I reeeaallllly hope I didn't completely murder little wing But this was so much fun. Loved it! Thanks for watching and your continued support and suggestions! Love to you all :-)
Did great man. When you watch the experience, Hendrix only had the vox at his feet. The fuzz face was behind him over his left shoulder. It was always on and Hendrix would control the volume with his volume knob. That's the Hendrix part that's hard to pull off with modern gear. It just doesn't clean up like the roger Mayer modded stuff.
I know you said you're not Jimmi, but what you did was absolutely phenomenal mate, he'd be impressed! Plus you're the mother fucking guitarist for Dorje, so who cares? Good job Bea!
I love how Hendrix is famous for not needing a rhythm guitarist because he can transition between chords and soloing very fast. But they still had a rhythm guitar.
All these comments and going halfway down the page, there were none saying how brilliant an attempt that was. Rabea you're far too humble - which is a good thing - but give yourself credit for getting a great sound there. You got authentic sounds from most stages of the Experiences' career and played the tunes in an excellent Hendrix style, which is far from easy so thumbs up for this 1 from me.
***** Cheers Rabea. Yes it must be good fun having the freedom of a music shop to play through all the guitars and equipment trying to sound like whoever. You're both lucky to be able to do that, i reckon most people who watch these videos would like to have a go.
I think Jimi is the ultimate "tone in the hands" player. You could play his exact rig and sound miles off, and yet he could play a beaten up old acoustic and still sound like Jimi.

The only thing that'd really change would be the amp. And a custom shop version of the Strat. The pedals on this one are pretty much as good as it gets.
well, you could easily just order the axis fuzz and octavia from roger mayer. great pedals, indestructible, and handmade in england. i own both. 250£, around about. plus, he made jimi's vibe and entire rig, basically. that'd stack up quickly.
Yes. At least one full Marshall stack at minimum would be in order. Maybe a plexi reissue head along with something like 1960tv angled and straight 4x12's. A good lefty 70's style strat restrung right handed. Yes, it would no longer be stock but could then sell it as a special right handed Anderton's tribute to Jimi Hendrix as featured in sound like Jimi Hendrix by busting bank video. That would be cool.
I think with the " busting the bank" version, you could get a custom shop 60's relic lefty Strat (or if you have lots of papers, original 60's Strat will do) and flip it , restring it, and also get a 60's Dunlop fuzz pedal, 60's Vox Wah, it will make you sounds absolutely like Hendrix. LOL
Almost perfect Hendrix emulation, 60 percent is the quality of the player ( Rabea, could get a Kmart guitar sounding like Hendrix or SRV, bravo!!!). Great choices it sounds so damb authentic, way beyond what I expected.
Respect guys ... total respect for accepting this challenge !! Rabea & Matts playing really nailed this challenge. Please do a "no budget spared" version of this challenge. Once again awesome guys ... love it .. and please keep em coming.
Ive always wondered how Motley Crue got the shout at the devil album tone. You guys do a great job and I have throughly enjoyed watching the sounds like videos. Keep up the great work.
He was probably still using his black LP custom during that time... And I know he used them for the Girls and Feelgood album but what was the brand new metal amp Marshall had released around that time? Good ol JCM800 So despite using Hamers and BC Riches in videos and live around that time, I'm sure it was mainly his Les Paul Custom into some 800's. Why spend time and money on different gear when you could use it on blow and heroine?
Love it when Rabea gets "lost" in the music, it's great to see him enjoying it so much, and watching his fingers on the fretboard was somehow eerie that the sound was so close to Jimmy.
Bought the Fender Hendrix today because of you guys and all I can say is wow. Probably the best fender I have ever played. The neck feels fantastic and the pickups are kickass. I grabbed just a standard mini fuzz face as well but ordered the hendrix one online so I'm waiting for that. I'm running through a DSL15H through an Orange PPC112 and the tone is insane. Thanks a lot guys!
*Sound like Eddie Van Halen(78 - 82)* *Sound like Black Sabbath* *Sound like Randy Rhoads* PLEASE DO THESE.. SOME OF THE COOLEST AND MOST LEGENDARY PLAYERS OF ALL TIME!

+George Ray made from genuine fairy liquid bottles? Do you think Matt or Bea should "take one for the team" and shove their middle and ring fingers in an unforgiving machine? Also they gotta then play as a leftie too 😀
Mexican strat - tube screamer mini - BF Princeton reverb RI (cranked) - that'll get you pretty much as close as you can get at this price, and probably as close as you'll need to be in a bar/cover band setting.
if i were to try i'd try this squier vm surf strat (£336) marshall dsl15h (£419) peavey 1x12 cab (£119) fender super champ x2 combo (£369) ibanez mini tube screamer (£69) vox v847-a (£82) the rig would cost £1394 and i think it would come somewhat close to his sound. i went with the surf strat couse he used a strat with lipsitck pickups and the super champ becouse it has a lot of different vintage fender sounds build in. disclamer this is all speculation and i do not own any of this gear.
Peoples obsession with Queen baffles me, like yeah, they made enough good songs to make 2 best of albums, but they never made a really good album, there's no "Disintergration" or "the queen is dead" in their catalog, i always ask people about their favorite queen album and almost everyone says they never listen to one front to back... i guess if you like big arenarock shows with big choruses and pyrotechnics it's great...
have you ever heard QUEEN II? A night at the opera ? , Queen is one of the ( if not THE) biggest bands in the world, any smiths , clash , album is miles and miles away from any Queen album ( technically) , you may like it or not , but you cannot deny that the fact that Queen is by far a great band
Buy all of Jimi Hendrix's original gear, buy Jimi's grave, dig him up, cut off his hands, have his hands re-animated and replace your own hands with his. Buy guitar lessons from somewhat close sounding music stars like John Mayer and exclusively play and learn Hendrix songs and techniques from them. With all of that stuff together, you'd 100% have the Hendrix tone.
Thanks, guys. I got the info I needed and then I sat back and enjoyed the class. Good playing is how we get good sound. Good sounds this beautiful day. Thanks🤠
Totally loving these 'sound like' series would love to see you do Dire Straits, Nine Inch Nails / Marilyn Manson, Placebo and Silverchair / Pearl Jam. It would be very much appreciated. Cheers!
I thought that Little Wing sounded spot on; the tone and warmth came through true to the original. The Vox Wah was defiantly the right choice; such an original feel and fitted in perfectly. Was a tall order "Sound Like" to do Jimi; he was and still is so original and King. Really enjoyed it and respect for taking on the challenge and being respectful.
Job well done gentlemen; as a beginner and Hendrix fan I'm building this kit and I started with a Made in Mexico Strat Arctic white with white pickguard. I changed the tuners with the Hipshot self locking tuner upgrade kit. Now it's time to get the rest of the kit and this vid helped a lot. Thanks
An ill-fitting nut would make the guitar unplayable because the lower strings won't fit in the higher strings' slots. Besides, they shoot a bunch of these videos at once so they don't have time to do setup work on the guitars. It would've been cool to see them use an appropriately modified guitar though.
I mean, Kevin uses a rickenbacker. which is a really pricey guitar. but like, I assume they could get a J Mascis Jazzmaster because he uses that model sometimes. Most notable being when he used it in the solo for Let it happen. As for pedals, well... he has ALOT.
All n all...I think you guys did a good job. Of course most of the Hendrix sound came from his blessed hands. The legend, the master and the greatest is still raining...still dreaming and will live on forever.
Manzini D' linguini sg with p90s, fender twin for studio, acoustic amp for live tone, add a fuzz for a few fuzz riffs, learn to play with your fingers, maybe throw in a les Paul for slide
+Deividas Žilionis Break out a G & L Rampage with a Kahler Trem, a Bogner or Marshall Amp, and maybe throw in some delay, a compressor, and a wah!! And if you really wanna nail it, a talk box to do Nan in the Box!! Can it be done for £1,500??
Nice work gentlemen! That combo really sounded great..put a smile on my face. I had a chance to see Jimi here in Minneapolis but had to choose between him and CSNY (Stills and Young had guitar wars - fabulous!). but.I made the wrong choice not seeing Jimi - thinking I'd catch him the next time around was an error on my part. He was gone a few months later. Yeah - I'm 62 now and still regret it..
+Max Scardanelli please, give me one good reason why A7X is bad. I have so far yet to hear anything but "ah they're for 12 year olds" and other naïve bullshit. A7X is popular so you have to go make a dozen comments about how bad they suck. God DAMN that's edgy!
Can we just appreciate how good of a guitarist Bea actually is?

+c00lkatz the have the right guitars for slayer too
JIMI HENDRIX BY BUSTING THE BANK!!!!
so?

lolz i can play jacob sartorius on guitar

BrandonCure1010 c yeah put a plexi in the room what da hell!
At least Rabea has the hair so thats a start :p
Rizzles he forgot the bandanna though.
No he doesn’t...
That Jimi strat is the most comfortable strat Ive ever played in my life. Proud owner🙌
"Excuse me Chaps" -A legend 2016
that was hilarious

lol, if you are jimi you sound like jimi
I actually think they did quite a good job on this rig. I am not a big Hendrix expert, but to me this sounded good.
Agreed, though Phil X' cover of little wing is pretty close. Probably closer than any one I've ever heard.

Ah, Jimothy Hendrix
Ah... Jimberly Hendrix
Jimothy Hendreford
Ah, I see you are people of culture aswell :)

Kimberly Hendrix
Should have bought a left handed strat, restring it, then play it right handed
i have been thinking this for five years
Lefties are a bit more expensive . . .

peavey 1x12 cab (£119)
fender super champ x2 combo (£369)
ibanez mini tube screamer (£69)
vox v847-a (£82)
the rig would cost £1394 and i think it would come somewhat close to his sound. i went with the surf strat couse he used a strat with lipsitck pickups and the super champ becouse it has a lot of different vintage fender sounds build in.
disclamer this is all speculation and i do not own any of this gear.
Johnny Marr and Robert Smith please!
Yes please.
Yes! I've been requesting them for a long time, The Smiths and The Cure are probably the best British bands ever
Apart from Queen =D
All though it is not a demo of the jimi strat it's just THE demo of the jimi strat! It's a great video, i've come back to it like 5 times!
I think it's cool how humble Rabea is. He's a sick player.
Anyone for a Creedence Clearwater Revival without busting the bank?
Yesssssss😋
the best part of this video is when the old man comes up behind them and says " excuse me chaps"
How about Jimi Hendrix tone, with an unlimited budget? busting the bank?
some CS 60's Strat, a Marshall JTM45 and all the full fledged effects
Buy all of Jimi Hendrix's original gear, buy Jimi's grave, dig him up, cut off his hands, have his hands re-animated and replace your own hands with his. Buy guitar lessons from somewhat close sounding music stars like John Mayer and exclusively play and learn Hendrix songs and techniques from them. With all of that stuff together, you'd 100% have the Hendrix tone.
We all know Jimi Hendrix was the best drummer in the world. So it cant be you.
Just get a Marshall Amp, a Fuzzface, a Dunlop Crybaby, and a Fender Stratocaster. You'll have his tone, but never his sound.
I dont want to try and copy the guy.. I just like the tone and want to do my own stuff.
Thanks, guys. I got the info I needed and then I sat back and enjoyed the class. Good playing is how we get good sound. Good sounds this beautiful day.
Thanks🤠
I'm old, seen Hendrix play at pubs, clubs and on the big stage and I have only one thing to say about this vid.
WOW!
Van Halen
Pls
Totally loving these 'sound like' series would love to see you do Dire Straits, Nine Inch Nails / Marilyn Manson, Placebo and Silverchair / Pearl Jam. It would be very much appreciated. Cheers!
I demand a bass sounds like!!! same rules same budget but with bass
There's a Royal Blood Sounds Like
Not the same
Yes it is, it's exactly what you asked for lmfao
Its not really, he's basically a guitar player
Bass guitars are esential in any genre. There is no genre without bass guitar
Thanks
Do you ever get nervous knowing you've picked the gear and now it's time to try to play in that style?
Hahaha every time! Especially iconic guitarists!
+Rabea Massaad yeah this is the first time I kinda felt for you going into that video room. Like "oh shit now they're really gonna do this"!
you guys should do a video of Hendrix by busting the bank. Keep up the good videos
Shoulda just got a left handed Squier Classic Vibe and restrung it.
Oh no! So we're in for what now... £15? £20? I'm sure they could make do with an ill-fitted nut for the shoot.
Which is why I said they could probably make do with an ill-fitting nut for the shoot.
An ill-fitting nut would make the guitar unplayable because the lower strings won't fit in the higher strings' slots. Besides, they shoot a bunch of these videos at once so they don't have time to do setup work on the guitars. It would've been cool to see them use an appropriately modified guitar though.
Nah their idea was better
Chinchillupa Guy Nope.
Rabea really kicked ass this episode. That extended Hey Joe at the end was spot on.
Best on of the series! Rabea's playing was absolutely on point!
Do brian may??
I know it is almost impossible but would cool to see how close they get
Hayden Dunlop they made a red special copy for 700 pounds but it’s a bit eh
SOUND LIKE TAME IMPALA / KEVIN PARKER!!
impossible, his pedals alone add up to over 4,000 GBP
Seb Clarke you'd only need a phaser, delay and reverb and maybe a beefy fuzz for older stuff. Could easily sort out a cheap rig
Tame impala might be a good challenge, I've been suggesting it for a while now, hopefully soon!
I mean, Kevin uses a rickenbacker. which is a really pricey guitar. but like, I assume they could get a J Mascis Jazzmaster because he uses that model sometimes. Most notable being when he used it in the solo for Let it happen. As for pedals, well... he has ALOT.
Iv asked for Graham Coxon on the past 4 videos :'(
You cant do Oasis and not do Blur
Don't worry dude!
Holy fuck i just died.
Thankyou so much, and i love Dorje :DDDD
+Rabea Massaad damn that voodoo child was on point!
+Rabea Massaad YES
...and you can't do Oasis and Blur without doing Pulp.
That moment between 19:02 and 20:06 the sound is just abnormal, spot on! great job guys!
at first i was skeptical but i was not disappointed, at all. that hey joe bit... amazing!
for the love of god, please do steve vai
clever... lol. Good idea too.
My guitar player has your exact name brother haha
ayyyyyyy I see what you did there
I think they don't do douchebags
Julian Müller ok
I want to see a "How to sound like Tom Morello" , he's an interesting player.
THEY DID HIM ALREADY
they did it iirc
Yeah but so ... do it one more time please !
The Simpson's did it
That's already been done.
do a sounds like jimi hendrix
@@noname.___ I agree after that if they do sounds like jimi hendrix could imagine how sick that would be.
All n all...I think you guys did a good job. Of course most of the Hendrix sound came from his blessed hands. The legend, the master and the greatest is still raining...still dreaming and will live on forever.
great job guys, I think of all the sounds like, this is the one where I really got the sense of how important the pedals are
you gotta do either Alice in Chains or Chevelle.
Both or both. Not negotiable.😠😀
I prefer the former but both would be great!
Indeed!!
Eric Johnson by busting the bank! Would be a good challenge to try and get his picky, amazing tone.
How to sound like The Doors guitarist without busting the bank
He's called Robby Krieger
Manzini D' linguini sg with p90s, fender twin for studio, acoustic amp for live tone, add a fuzz for a few fuzz riffs, learn to play with your fingers, maybe throw in a les Paul for slide
Easy, buy an epi SG and a vox ac10.
The way you guys played hey joe was just beautiful
That was a good one! I can tell when you guys are crazy excited about the artist.
SOUND LIKE ALICE IN CHAINS
Yes!
can't believe they haven't done this yet
HELL YEAH
must do Cantrell
+Deividas Žilionis Break out a G & L Rampage with a Kahler Trem, a Bogner or Marshall Amp, and maybe throw in some delay, a compressor, and a wah!! And if you really wanna nail it, a talk box to do Nan in the Box!! Can it be done for £1,500??
This is more like his live sound than studio sound
sounds like green day!!
go to the bathroom after an all night taco bender. voilà! Green Day
+Chris Henderson nice one
+Chris Henderson I second this
+Chris Henderson Yeah, though early Kerplunk! era GD might not be so bad
I agree, but they need to play good solos like the judges daughter and dry ice and let yourself go
Anyone know what song he’s playing at 18:15? One of the sickest licks I’ve ever heard
Do sounds like Eddie Van Halen please! One of the most iconic yet difficult tones to achieve along with Jimi's.
Robbie Barousse you mean just buy a phaser? 😉👍
Your both clueless. EVH has an unmistakable sound. It would not be that way if all you had to do was plug and play or just run a phaser.
@@theslayerofgoblins849 EVH like SRV is extremely over rated.
Great episode, how about Thin Lizzy?
SOUND
LIKE
STEVIE
RAY
VAUGHAN
Dude I think y'all killed it for the budget man I love these reviews man keep them coming
Good job! I thought the fuzz was a bit over the top, I don't remember him having it on so full but I haven't listened to him in years.
Sound like Chevelle or Chris Wolstenholme please please please!!!
Defiantly would be awesome. Pete's tone is monstrous.
+Alex Vennos yes I'd love to see to see a sounds like Pete loeffler without busting the nut. Bank*
CptnSpicyWeiner lol yea they would have to use some kind of baritone
+Alex Vennos yeah I hope they make it happen. People gotta like my comment and hopefully they see it haha
Yeah, this would be cool
I'm not going to sleep well knowing that I've been asking for avenged sevenfold for months and it's possible I'll have to wait many more....
I've slept well knowing the fact that they haven't done that God awful all image no talent emo scene band. 👌🏻👌🏻💯💯
Couldnt have said it better!
+Pesca de Antueno Who me?...
Yep, they have been choosing some great artists so far, it would be a shame to ruin it ;)
+Max Scardanelli please, give me one good reason why A7X is bad. I have so far yet to hear anything but "ah they're for 12 year olds" and other naïve bullshit. A7X is popular so you have to go make a dozen comments about how bad they suck. God DAMN that's edgy!
18:08 is that Jimi's song or just Rabea's impro? Sounds awesome.
I really wanna know that too, loved it
Voodoo Chile lead in sounded AMAZING. Love you guy's.
Very good Hendrix tone & sound on a really tight budget!! Sounded really good! Thumbs up, guys!!
