It took them a good 45 seconds or so to get that fan off the limo. I remember the Taker vs JBL match being flat, while I personally enjoyed Eugene vs Triple H the best. You could see the slot in the limo where I was seated after they got em off. Edge was a very dull babyface in 2004 as well. Jericho was definitely the crowds pick. Orton vs Benoit was a beauty. Not surprised he went over that night.
I usually get annoyed with Bruce’s deflecting but he did give me a different perspective in regards to the lowbrow thing. I always have considered wrestling to be pretty lowbrow even though I do love it but his America’s Got Talent example is really enlightening. The problem is though that the low brow stuff is REALLY low brow, the kind of stuff that makes you think “I hope no one walks in right now”. If the depths of the bad segments weren’t so fucking silly, I think fans and outsiders alike may not consider wrestling to be so lowbrow.
Its not like Bruce has anything interesting to add now that his balls are again with wwe and each episode gets shorter and shorter. Might as well let conrad get his shit in and extend the time a little.
Welcome To Something To Listen To While At Work. Typical British Summer. It's raining and we have flood warnings. Is Bruce allowed to talk about Chris BenError404 ??
Ugg that Conrad commercial was jarring, and really kind of terrible. Instead of interrupting with a commercial with bad audio, why not just have text scroll during instead of just having the static image of Bruce and Conrad
Can't lie, grilling jr kinda kill this show for me. Jr is more insightful and provides more information since he was head of talent during the attitude area
I listen to both and enjoy the differences between each. JR definitely seems to have a little more insight, but I can find him a little frustrating as he has that older mans tendency to ramble a bit. Bruce on the other hand glosses over a lot of stuff, and also spins some of the facts, but he is a lot sharper and more entertaining....and there's no doubting the chemistry between Bruce and Conrad
I like JRs podcast and love this one. This podcast makes me laugh alot because of the way they interact. It seems conrad won't talk to Jim the way he does Tony or Bruce. Plus jimbo, in my opinion seems bitter at times but he shows a sense of humor
I'd like to see Conrad do a little talk about all the crap in that room. He's only a couple years older than me, and looks like we had similar influences and likes. Eugene was such an awesome character, and he was so good in the ring. I wish he had it better in the company. He could've been an inspirational wrestler if done the right way.
I got back into WWE because of Benoit and Eddie's push and was a Brock mark. But the diva search, Benoit dropping the title and Eugene turned me off of RAW. Then I only watched Smackdown til it got bad in 2005
I don't know why Rey Mysterio (Cruiserweight champion) with Billy Kidman and Paul London (Tag Team champions) vs. Spike Dudley and the Dudley Boyz was on the pre show. That was a good fuckin' match and honestly (unless I missed it because there was so much talking) Bruce and Conrad should've talked about that match. It was very underrated!
Wasn't Benoit supposedly slotted to win the belt back again at the PPV that took place the night the tragedy was discovered? I seem to remember hearing/reading that somewhere a while back. I think CM Punk ended up winning the title that night instead, if I remember correctly.
1:05:40.; My dad told me the same thing when I was looking for jobs. I was in middle school, at the time & I asked him for some advice as far as how to dress/etc. & that was one of the very first pieces of advice he told me...
It did seem like Eddie and Chris had longer runs as champ. I think things went so much faster at that time then they even do now that 5 months was a long run.
Eugene v HHH on the ppv was fine and appropriate. Needed a reason for HHH to be away from Benoit Orton. Good storyline on raw with evolution manipulating Eugene and it leading to this. Great change from regal initially against but falling in love with the sport of Eugene. As time goes on euegue may feel overdone but at this point absolutely fine placement on the card and opponent
I’m so happy about this show. Orton winning the belt was a big moment for me as a child. I wish they would’ve put the belt on him this year at Summerslam for the 15th anniversary of his first world title but Benoit ruined that for us
I HATE CHARLOTTE.... VERY OVERRATED, ONLY 2 REASONS FOR HER PUSH.... 1. STICK IT TO BRET AND NOT GIVE THAT ACCOMPLISHMENT TO THE MORE DESERVING NATALIA.... 2. RIC FLAIR'S DAUGHTER.... HAD HOGAN BEEN WITH THE COMPANY IT PRETTY MUCH WOULDVE BEEN BROOKE GETTING ALL THOSE PUSHES
I always thought Randy Orton got the belt a few months too soon..I hate saying this but Hhh should have beat benoit and then Randy should have beat hhh at wm 05..that would have pushed Batista back but still I think Randy had it sooner than he should have.
Last week it was an episode about Jericho, this week it's an episode of a show that was headlined by Benoit. Can't imagine Vince is too thrilled with this line-up lol
The Diva Search segment was some of the worst segments. How many of them actually wanted to be in the business? many a couple of them. Most were models at the same time looking to gain new jobs. How many of them knew the wrestling business. When I think of this edition of Summerslam, I agree with Bruce and Conrad. I think of Randy Orton putting his stamp on this business. Eugene was a character, I never understood. He was extending his 15 minutes of fame. It was weird that Edge was booed in Toronto, Canada. This was a rare time that Canadian wrestling fans were ass backwards and cheered the heels and booed the faces.
randy's 2004 face turn sucked because it was a complete 180. when austin turned, he was still the same guy but now feuded with heels. orton went from spitting in people's faces and throwing legends down the stairs to shaking hands and kissing babies.
Yeah, John Cena & Randy Orton Weren't Exactly Those Mega Stars & They Still Aren't Today. They/Especially John Cena Were Overused & Overpushed. The Last Summerslam I've Enjoy All The Main Event Matches Of Was 2003, Which Was The Elimination Chamber Match, Consisting Of Kevin Nash. Triple H, Shawn Michaels. Goldberg, Chris Jericho & Randy Orton, Mainly Because Of The First 4. Brock Lesnar & Batista Should've Been Those Mega Stars Instead Of Cena & Orton Being The Faces Of The WWE For Almost 10 Years & Indy Vanilla Midgets Following.
That is such crap that Bruce didnt know orton was the youngest world champion in history. Such crap. It was documented everywhere and used in storyline. What is the point of lying about that? Its like he wants it to come off as organic because it was a huge milestone and is trying to capitalize on it.

Foley’s book also sold more because of the timing of the release when the biz was at its hottest.
Not really sure.... But I think Foley's book sold more because HE WAS NEVER A TOP GUY, people were intrigued of how he came up in the BUISNESS....
2:47 starts the show.
5:00 interrupts the shit out of the show
Its true what they say, you really are a good ole boy Jay Arr!!!

mick foley's books sold more because he wrote it. it was a word for word telling from his experience. it was his jokes, his point of view, everything.

Are you serious my episode got interrupted with a Conrad ad
Its not like Bruce has anything interesting to add now that his balls are again with wwe and each episode gets shorter and shorter. Might as well let conrad get his shit in and extend the time a little.
Conrad outta nowhere
I must have woke on the wrong side of bed cuz that got on my last nerve
N also sounded like he recorded it in the bathroom while shitting.
Conrad would love poutine. Fries, gravy, and cheese curds.
Anything with Freedom Fries is a winner
Conrad would love anything judging by his size
Ummm … Idk why but the word "poutine" and the word "curds" sound so F'N gross!

Randy Orton is definetly a natural heel!!! Especially THAT Randy Orton!
Consider this if you're around 30: the time difference between 2019 and 2004 is the same as the difference between 2004 and 1989.

I'm mad about Tajiri getting robbed too, but I'm still mad about Bam Bam getting robbed at King of the Ring. I'm glad to see that come back.
Dark years right here. Summerslam 99 please! Anything post 2002 is just depressing.
Rschr101 i say 2006 cuz 2003 was awesome & 2004 -2005 was still decent.
Today’s wrestling is depressing not back then, was the matter with you
The Miz came in as a fucking Actor on real world road rules..and he's been able to do really well and turn into an actual good wrestler
smackdown in sturgis. Goldberg vs Taker in a low key big hog off

Just watching through 2004 on the network now.
Was fine with Eugene in this match especially with a need to get HHH busy so Orton could challenge
Shawn also retain the intercontinental title at SummerSlam 93
Conrad looks like a bearded Paul Bearer
