The richness and depth of Lucy’s lower register is second to none. Everyone who listens to Unchained Melody is waiting for that high note but, for me despite Lucy hitting it perfectly, it’s the way she tackles the rest of the song that makes it so special. Her voice can keep you warm in the winter yet give you chills in the summer. Unique. ❤
Lucy is as near perfect a vocalist as one can get!,& yes she has the ability to take on almost every style of music,it's not just her voice it's the way she delivers the song also,I bless the day I found her several years ago singing her cover of Snow Patrols 'Run'.😊
I have several notes on this and Lucy: At the end of the verse where she reaches a little and adds power her breath control really cones to the fore. She powers the high note, puts the vibrato in after a bit, then goes right into the next phrase; all in one breath. The feel of the song is all Lucy. She can put feeling and emotion in her voice. I've described it as she throws her self into whatever she is singing and the feeling becomes abundant. Other reactors have said "some artists sing the song and some perform the song". Lucy definitely PERFORMS what she sings. Another thing I notice in this and many other of her renditions is even though this is a Bust shot we see some body language and particularly bringing her hands to her chest makes it deeply a first-person moment. She's putting herself right there with us. Her voice is pure silk.

Hi Maria So glad you got round to this .its one of my all time favourites and Lucy just crushes it .I have heard a lot of different people sing this but Lucy again has made it her own. This is a very difficult song to sing but she makes it look so easy. Every time she puts out a new song its better than the previous one .I thought her live performance was her best a now we have this. Can you imagine how much better she is going to get as her voice matures even more. One reactor said "I think lucy is the greatest vocalist that´s ever lived". No way to prove that But I am sure she will be the best in my time. Great reaction Maria and I agree with what you say. Thanks for continuing to support Lucy Maria stay safe.

Oh yes, It is definately sleight this rendition all through perfectly melodiouse of beauty richness of voices silky lower tone vocals tender softly timeless.
Did you notice: that last note she held on for just over 12 seconds... Talking about breath control! Both Lucy Thomas and Angelina Jordan are bringing this song to a new level and they both do it in their own unique way: I love that. And to me what songwriter/composer Toby Gad said not long ago so nicely about Angelina is also true for Lucy: "She is a World star, just not known in the World yet. But that's going to change." Lucy and Angelina, that would be a couple to do a duet together...

@@lawrenceb5236 Do what you want but I really do not give a rats ass about Chris or Larryshair as I can and have been commenting on his reacts, he has been an ego freak from the start took over 6 months to get him to play Lucy's OVER THE RAINBOW after he had slobbered and drooled over Evas version, before he knew of Lucy, why he drug his feet because he knew Lucy was a better singer but his ego had put his foot in his mouth, he eventually played Lucys version, but had a lot to say about"SOMEONE" being on him to play Lucy, yeah now he loves Lucy but he hates the taste of crow feathers !! For me he talks too much and off the subject of the video.

This song was nominated for an Oscar. Based on its popularity since, it probably should have won.

You can’t beat Bobby Hatfield. He was the best singer of this song.
No contest. Look up Bobby singing live on the "Andy Williams Show" way back in 1965. No autotune just a very small mic. Best live performance i ever saw.
Opinion is subjective, not absolute, so don't dismiss those who believe that Lucy's rendition is at least as good as, if not better than, Bobby's cover! 😊
@@1HURRICANEHI agree, and disagree. Bobby's rendition is, for me, the best 'live' performance, but Lucy has not sung this song in concert yet, so I am open to changing my mind! To dismiss Lucy's video rendition as 'no contest' is ludicrous and indicative of someone with a closed mind! Lucy both revives and, for me and others, sets the new standard for a great song! 😊

Lucy's style is fantastics clean pure music, not a bunch of just noise in the background you couldn't hear her sing over.
