For all those wanting to order a new Porsche. You may get a completed car delivered only to have it sit at the dealer for months waiting for a Bose or Burmeister amp. Both Bose and Burmeister are on backorder. My new Turbo GT delivered minus the Burmeister amp. The dealer says Porsche won’t allow the cars to complete delivery till the amps come in. Could be months! So it sits at the dealer lot for months awaiting a plug and play part.
@@chasingcarsThis is really happening. I was told yesterday could be more than 2 months. They claim more than 6 cars on their lot are waiting for Bose and Burmeister amps. Very frustrating
Very nice! But if it had 500nm of torque it would be perfect. It would be easier to drift and it would push you against the seat harder. And if it had shorter gear ratios it would be more envolving too and in the real world would accelerate harder in every situation, even if it has a slower 0-60, you won't be launching it all day, its better to have better acceleration in the real world, and again, it would push against the seat harder in every gear. But maybe the gear ratios are perfect has they are. I haven't experienced it so i don't know. Wider tires no thanks! It already had enough grip for sure, more grip isn't always more fun, this way is much harder to get to the limit, plus i will try to not be repetitive, its more difficult to drift. And i enjoy some wheel spin too, even if you are not drifting, some wheel spin in first and second gear makes it fun. The amount of power its perfect for the Carrera T, this way you can use more of the power available, more of the time. Still, overall a very good car!
Hey Tom, awesome car thanks for bringing it to my attention. I’ve been a long time watcher of your videos and happy for your transition to a more solid sponsorship approach. Of course it’s never the best outcome for a watcher but it’s better than having despairing different company ads interrupting the content so I think it’s a good compromise just as a bit of feedback I thought that the new personality and content delivered from the states was a little bit jarring. I think there’s a lot of people like me that I’ve watched your videos for a long time and are used to your familiar stylings. When the new Aussie guy came along, it felt like you had a mate along to help you, but with this video, it feels like you’ve bought content from somewhere entirely different, Slaped yourself in the banner to give it some familiarity and then back on to hanging out with a stranger. Creating a five minute intro. I’ve just saying that we’ve got partners overseas now or giving it some context just sharing because I care mate keep up the great work and all the best with the growth of the channel!
Feedback received! If we want to get the earliest content from overseas sometimes we’ll use awesome professionals in that market like Tim Stevens-who is fully versed in what Chasing Cars is all about. There was no trip to go and drive the 911 T in America, so if we didn’t have Tim, we wouldn’t have this video. I hope that helps to explain it.
@@chasingcars true but many prefer mid engined. I own a 718 GTS (unfortunately the 2.5T but we’ll fix that one day lol with an upgrade) and picked it over a 991.1, have also driven 997s and a 992 and prefer the 718 chassis. Especially when driven hard / on track, but that’s just my preference. I’ve driven a 4.0 GTS and that engine is a blast. The downside of my car is the engine, lots of torque but annoying lag and noise is all exhaust which gets old fast.
It’s interesting. Porsches are much cheaper in America but they have fewer build slots proportionally. So buying one is easy - but whether it’ll be built is a separate question. In Australia the prices are high but build slots are more proportionate.
@@chasingcars I heard the waiting list is way too long like 2+ years. Even it is much cheaper in south korea, let alone the chrono pkg is included for free. Certainly it is way more cheaper in UK even after factoring the LCT. Let’s put this way. The price of x5 in USA and Australia is comparable. The price of RS3 in UK is more expensive than in Australia. I wonder why most Porsches are much more expensive in Australia than in most nations from UK, Germany, North America and Korea.
"It's no GT3" misses the entire point. Obviously the 911T has worse performance metrics, but it probably has much better enjoyment and fun metrics, and isn't that the whole point of owning a sports car? The GT3 is a race car for the road, too much performance to ever really use, and a setup that is too stiff to be comfortable and usable. The 911 T is the sweet spot of performance and comfort on a daily basis.
@@prasad530 having driven both, there’s no comparison in fun metrics. The screaming of the GT3, the immediate thrill of acceleration the endless grip. The only thrill the T has is low weight. It doesn’t scream, it hasn’t the grip and it’s not a mind bindingly quick .
It’s no GT3 and I’m fortunate to own both. It’s a daily 911. GTS is hard to beat if it’s a daily/weekend car that you want.
This is my dream car! As for the prices, it just shows you that Australia is not a cheap place for car enthusiasts…
Agree. But at least Australia, you don't have to pay mark-up on RRP... It's actually illegal.
Cheaper than Asia

What is a Turbo GT?

To make this more “purist” it should have the cayman 4.0 na engine.
Would probably cost 30k$ more.

Sweet spot for a “drivers” daily is the 718 4.0 GTS
Another good car, though without classic 911 dynamic traits.

Wishful thinking - everyone wants the GT3 :)
Concerning whishful thinking, GT3 is the real deal 😅
The GT3 is not great for the road as a daily. I went with a 992 T and the GT4RS. That gave me the best of both worlds.
Sadly Bucket seats & Ceramic Brakes are not available for this model Carrera T in USA !
The carbon buckets are coming Porsche said. I have a allocation on one….. I won’t be waiting to get the buckets though.
overkill
@@paulappache6479 No carbon buckets for the T , considering the configurator (at least in Europe). Are you sure that tehy are coming?
Give me the Cayman or Boxster GTS 4.0 over this. Better driving dynamics, engine, and brakes in the GTS 4.0 cars.
I'd be perfectly content with a base manual Boxster to be honest.
So would I! That said, if I could choose, I'd take this

If it had the non-turbo 4.0L engine beefed up to 430hp, manual only and the S brakes maybe....
