Päivänsäde ja menninkäinen is a piece of music composed and written by Reino Helismaa, which was recorded by Tapio Rautavaara in first recording on March 3, 1949 on a clay disc. The song describes an impossible love. Most of finns listen this as a children's song about sunray and goblin.

This is so bittersweet, mostly sweet. It wasn't originally really meant as a children's song, but it's usually sung as one. I sung this to my kids every night as a lullaby when they were little.
Hi Kelly, don't know why I am so late to this. Who ever translated this to english did an amazing job. This is an old song most Finnish kids has heard as their lullaby. Jarkkos singing is just amazing, gives you chill's.❤

The translations were mostly okay, but there were a few typos I noticed: When it said "wonder" it really meant wander ("vaeltaa" in Finnish), when it said "steel" it really meant steal ("varastaa" in Finnish). I hate to a grammar nazi, but sometimes wrong translations can disturb the original message.

Decades become a different review, according to the times. The original is good, the new interpretation is also good.
