Clear and concise. I am a retired physician and used to explain to patients that our metabolism hasn't changed significantly for thousands of years. As hunter-gatherers we ate far fewer carbs and as such our bodies are designed to run on fats and proteins naturally. As a kid, our local sweet shop had a few trays of sweets: Now, all supermarkets have long isles packed with sweets of all kinds. Our bodies aren't designed to ingest all this sugar... no wonder Insulin Resistance is such an issue these days. I have always told patients that nature gets it right and to listen to their bodies. Keep up the good work Dr Berg!

Hello. I have a question and maybe you can help me. I have followed Dr. Eric Berg keto plan for 3 months ,i have lost the weight i wanted but my LDL cholesterol has gone up to 200( which by the reference where i had my test done , it is very high) . How do i tackle this and still continue with keto, or is this normal and it will come down by itself? I know boiled eggs have more of the good cholesterol than fried eggs (in butter)Should I do that instead? Any suggestions i would appreciate. Thank you

Dr. Berg! I just wanted to share with you how your videos have changed my health and life . I was diagnosed with type two diabetes, I already had high blood pressure for yrs and I was over weight. My cholesterol was high and so was my triglycerides. I immediately converted a room in my home to a gym and changed my eating habits i basically was starving eating lots of salads and beans, lentils and a few meats but not many. I did good for a year but couldn’t sustain the lifestyle. I did in that year lose 36 lbs and get my A1C down from 9 to 7 without medication but after the Covid lock down was over and I returned to work and moved my mother in with me who was I’ll all of the exercise and eating heart went out the window. My A1C shot back up I gained about 10lbs back and my glucose and BP were worse than ever. About a month ago I started watching your videos and I transitioned my diet I had some set back and cravings but finally a week ago I was able to start the fasting and I purchased a stationary bike and I filled the fridge with healthy foods from your videos. It’s only been a week but my blood sugar has not gone higher than 175 it remains between 124 and 130 before meals and this morning when I took my blood pressure it was 120 over 79 that was before any medication. I have lost 7 lbs my knee pain and most of my joint pain is gone! I am so excited and feel so much better I was sick every day and beginning to feel hopeless. Thank you so much for your videos I am truly grateful and I know that this is something I can continue to do. I made the pizza yesterday with your cauliflower crust receipt it was delicious. Thank you!

I had suffered with cystitis for literally all my life , I tried everything to get rid of it but nothing worked , I might get temporary relief but it always came back, my husband decided to go on keto when his blood pressure was high so I tried it too and like magic the cystitis went within a week of doing keto , I praise the Lord for showing me these videos and giving me the wisdom to follow this diet, having a sweet tooth is a myth as I never crave all the sickly stuff I would eat of the past, thank you Dr Eric Berg for changing lives

Then did 15 days of 2 keto meals + IF and lost 6.4 lbs. Day 31 of Keto & IF, for a total loss of 16 lbs. Thank you Dr Berg for all the great info making it easier to get healthy and then lose weight. And while losing weight, I know I'm getting healthier, more energy, sleep better, more active.

@@prashanthb6521 wouldn't know how to start a review but I hope this helps At 55 Yo 5'8" and 267 Lbs with what I would say was 65 % body fat in 2016 I was in sad shape and that's after a life of Yo-Yo dieting I was X military paratrooper so trust me I was in shape for almost 6 years in 2016 I found a video on You tube Titled butter makes your pants fall of by Butter Bob Greg.. That opened the door to Keto you should watch it ..first thing I did is knock of the Sugar and sugary drinks also all Alcohol then after 30 days I started removing all the Carbs except for vegetables fresh Blue berry's , Raspberry's , and Black berry's as the only sweets I could have when I craved them at first almost at the end of every meal all my meals with NO snacking where 80% Fat 15% protein and 5% carbs ..lost 60 Lbs in 6 month 100 lbs in just under a year ..The biggest surprise after the remarkably fast weight loss was that in 3 short month I had lost all symptoms of arthritis that had plagued me for over 5 years this is when I woke up that this is much more ten just about loosing fat also be aware that back then I did not know about IF and OMAD ..that I started at the end of my 2nd year and did some experimenting so If I was starting now with all the new info on RUclips it would go so much faster and easier. I'm now at 172 lbs my lowest after 12 month was 160 lbs I had a lot of loose skin and appeared older from the wrinkled skin on the face Today I'm 59 Yo 175 lbs much more muscle and I'm down to about 20 % body fat the loose skin is about 80% gone and I still notice an improvement every month and I have been told quite a few times this past year that I'm looking so much younger I agree. As far as my mental health I can for sure tell that I don't experience brain fog that I did 4 years ago my short term memory still needs to improve quite a bit more, But my long term is some times scary how good it is ..This is long but it would take hours to even start to go into any details " Live your life against the grain and never look back "

I live in a cold climate in Canada, in a remote area three and half hours' drive from a supermarket. I grow greens in summer but for half the year it is difficult to find quality vegetables. Enter sprouts. All you need is a canning jar and screen (mosquito screen and a rubber band to hold it on) and a table spoon of sprouting seeds. In 2 - 3 days you will have salad. You don't need grow lights or space. It is easy and very cheap. At the sprout stage the plant has many more nutrients than at any other time of its life. Collards, broccoli and daikon radish have so much potassium I no longer need to take supplements. High in fibre, too. Almost zero carbs.

I began keto at 153, about 4 years ago. Saw significant difference in about 4 months. Continued until I was at about 120, about 2 more months. Have remained at 120. If I have a few days nit in keto, I don't worry; It's easy to eat fat and keep my weight at 120. Took new job in retail and found histamines an issue; working on that with help from Dr Berg's videos.
I use some of his products. D3K2 is amazing. It has helped my lungs so much. I recommend it to many people. Prayers and blessings for Dr Berg & family!

My story - I have lost about 13 Kgs ( 29Lbs approx.) in about 2 months (mid-November till now). I got keto adapted within 2-3 days of starting and am now doing either 20/4 or OMAD. Now focussing more on electrolytes and nutrient rich greens and quality of fat being consumed. Am also doing and light excercise to improve my muscle tone. Benefits - My arthiritic pains are reducing rapidly, craving for sugar has dissappeared, fat around the stomach region has decreased (wearing 2 sizes lower). Will be testing my insulin resistance, and other blood markers (Lipid profile) next week.

I was taking berberine last year and realized when I stopped taking it that’s what contributed to my weightloss plateauing and then weight gain so I’m also taking berberine once again after watching this channels berberine video I came across these healthy keto and intermittent fasting videos and here I am a week and a day in. Just wanted everyone to know this really works! Hope I can finally get down to my goal weight with this method.

Dr. Berg, I want to say THANK YOU! I am on my 4th day of Keto diet and intermittent fasting. I have one issue with this plan because it works beyond my imagination. I lost 3.4 lb and 1.5 to 2 cm around my waist after only 3 days. Why is this a problem? I don't want to lose weight. I only want to lose stubborn fat around my waist and thighs. I am healthy and lean and can't afford losing another pound. I have to increase from 2 meals to 3 meals on some day moving forward, so I don't lose more weight. I am very happy with the result that I could not get despite I have been excercising regularly and eating healthy all these years. I didn't change much in my diet except increased more green veggies in each meal now and stop snacking fruits and high protein bar that I made. The main change for me is to reduce the number of times I eat daily. I can't believe how simple it is and it works beautifully. For those of you who read this and you need to get rid off stubborn fat in the lower belly, I hope this inspires you.

My belly has completely disappeared, my body has become very fit and my bad weight has disappeared. Your contribution to this matter is incredible and truly huge. Did strict keto for 8 mths, lost over 100lbs. Fasting was SO easy, OMAD - no prob, two days fast - no prob except I’d start yawning and feel a but tired at 48 hrs so I’d eat. But still, satisfaction/hunger was easily managed.
Lately been eating keto approved foods (not carbs or processed foods), but I’ve been having too much, I’ve been hungry which feeds back into wanting to eat too much. 🙄🤦🏻‍♀️
Its not just the approved foods, but managing quantities that’s super important. I’m struggling to get back into strict keto now even though I know how amazing it works.

Thank you!! I never intended to consider IF because I thought it was ridiculous to starb, but now I understand the importance of burning my own fat and bringing insulin down to loose the gut and improve my liver and over all health. Thank you!

My own diet journey of some six months has been steadily reducing carbs. Every time I've found a new way to do that I saw benefits. We all grew up chowing down on sugars and carbs. It is no small thing to change those habits. First get rid of the sugar (fruit sugar especially) then rachet down the carbs, rachet up the vegetables, quality protein, quality oils. This worked for me. I'm now putting the squeeze on time between first and last meal of the day. Thank you Dr Berg.

I was literally doing the 18hr fast for about 3-4 years. Didn’t know it had a name. I always plateau at about 210lbs but felt and looked better. Then I stopped and been no higher than 240 these past couple years. Think imma start again only this time the right way. Thanks for your video.

Sadly the economy is very bad in SA and generally everywhere. My hubby has 6 years Univercity but unemployed minimum 4yrs and my industry is down to basically 0. Beauty, nails, hair I entered the industry too late. Down to basically 0. It's a miracle that we ok and able to eat daily. I'm going to do my best to get my hubby to do this keto. He doesn't eat fat and I'm surprised he has colesterol but I will check the CAC test with a Dr. Thankyou

    Good day Dr Berg,
Thank you for your in-depth knowledge of the functions of the human body:)
I thought I’d compare what I do on a regular basis to your recommendations.
I usually eat from 16:00-20:00 , once a day. Black French roast coffee around 05:00 , and green tea till 4.
I’d just like to say that getting to that point can be a bit challenging. Especially at 08:00, 10:00 & 12pm for the first few weeks.
But it is truly amazing that I have a consistent amount of energy throughout the day.
If if I was to eat , say at lunch, I get more tired then if I just skip the dish.
    Thank you & Shalom

Been doing keto for 5 months, im pre-diabetic & have inflammatory arthritis. I started at 325 pounds, right now i'm at 260 pounds. I just eat boiled eggs with salt & pepper, bacon and beef, no sugar or carb intake at all, i just drink only water and sometimes i drink a lot of water in a day, and i only eat dinner so i'm also unintentionally intermittent fasting as well. Don't know if i'm really doing keto correctly, but i am losing a lot of weight. Yesterday was my first day on keto where i didn't even get hungry and didn't eat anything, but today i was hungry and had 2 meals of beef, 1 of those 2 beef meals was with a whole raw onion (i really miss onions, tomatoes, lettuce - i love salads but wasn't losing weight on them) but i usually only eat once a day which is dinner before i go to bed. Going to probably eat a delicious chicken salad tomorrow night for dinner now that i just reminded myself of salads, which i know i shouldn't 🤦

It’s amazing how eating potassium and creating health is much more effective for weight loss than merely omitting sugar. So it’s pro active rather than passive ketosis. Not starving..but high potassium. Benefits of Potassium extend to the heart and mood. It certainly slims me down more than non Veg keto

This is so funny. First I know it's true and I have experienced this. What is truly funny to me is that I am a veterinarian and try to help keep pets at a healthy weight. I tell people "When the third person tells you that your dog is too thin, you know that the weight is just about correct."

Michael Dunavant Yes, that is so interesting. Prior to KETO, when I was weighed at the walk-in clinic, I was given a readout that told me my BMI was too high. I asked the nurse why, and she said it doesn’t account for muscle, and I was a stocky atheletic wrestler kind of physique. I really didnt know then how to lose weight, not 25 pounds of it anyways, and honestly didnt think I could. I eat healthfully, but was eating too many carbs, not realizing it was keeping me at a solid 165. I think American culture programs us to favor us on the chunky side. I got my BMI down to normal percentage for my age and height, and after years of having high BP, its now normal 120/80. Still people tell me they are afraid KETO is harming me! The doctor gives a thums up though!

I have a question: I’m new with Keto dieting, & I put MCT oil & grassfed butter in my coffee/tea first thing in the morning. If I’m starting the intermittent fasting, should I drink the tea/coffee plain in the mornings then add the oil & butter at lunch with my first meal?
Yes, Dr Berg is the absolute best. I’m a retired RN & I avoid the medical field as much as possible, so when I have a medical problem, I first listen to Dr Berg. He’s the smartest man I know! Thank you Dr Berg!
