your one of my top 3 guitar players that capture that tone in my head that i cant seem to extract, keep up the great work and put out more videos please.we love them.
The Eventide H9 is definitely on my "want" list, along with Robert Keeley's new Compressor Pro and a switcher. Rock on Pete! Glad to see you're able to lead a successful life as a guitarist/musician!
Man, that's some great tone at the end! That's the same type of tone I like to use for my cleans, just a hint of gain to give it a bit of break up, and use the volume knob to clean it up more if it gets too hairy. When you get a chance, can you do another pedalboard demo explaining your routing? Thanks Pete, have a great tour!
I'm looking at the H9 as I am impressed by your choices and tone. That harmonising part sounds like it would have been playable anyway and without the stress of remembering the moment to change from the other setting to a Fifth. I'm sure you had a good reason to use the harmoniser for that. I went for the BNoss DD500 after watching your pedal board updates. It arrived today. Not tried it yet but I am excited about the Midi functionality now as I'm building my pedal board around a Providence switcher. The H9 is still a little expensive although I understand owning 2 units is a wise thing as you can share the library in effect doubling your algorythms. I am hoping for an alternative to pop up, a milti effect unit of similar spec without amp and speaker modelling just designed to go on a pedal board loop. Thnks Peter. Great video and very helpful as always.
That is one expensive rig, wow... that said, i can't imagine it all in more competent and creative hands. I love Pete's playing so much, to me, he is reminiscent of a Malcolm Young meets Jeff Beck, he's got a zillion tricks and technique galore, but he never fails to absolutely rock your face off :)
Great to see how you use these in a live context. I have a Space and an h9, so use them in a similar way. Do you find yourself using the Timeline and Möbius much, since you have a huge range of delays and modulations with the h9? Sounding great, thanks!
Sorry for coming late to the party Pete, I'm very interested in buying an H9. Can't you do all those things with one unit and a midi controller? Why did you get two? Thanks for the awesome videos by the way!
Loving the redesign Pete, how are you digging the sick as pedal? I fell in love with your review on it and have it on my list. Also noticed what appears to be a Vemuram Rage e, what's the story with that?
Love the SickAs, it's my "solo boost" pedal. The RageE is like a nice distortion, I use it for a low gain distortion sound when I need a sound a bit less aggressive than my PT100 CH2
Pete which one is better when it comes to modulation? The H9 or the Mobius? I've been watching your videos and they are very informative! Your pedalboard is really something every guitar player dream of!
Pete---Timeline Strymon or H9? I've always loved the Strymon stuff, and actually think the Big Sky reverb options sound better IMO, but thinking about the versatility of the H9. Thanks! Love your work man, you are the "EF Hutton" of guitar, when you talk, people listen:) My budget is limited, so it's a big investment, really appreciate your opinion.
Hey Pete, whats your opinion on the Strymon Timeline and the Mobius. I see they are on your board and they have been for a while. Are they worth the money? I am thinking of running them in my loop of my Mesa Mark Five.
pete, thanks for the video ,I love the h9 but darn it the line 6 m5 is about the same for $100, I mean you could buy 6 line 6 m5's or the price of one h9 max?!
Are both H9's in parallel stereo and hitting a mixer before the return to the heads?// or is the first H9 mono and the last one stereo in line series??In the video it seemed like there was a slight volume drop in your dry signal when you engaged the H9 spring sound so I doubt theres a mixer.Whats the story?-Thank s in advance and you rock as usual!
no mixer- everything's in series. I have the 2nd H9 in TB mode and the 1st is in buffered bypass. Timeline is in there too, in buffered bypass so I have delay trails
Pete, why shift a volume pedal for intervals with pitch shift. I know several units that you can customize each note in the scale with a custom pitch. Just play with no grief. Most Eventide rack units, Boss GT 100, and Axe FX will do this.. Love all your videos. Have a good day.
yes but see i need sometimes when I hit a C for the harmony interval to be a 3rd and sometimes I need it to be a 5th! Make sense? So a custom programmable scale wouldn't be adequate. This expression pedal method works great when you need to have the harmonizer deliver a different interval on certain notes.
Pete I thought that with just one H9 pedal you could create your own pedal board inside of it ..... not sure then why would you use one just for reverb and another just for pitch change when you could have both of those type of effects in one H9. Don´t get me wrong I think you are a REAL EXPERT and I am just a beginner , I just want to know if I´m correct or not, lol
Hey Pete, how is the pedal chain? I refer to the H9, Send or return or front of the Amp? can it take both per abd post signa??! hope you can advise! Cheers
Hi Pete, how do you place the two H9s in the effects chain? I'm guessing the one you use for pitch shifting is pretty early in the chain, before the distortions, right?
Hi, actually the 1st H9 is in my fx loop, so post-distortion, I find it works there quite well. The 2nd H9 (mainly reverb) is in my loop as well, it's last in the chain
Pete Thorn HI...so the 2 are in your musicomb lab switcher....the last 2 loops work in stereo in the Musicom LAB? from there the 2 outs to the front of the 2 amps?
If that's the same Suhr Classic S that he's had for a while, I think it is their "Cactus Green" Edit: btw - The colors listed on the site don't really represent the look under natural lighting very well. The color on the Suhr site looks a lot brighter, but it truly is much darker (and a bit greener) under more natural lighting.
I have the same pitchshifter and is quite good. This kind of effect works best if you put a bit of compression before them and a bit of overdrive after them. Playing with precission helps a lot too. Pete is a master both at playing and getting gorgeous tones. :)
"I recommend something like an H9" ... so, a H9 or Line 6 M5, those are the options. There's nothing else that does different types of effects and responds to midi.
sounds totally different if you just lay the 2 notes simultaneously as diads... using a Eventide harmonizer sounds more like 2 guitars playing at once!
your one of my top 3 guitar players that capture that tone in my head that i cant seem to extract, keep up the great work and put out more videos please.we love them.
Pete, you are simply the best my friend...no question about it...
thanks!
The Eventide H9 is definitely on my "want" list, along with Robert Keeley's new Compressor Pro and a switcher. Rock on Pete! Glad to see you're able to lead a successful life as a guitarist/musician!
REALLY GRT TO SEE YA PETE, DOING JUST WHAT YOU LOVE TO DO,
GREAT DEMO HAVE FUN AND LOT OF LUCK TO YA.
thanks Keith!
All i can say about your playing is Tasty!. You inspire me and make me proud to be Canadian.
Thanks! :)
Love that pete's on here answering. Thanks Pete.
U bet!

Thanks!
That long delay, wow that sounded nice, Good luck with the rest of the tour Pete.
Didn't realize you had some singles out. Of course I bought them immediately! Love the videos. Keep them coming.

Would love to see some of the h9 preset settings, maybe time for part 2 of your pedalboard demo ;)
Love my new H9 Max....Pete Thorn, you rawk!!!!
Great stuff pete ! The boards looking the goods too!
Pete's way of thinking: 2 H9s, a Timeline, and a Mobius. HAHA! Gotta love his boards!
Thanks Kyle!
Love your style Pete. Thanks alot for the great video. Trying to make the $600. jump into an H-9. Still cash short.. Stay well Tiger & rock on..
Great to see how you use these in a live context. I have a Space and an h9, so use them in a similar way. Do you find yourself using the Timeline and Möbius much, since you have a huge range of delays and modulations with the h9? Sounding great, thanks!
Pedalboard update video plz???
But can you talk about the pedals aswell this time thanks
Sorry for coming late to the party Pete, I'm very interested in buying an H9. Can't you do all those things with one unit and a midi controller? Why did you get two? Thanks for the awesome videos by the way!
Thanks Pete,I like those H9's also, but I love that guitar more!!
Awesome Pete!
Nice as always Pete!

I have & luv the H9. Perhaps a silly question: why not just play the 3rds then 5ths live?
Pete which one is better when it comes to modulation? The H9 or the Mobius? I've been watching your videos and they are very informative! Your pedalboard is really something every guitar player dream of!

Interesting. Could you please demo the effects on your Pedal Board ? thank you
you put up the videos Pete , and we will be watching
1:50 does anyone know, how to program that 3rd-to-fifth via exp-pedal?
As usual, a great demo of your live setup in Japan :)
I was wondering whether the H9 had an inteligent pitch shift or just regular pitch shift?
Hey Pete, whats your opinion on the Strymon Timeline and the Mobius. I see they are on your board and they have been for a while. Are they worth the money? I am thinking of running them in my loop of my Mesa Mark Five.
Love em both, I use trem, rotary, swell, etc on the mobius, and Timeline has been on my board for a long time.
pete, thanks for the video ,I love the h9 but darn it the line 6 m5 is about the same for $100, I mean you could buy 6 line 6 m5's or the price of one h9 max?!
Pete .. you need the Fractal FX-8

Could you post that Delay preset? :D sounds great!

3 years ago but it's still cool 👍
Please demo the Xotic wah!
it sounds really cool- my old Vertex (BBE) started crapping out in rehearsals for some reason, so I got the Xotic and I quite like it.
John Acosta Thanks so much! I did finally find out his name after a lot of searching. I love his guitar playing and will be watching his channel.

Hey Pete, how is the pedal chain? I refer to the H9, Send or return or front of the Amp? can it take both per abd post signa??! hope you can advise! Cheers
Which delay setting were you using at the end? You referred to it as a “vibey” delay?
Some updates since the early 2014 board!
thanks for taking time to respond!!!!
the spring verb is INTO the delay?
Hi Pete, how do you place the two H9s in the effects chain? I'm guessing the one you use for pitch shifting is pretty early in the chain, before the distortions, right?
Hi, actually the 1st H9 is in my fx loop, so post-distortion, I find it works there quite well. The 2nd H9 (mainly reverb) is in my loop as well, it's last in the chain
Pete Thorn Ok thanks a lot!!! I didn't think the pitch shifter could work well after distortion... Well, you never know!!! ;-) Have a nice day!
Pete Thorn HI...so the 2 are in your musicomb lab switcher....the last 2 loops work in stereo in the Musicom LAB? from there the 2 outs to the front of the 2 amps?
Anyone know what is the color on his strat? Look really nice.
If that's the same Suhr Classic S that he's had for a while, I think it is their "Cactus Green"
Edit: btw - The colors listed on the site don't really represent the look under natural lighting very well. The color on the Suhr site looks a lot brighter, but it truly is much darker (and a bit greener) under more natural lighting.
I know this video is all about the H9s, but what do you think of the Xotic Wah?
so far so good! I haven't had a lt of time to experiment but it's cool
That pedal board is vast in size!
If I want to get the pitch shifting effect that you demo'ed at the beginning of the video, which algorithm on the H9 should I buy?
the diatonic pitch shift one.....
Pete Thorn Thanks, Pete :)
You on the road with Melissa?
Sounds killer btw
Tsuyoshi Nagabuchi
Just watched a few vids of you and him...killer band.
Safe travels dude
I just realized you mentioned that in the video...ooops...hehe
How do you chain the two H9 ? Reverb second ?
What mission expression pedal do you use ?
Yes, reverb is last... they are in the fx loop of the PT
Pete, do you use these H9s in the effects loops of your amps or do you run them up front?
hi Eric, I run them in the loop
Thanks Pete! They sound great in your rig!
Are you using 2x pt-100? Different settings maybe?
2 heads in stereo!
Are they in the effects loop?
Beautiful sounding pitch shifter, typically I hate them, as they often sound cheesy. That simply sounds like another you.
I have the same pitchshifter and is quite good. This kind of effect works best if you put a bit of compression before them and a bit of overdrive after them. Playing with precission helps a lot too.
Pete is a master both at playing and getting gorgeous tones.
:)
Which pickups are on your Classic?
V60LP's
RUN!!!!!!
"I recommend something like an H9" ... so, a H9 or Line 6 M5, those are the options. There's nothing else that does different types of effects and responds to midi.
Except rack units (like the Eventide Eclipse btw)
Why do you need a pedal to play those intervals?
sounds totally different if you just lay the 2 notes simultaneously as diads... using a Eventide harmonizer sounds more like 2 guitars playing at once!
I thought it was multifx
Do you have 2 mics per cabinet? which one do you use?
I was trying the Shure KSM32's as well as a pair of 57's, we ended up going with just the 57's, although the KSM's sounded good as well
ok thanks for the response!!
