Samantha, yours was a wonderful reaction to a stunningly good rendition of this 50’s classic. I am a child of the 50’s and early 60’s, and Lucy has the rare ability to dissolve the intervening years and allow me to reconnect with my past. Humans are physically bound by the constraints of time, but Lucy’s art is so enrapturing that we are granted a slice of heaven for the three or four minutes it takes her to weave her magic.
STUNNING much more than stunning. This performance is crazy good. I think this is her best performance yet and that is saying something. Thank you for supporting Lucy and your amazing reactions. Please stay safe, healthy, and free.
Samantha you are 100% correct, today's pop music is sadly lacking in the shear class of the 50s, 60s and 70s. The amount of incredible songs written in those time periods are unsurpassed. Add the amazingly talented Lucy Thomas to any of these songs and the results are simply sublime. She deserves to become an international superstar, fingers crossed this happens in the next couple of years.
Lucys voice is like a fine tuned instrument, beautiful, silky smooth, emotion producing, there is truly is no one out there better! this was simply spectacular
Lucy is special , because she looks like an AI creation, but she is a real person. Not only in her videos but daily life. Anyone who met her in her concert was amazed of the humility and kindness of the full family. ♥️♥️♥️
Samantha, I agree with you 100% about how spectacular Lucy is. I am going to leave the comment I left her concerning this performance below. My Dearest Miss Lucy, As I was listening to this beautiful, soulful rendition of this timeless classic, my mind had visions of Bobby Hatfield quietly sitting there in the last row, mezmerized, with a tear rolling down his cheek. Unable to describe the feeling he just experienced. All he could do is joyfully appreciate her exquisite emotionally charged performance with the entire concert hall. In a reverent whisper, he thanked her for the performance of her life. As she was taking her bows, he faded into a mist, leaving nothing but a tear stained seat. Thank you so much, Miss Lucy, I love you! ❤😂
I was born 1951 so the 60's and 70's were my time and the 50's as well. Radio was a filter artists had to hone their craft and perform live well enough to get a recording contract and then get air time on a small number of radio stations and TV pop music programs. That filter is gone, radio and all other media outlets drown you with plastic computerised 10 minute stars each quickly forgotten for the next one. Talent like Lucy is out there but you have to find it yourself.
People think the Media knows who is talented and can sing, so they let the Media tell them who to listen to, when you dig, you find out this isn't true, I have been a fan of Lucy since she was 14, you could hear that promise, you could see she was meant to be on stage. i am closing on Retirement now, I never fell for it, you dig, and you find Diamonds like Lady Thomas^^
Lucy provides us with hope that "good" music will someday be back on the radio. As you mentioned, about the trash, I'll say no more. There is a lot of music from my teen and college years the is still played to this day because it is classic and holds up to this day (an example Moody Blues, Abba and others). How much of the current "hits" will be remembered in 50 years. Lucy has done some of the those "classics" and made them better as we have seen recently. It has been a privilege to have started following her for the past few years and thumb drive in my car is used to listen to her and music from my younger days in place of the stuff on the radio. Thank you for supporting Lucy and don't miss her live concert recordings from Manchester.
Would love her to perform 'Nights in white satin' by the Moody's,one of my favourite bands,I think it would be another classic song Lucy would do justice too!😊
🙂 agreed. Lucy brings new life to 'old' classics, restoring and enhancing these gems so we can enjoy them again and the younger generation can enjoy for the first time.
Samantha, your words and opinions are music to my ears. I agree with everything you say and I live in hope that singers with as much talent as Lucy has will eventually be recognised by the world of popular music and receive the success and rewards they so richly deserve. As the saying goes, the cream will always rise to the top. Lucy is the cream and she deserves to be recognised as such. Thank you so much for your beautiful reaction and your sincere and genuine support of Lucy and others like her.
Hi Samantha...Your comments are excellent and I agree with you about today's music. It's been rap for 30 years now and it is for no talents and people who like noise. Lucy is so smooth and each word is a song unto itself. I think Lucy should get an award. She is captivating and takes me to another place. There is no one like her today. She is unique and a treasure!
Thanks Sam. I’m amazed at what they consider good music today. Between auto tune, pitch correction and other crap, it’s hard to recognize any of it any more. Luckily, we have Lucy to show us how it’s done.
Lucy Thomas not only reads music but also writes, but also arranges the songs so that they suit her vocal range and she has a gift from God to sing so beautifully and cleanly.
Lovely reaction Samantha. You are right, the music today is so very unimpressive with few exceptions. Lucy sings these songs and then lays claim to them the vocals and breath control is so exceptional. She is a master.
Hola Samantha Bienvenido al mundo de Lucy Thomas. What can you say about this other than WOW. Beautiful song and Lucy as usual makes it her own. Lucy just keeps getting better with every song she releases at just 20 Lucy is probably the best vocalist in the World today. You ask the questions we all ask Why is she not a household name .When you listen to all the rubbish that are hailed as good singers today. Lucy´s time will come. Listen to anything from Lucy´s Channel (Lucy Thomas Music)they are all great. Great reaction Sam. Un Saludo
As Bruce Lee once said 'Be water my friend', meaning when you poor water into a pot, it becomes the pot, poor water into a glass it becomes the glass. When Lucy sings, she is like water, she becomes the song, she sings the song with all her heart and soul, she sings with clarity, smooth control, a beautiful softness, and breath control, she checks all the boxes. So Lucy 'be water my friend'.
She does and She has spent years practicing. Juliete YOSC. said that singers spend their lives trying to do what Lucy does with her voice at such a young age and never get to that level.
I completely understand you... That's why I love Lucy so much because she is true, humble, genuine and most importantly, "divinely gifted".. I honestly believe she's one of the rare few who are here at this time, "helping us "FEEL" again... (But that's just my perspective 😉) ❤🙏
Maybe I am wrong, but the "problem" with modern music is that there are so many ways to manipulate voices and instruments in any way. That does not happen with singers like Lucy, Angela and a few others: they rely totally on their own instrument, their pure voice and their gift to tell the story of the songs in the way they feel it is right. They are "not just" singing the song they are telling it as a story. And... what you hear is what you get: these singers are sounding live equally awesome as with a studio recording.
There has been some 'pitch correction' used with Lucy's studio recordings,(don't know about A,J.)but as we know she sounds amazing live,so wha was the need!🤔
@@johncollins392 There is no proof of This And I don´t know why you people keep pushing it in there. Lucy and her manager were asked this question at her concert .And she said she never uses pitch correction and never would. I know who I believe .
@@colinhea Me too. No tricks involved. Lucy and Angelina are too good for that. They do not need that. Another example of this is young Dutch singer Emma Kok. Check her out when you like good vocals. And we do, don't we?
Hola muchacha y bienvenida al „club de fans de Lucy“.., totally agree with your reaction except one thing: you said 50-60% of nowadays pop music vocalists are ..well.., not so good.. I would say 90-95%..! As I wrote once in someone else’s reaction, it’s like comparing any Burger King with a three stars Michelin restaurant. Un saludo 😎
Samantha I couldn't agree more about music. One thing I cannot understand is that people are going into overdrive about Angelina Jordan but I am afraid to me she does not measure up anywhere compared to Lucy. Personally I find Angelina's voice grating like a nutmeg on a cheese grater. I love Lucy because her smile voice tone are all soothing and beautiful but when I try to get people to listen to her I am met with apathy. It so annoys me that people are dismissing the greatest singer of our time without even finding out for themselves.
You just saw the best singer I the world! Your mouth was open 🤣 Yes, she swipes the floor with all traditional big shots. Todays 'misic' is fast money from crap.
Her breath control, range, and pitch are simply perfect......end of story. Words do not do justice and cannot describe what Lucy Thomas is able to communicate with her instrument. She turned 20 in February. As an aside.....I think her perfect pitch can rival Karen Carpenter's, but her range is better and so is her power.
Hello Samantha, your reaction to Lucy singing " Unchained Melody " was just so outstanding, did you know wiithout RUclips & reactors like yourself nobody would have ever heard of Lucy Thomas & her family. Her music is just so amazing. The main stream music channels only play Rap which is just rubbish, you only have to watch the BBC The European Song Contest which caters all night for Missfits, Perverts & Pedoifiles & they do not mind young children watching it, so discusting. This umfortuently is the sign of the times we live in. Please never come back to the UK you are far better off in Spain. Take care, Barbara.
I am going to rant too. I grew up in the 60’s, and so on. Listened to some not the same music as you. We have so called singers today that some you may like sue to their passion, but they are terrible singers. I grew up way before AUTO TUNE. If you could not sing close to being on pitch, you did not become a singer. One such person today that cannot sing that everyone just lives is Angelina Jordan. She is not good enough as a professional singer to have made it on my high school choir. She’s awful pitch wise. Her studio recordings sound fine but she can sing on pitch at all. Now to those who record music. Those who learned in college to work the mixing boards. They don’t know what they are doing. Back in my day. If you wanted to put on a RECORD of Frank Sinatra, you heard him up front, and the music was in the background where it is supposed to be. Today, there are too many albums where the music is the same volume as the soloist and it drowns the soloist out. They don’t know what they are doing. Also, they are teaching these new singers to put their mouth right against the mic. That muffled the sound. Watch SoHyang, that mic is always 2-3” away from her mouth. Nobody knows what they are doing today, and bad singers everyone loves. I just don’t get it. I have been an instrumentalist all my life. I am 62 and my ears are still better than most when it comes to hearing pitch. Hate me for calling out a singer, but it’s the truth. Either folks are liking someone because of who they are, or they can’t hear very well. That new girl, Emma Kok, she is past most everyone else at the young age of 16. She can walk out on stage and start singing half the song before the Orchestra comes in, and she has been on pitch the entire time. Most 40 year old pros can’t do that. They need to hear a note to know where to start. She doesn’t.
I am so glad that someone actually thinks the way I do about Angelina's hype. Began to think I was the only one who couldn't hear properly. Having said that AJ has just released her version of Unchained Melody. Most of the song is fairly mundane but it is worth hearing once if you have not already done so for the weirdest ending ever to this song .
