- Do you remember the commercials for the Viennetta? I do, they made them look so amazingly tasty! I always wanted to try one, but it was never on my mom's shopping list! Finally I get to give this niffty dessert a try!

I remember eating viennetta when I was little in the 90’s
I remember that...I so loved it too.
Yes they never left the UK, i use to love them as a kid, they also come in a mini version on a stick in certain supermarkets here, there are other flavours, strawberry, mint etc. there also use to be different versions as well with different things in them i cant remember what they were called sonata or something like that but they stopped doing them.

Yes I remember now, and we always wanted to get it as kids but it was too expensive at least for our family back in the day...I just wanted to try it because it looked so fancy lol.

It sort of reminds me of a homemade Oreo cream pie - layers of crushed Oreo cookies layered with cool whip and then frozen. Actually very good. I don’t really remember an ice cream taste - more like a whipped topping taste.
They are sold in the UK for between £1-£2.50.
My mom used to buy this when I was younger! Can’t wait to find it.
While Viennetta never left the UK, the practical absence of the orange version is a tragedy.

I love Viennetta. The mint chocolate one is delicious. I find the only problems are one they aren’t big enough and two they are so cold they give me brain freeze.
In England, this is known as Walls Viennetta and has been around since the 1970s.... You can still buy them for a pound (1.39454 USD) in ''Herons'' stores everywhere..
£1 in the UK my favourite flavour is the mint

This was nice when I was a kid know doesn't have a lot of taste. The mint one is better. They are £1 here in most supermarkets. Artic roll is better. It's ice cream and sponge roll.. 😋

I think its always been available here. I've never really purchased it myself. It was the sort of thing that was served at a party. I always remember the mint version though. I didn't know it wasn't ice cream, but funnily enough, I think I've heard that before. I do get brain freeze, but not often.
Have them here in uk all the time! Little tip; cut a piece and leave it at room temp for 5-10 mins then eat, its amazing!

I remember it from before. Back then the price was expensive as well. The problem is Ice Cream is NOT ice cream anymore its ALL frozen dairy dessert
I don't mind them but mainly because it's cheap and cheerful.
My local store has them for just over £1 / $1.40 inc tax.
For £5.73 / $8 you can get a Haagen-Dazs or couple of tubs of Ben & Jerry's.

Vienetta is available all year round in the UK. The best is mint icecream with dark chocolate shards lol. Not so keen on the plain. It's less than £2 in UK
For those that don't know, Good Humor (walls US) parent company is owned by Britains Unileaver company, the original makers of Vienetta.
Viennetta 100% British :D The best one is the Mint flavour. They only do one other that I've heard but it is limited edition - Chocolate Orange.

As a Brit who now lives in the States and who grew up with Viennetta for dessert I was excited that it was making a comeback over here. But there is no way I am paying 8 bucks for it!!!

Wow that’s really expensive, they retail for about £1.65 here in the uk we can get mini ones also on sticks and in a few flavours, mint is the best also there is a Carmel biscuit one

Hi John and family. I watch your videos, mostly see the foreign food Friday ones. Like your videos, and it's nice to see you all together as a family. Enjoy watching those when you try foods from the UK, where I live. We have the vanilla flavour and also mint flavour Viennetta. Don't think it is as expensive over here. Maybe the equivalent of $2 - $2.50. I do like both flavours, but the mint is nicer. It doesn't keep its shape when it melts. As you said, it can get a bit messy. Some of your videos have made me feel hungry, or want to eat what you are taste testing. Hope you and all the family have a good week and stay safe. Thanks very much for your videos. 🖼️☕😊
Pro tip: cut very thick slices and rotate ninety degrees before eating. (I expect to pay £1.99 to £2.50.)

Havnt had vienetta in years although you can get them in most stores.
I checked the price and Viennetta is only £1.00 in the UK! I haven’t had any since the 1990s though!

I remember Vienetta coming with the kfc bucket meals when I was little in the UK! I don't remember when KFC stopped selling them but it must have been back in the 90's as I was very little when I remember eating one there with my family!

I had it only twice back in 1995 when it came out, so 27 years ago. Would buy it even if it cost $10. Just once though, probably. Cannot find it in my area. Closest area too far. Correct, Walmart does not carry…it…everything. That said, I am not a lucky American wanting to try this lasagna that is not lasagna.
My nan always got the mint one at Christmas it can't stand them now days 😂

You need to try it with cherry pie filling on it. It’s really good then.
This was the dessert that used to come with the Pizza Hut Family Meal deals back in Australia in the 1980’s and early 90’s. And it was a regular at potluck parties etc. But we never ate it straight out of the freezer, we always waited for it to soften for 20-30mins. Very nostalgic!
Hey guys! Same boat here. I remember the commercials whenI was young, but I do not think I ever tried it. Wonder why they are bringing it back. Very interesting. Jami gave it a 65!! Wow! Did not think it went that high :) I think a 6 is much better. Not sure if I would get it for that price as well. Is this limited time or do you know if it is staying? It will probably not be staying if it is for that price :) I am sure that log did NOT last long with your family!! Did not seem that big. I am sure it is good, but not for the price. Ya that packaging made it impossible to save... We just had to finish it! Lol. Glad we tried it, but for the price, it'll be a 1 and done!

We bought one when they were out the first time in the 90's. I thought it seemed just a fancier version of an Eskimo (now called "Edy's") pie. I'd rather buy a dipped cone at DQ. Much better price and better ice cream too.

It is ice cream and no it doesn't hold its shape, it turns to ice cream chocolate soup! from previous experience of letting it thaw for just a bit too long so it wasn't one big solid block
Its just odd because no where on the package does it say Ice Cream... Its labeled a "frozen dairy dessert" lol. Good stuff though 👍

Vienetta is also expensive in Ireland. I’m with Jami on the dairy cream. Your expecting Ice Cream but it’s deffinatly not.. not a big fan
