All I can say is I have a seal gray 2003 Boxster S, I just replaced my seatbelts over the Christmas holidays with brilliant red with a black border. I can definitely say it was easier than your Cayman, what a difference a little splash of color makes. Good job on your perseverance.

I have to ask, how did you get the panels off to get to the belt mechanism, I'm having no luck getting them off.

@@SITOREXX the carpeted panel? Just pull. Except the top middle might be connected. Mine wasn’t. If so you may have to remove that trim above it first

The interior trim doesn't like to come out (bastard) easy, but the upswing is it doesn't squeak & rattle like most of the newer cars. I see your headliner looks ok and if it's original, well that's amazing. If it's been replaced before, well you'll be doing it again sometime (hopefully never), as the adhesive is water based and fails. I replaced mine in 2018 and it went from good to a head towel overnight due to Hurricane Michael going by the coast, which provided the barometric swing and high humidity. I installed an upholstery grade material (crocodile) with a fabric backing (no bleed through) using 3M under hood adhesive (high heat resistant) to affix it. Foam backed will just fail again and I certainly don't want to go there again. You will need to remove all the interior trim back to and including the rear towers, so as not to scratch the hello out of those pieces; I had to repaint mine. I bent some of those trim clips and used 2 pairs of pliers to reform them to good as new. If I ever have to do the seatbelts I've got that down and thanks for the tutorial.

+@warrenlucier5796 you’re welcome! Your headliner sounds pretty cool! I think mine was replaced before I bought the car.

That it an insane amount of work (and trim removal) to get the belts out. End result looks great - but I gave up on thinking of this mod when you started taking pieces of the trunk/ rear latch out.

+localgovguy I agree, but after figuring it out, it can be done in about 30 minutes.

Take note that because of the pyrotechnic feature in the seat belt mechanism, a person shipping their belt to Seatbelt Planet will have to lie to the USPS by stating there isn't anything explosive in the package!

    • @HelpMeDIY

+mike dx maybe that’s why when I shipped it to them it got there faster than them shipping it back 🤔 😬 😂

Hey Mate, i m trying to change only the covers where the seatbelt goes trough (little one in the front and the one with the box)
