a winner!
So you say this is a good Sounds Like, but I didn't hear a DSL40c *once*. I call shenanigans.
Such a Great sound, I really like that sounds like. Thank you guys 👍
Sound like Highly Suspect.
Finlay Carson there shit
Cheers fullas. Awesome. Sounding like Gary is a bit like sounding like Jimi. Should be easy but ..... Thanks heaps

...please?
DO THE BEATLES
Epiphone Casino & a vox AC15 Amp
R Smith and a Rick 360 12 string and a vox ac15.
I can actually understand why the guys would shy away from this one. There’s almost too many different tones haha
I've been watching your channel for awhile now, and it'd be great if you could please do a sounds like of The Outlaws and Black Stone Cherry. Thanks for the vids!
do chuck berry
R I P
Fantastic! love watching you guys. How about sounding like Peter Green era Fleetwood Mac!
Please do a sounds like Richie Sambora
IMPORTANT FOR THOSE WATCHING: the Octo Puss is meant to operate with a buffer before it. it can be used without one, but operates best with a buffered signal.
Sound like Michael Schenker pleaaaaase
not quite there but I really liked it. awesome blues-rock sounds on budget and u can easily dial in some Hendrix, SRV, Sayce, DB2 sounds.
Pete Townsend please!
Got to meet him in AC last year. Such a cool dude!
beatles
I have a Epiphone Casino 339 and I put the dog ear P90s on my red Jay Turner 335. I think that the full size is a tad cooler. I may put the trapeze tail on it or a Japanese type bigsby. The 339 from Epiphone is a great guitar. I have the original Hot Rod Deluxe. I can't play like Gary but I love trying.
Still waiting for MARMOZETS boisssss
Ben Bryan What on earth could one possibly like about the marmozets?? I'm asking this as an honest question, not trying to be an ass
The Beatles please!
pedro robalo and By Busting The Bank!
If you're ticking off the oft-requested ones, Prince next please. 😊
i still want Radiohead
but we did get Soundgarten (RIP Chris)
Black Stone Cherry
and also Tool BY busting the bank
do sound like fu manchu or mooon ( they are a small band from my home town definitly check em out)
Sounds like dinosaur jr!
This was awesome. And please do a Sound Like Jet.
I hope there's a Sounds like Joe Bonamassa video coming please!
Hello Bea and Matt,
Would you guys be able to do a Sounds Like Sleep sometime? Curious to see how you would each run the Stoner sound. Cheers!
BEATLES!!
Megadeth!!!
I feel like they were a bit too versatile and covered too many genres to make a sound like video. But Brian May's sound is doable...
The Cure!!
hugo vocero BLUR!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sounds like the Beatles? Get any guitar and play some basic chords.
I love Gary but never even thought about a video about him!
This is to easy. Do tame Impala!!!!!
Cheers!
THRICE!!!!!!!!
Please do thrice.
