This was my first WrestleMania after I got into wrestling in late summer 93. I was nine years old. I remember watching this vividly at home. Thank you guys so much for doing this. Brought back lots of good memories.
Wrestlemania 10 has always held a special place in my heart because it was the first pay per view I ever ordered when I was an 11 year old kid. I wasn't much of a wrestling fan long after that unfortunetly. The only two great matches on the card Bret vs Owen and Shawn vs Razor are matches that I still watch today.
Lmao I loved the black and gold ropes!! I noticed them at #9 when I was 9 years old and when my dad took me #X the first thing I noticed was the black and gold ropes!!! I even commented on them to my dad... he didn't understand and worried that his son had OCD! Heheh
My friend and I thought Yoko slipped off the rope because he saw Undertaker high up in the crowd or something and was terrified. We thought that was the angle at first. That he just slipped is stupid.
It gave the look that Yoko choked and lost rather than Bret winning. Really bad way to end a dominant reign and no way to get Bret over as the top guy.
Barry Windham was in WCW at the time. Can't say he wasn't visiting at Wrestlemania, but it was certainly not common knowledge that he would be. And hell, Burt even did a backstage angle with Rhonda Shear. It sounds like there's a lot of cool stories, but maybe Bruce's memory is a little foggy. It really showed that Burt was having fun out there. If he was not a wrestling fan, he was good actor.
Bret never needed convincing for Owen going over, Bret has even stated that these guys originally wanted the brother Bret was feuding with to be Bruce Hart. Owen was going over no matter what. Bruce always taking suttle shots at Bret. Read Brets book. Patterson at first wasn't a believer in Owen either. Bret had to fight for Owen.
Yep, was just about to mention that Bret advocated for Owen to go over. Bruce is always so full of shit when it comes to Bret and is almost always demonstrably wrong. Then again, he's not so hot with factual details, which is why he also thought Barry Windham was in the WWF at this time.
It wasn't so much that he gave "credit" to Luger. More going against the "Lex was awful" grain saying saying if Lex wasn't a pro it would have looked like shit

Owen was such an over-the-top goody goody babyface and flipped into the most obnoxious heel- and then they cooked it for a solid year before the epic match against Bret. That was SO great.
Little Richard is the king or one of the kings of rock and roll in 1994 and in any other year since he actually one of the ones who invented the shit. And Bruce no need to apologize, the show last week was good.
I was like 7 years old at this time and a huge WWF fan. This was the only PPV event i didn't get to see that year. I saw it years later and i consider it a an underrated show even though the opener and ladder match are all that was great about it, those two matches are incredible in their own way. I do agree that the ending is kinda weak with Yoko just falling off the ropes. I thought they should have had Fuji enter the ring with Corny distracting the ref and Yoko tying up Bret in order for Fuji to throw the sand in his eyes like in Wrestlemania 9 the year before. Bret ducks, yoko gets the sand, Bret throws out Fuji and puts the Sharpshooter on a blinded Yoko for the submission. Owen coming to the aisleway in disbelief was awesome though. For all the silly characters and transistion the WWF was in i still thought the Owen vs Bret feud throughout the year was really good.
They didnt want Yoko getting beaten too decisively, he was about to go on the road with Earthquake and even then they were planning on him being strong for a run with Taker later in the year. Different times.
Definitely excited. This is one of the PPVs that truly stands out as one of my best wrestling memories as a kid.. probably for how much I had to beg my parents to order it. Thank you for diving into this one!
Me and my brother have had a great sibling rivalry over the years. He’s 7 years older then me and for some reason I always seem to get the upper hand on him with most games we play 😂😂
Why not have Bret shake the ropes, causing Yoko to slip, then move out of the way when he falls to pin him? Yoko falling on his own is blah, but big Bret Hart fan. He can have a good match with anyone.

Last weeks topic Wrestlemania 20 already had Royal Rumble and No Way Out 2004 each having a podcast in the archive section. This was a great pay per view. However 1994 was a weird business year for the company considering the trial and the fact that this was the first Wrestlemania without Hulk Hogan. I think Alundra Blayze and Leliani Kai WWF Womens Championship was screwed for a couple of reasons: 1. There was no build for the match plus it was followed the weirdness of Randy Savage and Crush. I honestly forgot as I watched this the other day that Earthquake and Adam Bomb worked at mania. The reason was that the main story was Harvey and Howard.
I remember watching this with my dad at age 13, we actually had it for free because we had the blackbox...which means it was illegal, but we had it up until 2003, but I remember being amazed at the Ladder match between Razor Ramon vs Shawn Micheals, so meny great memorable matches, way better than the last 3 Wrestlemanias before 1994, that's for sure, great memory to look fondly of. Damn I hate it when Conrad gets so offensive about the Bill Clinton impersonator I mean Jesus Christ Conrad it’s not that big of a deal. I thought it was hilarious. Also let Bruce talk.
Idk what's funnier, the fact that Bruce was petty enough to prank Meltzer into thinking Lex Lugor would be WWF Champion at WMX, or the utter disappointment in Conrad's voice when Bruce tells him that it was just to fuck with Meltzer.
No more live shows scheduled after WrestleMania weekend. But if you live in Houston I supppse you could try cornering Bruce somewhere and asking for stories. Lol
@1:44:00 bruce says it isnt about who brings the idea. it is about who uses it. supposedly the same thing occurred with broadus clay. he came up with the "Hall of pain" gimmick but it was used by mark henry.
Hypothetically speaking, how did Randy Savage pitch his conception of the blow off match with Crush for WrestleMania X? I was so stoked for it because of Vader and Cactus Jack in their Texas Death Match at Halloween Havoc 1993: this one being a Macho Man match with similar rules! What matches of Randy 'Macho Man' Savage, if any, could've been considered any worse than WrestleMania X's? #LoveToKnow
I know hindsight is 20/20, but it would have made way more sense to have Lex steamroll Yoko in a few minutes, then face Bret in the last match of the night to have the fan guessing as to who would come out on top. It would of even fixed the time running heavy issue.
Good thing it wasn't me backstage producing that stuff because my response to those celebrities after being cussed out would be: *"You're our guest here tonight and you have one job to do. Either do what you're told or GTFO. We don't need you."*

Wait! Wait! Great fact just made. Hogan did have WCW guys in his Thunder In Paradise tv series. Eric Bichoff swears he approached Hogan while Hogan was filming. If Hogan had WCW guys already in the series than Hogan was already in business with WCW the entire time the series was being filmed.
Good podcast
Would love to hear what the plan was if Luger had won the coin toss...
Luger did win the coin toss
Hate the ads but understand just saying love listening to these stories while I'm trying to relax great job guys
I find it hard to comprehend that there was a time when WrestleManias had to be held in arenas to fill the seats rather than stadiums.
I think the Yoko/Luger match may have been ass because Yoko knew he'd be wrestling later and wanted to pace himself aka not do shit.
49:00 WrestleMania X begins
Damn I hate it when Conrad gets so offensive about the Bill Clinton impersonator I mean Jesus Christ Conrad it’s not that big of a deal. I thought it was hilarious. Also let Bruce talk.
No shit. Conrad was a serious asshole about that. And the Clinton impersonator WAS entertaining.
Leave my Conrad alone
THE GOOD GUY shut up
Can you guys talk about the reason behind moving John Cena to Raw and Batista to Smackdown in mid 2005??
Cena was becoming more popular than Batista so they switched them to get the most popular guy on the Raw brand (The A Show in their eyes)
He beat everybody on smackdown so now they needed John to beat everyone on raw lol. His first victim- Chris Jericho
That 57 minute mark was awesome lol
Idk what's funnier, the fact that Bruce was petty enough to prank Meltzer into thinking Lex Lugor would be WWF Champion at WMX, or the utter disappointment in Conrad's voice when Bruce tells him that it was just to fuck with Meltzer.
I love the story's i don't know how to find the Conrad but if you could show me/us i would love to promote you and E.C as well. As Brother Love
So great glad Bruce sounds rested
WrestleMania X7 soon. The one we've all been waiting for!!!!
@@SomethingToWrestle
very good
Yep listening to it today. Really would love Backlash 2000!!
So when you day "gate" is that strictly ticket sales revenue or do you include merchandise and how about food and drinks?
I think Bret should of kicked the rope to make Yoko trip. Would of been true to the hitman character imo
Should HAVE. Would HAVE.
Bruce is right, you can get away with being a terrible promo if you're a heel. It actually gets you more heat.
New to this show. Does anyone know where I can find schedule? Trying to see when they’re coming to Houston, TX.
With Bruce working back at WWE, dont think there is gonna be live shows for a min
Please come to CT, RI, or MA! Preferably Eastern CT or Central MA!
#LoveToKnow
WM 10 vs Crush & WM 2 vs George The animal steel were average at best
I know hindsight is 20/20, but it would have made way more sense to have Lex steamroll Yoko in a few minutes, then face Bret in the last match of the night to have the fan guessing as to who would come out on top. It would of even fixed the time running heavy issue.
You have done all my héroes, bit for the love of God when in the world are You guys doing road warriors/L. O. D.?!?!?!
Ps I cheered when u did Sid!

What's the song from 5:13. I think it's the entrance of someone in the early 90s? Can't think of who it is.
Sounds like Burt Reynolds cut a grade A promo on Bruce
Good thing it wasn't me backstage producing that stuff because my response to those celebrities after being cussed out would be:
*"You're our guest here tonight and you have one job to do. Either do what you're told or GTFO. We don't need you."*
Lol Burt Reynolds would have kicked your ass.
@@teddynitro2733 No, he wouldn't have.
@@teddynitro2733 Do you really think a celebrity is going to attack a producer for throwing him out? I'd tell him to f_ck off right to his face, and I'd beat the sh_t out of him if he jumped me. Plus I'd have six or seven body guards and stage hands who could join in with me. Do you think I'd be the slightest bit intimidated when I have an ENTIRE CREW of co-workers who have my back? lol. You really are a dumbf_ck.
@@taekwondotime Dude, Jennie Garth would have kicked your butt.
It was SOOOOO unfair that Yokozuna had to defend the title against both Lex Luger and Bret Hart in one night.
Did triple death Match not exist back then ?
@@HhhHhhh-nu4lm nope
That’s why the second challenger had an initial match.
@@aquarian7 But if Bret lost the first match, there would have been no negative repercussion - he still would have faced Yoko for the title. If Yoko lost to Lex, he would have obviously lost the belt. How many people can get back to back wins against Luger and Bret?
8:10 start time
16:35 "when you know the truth about things and then you read the newspapers and it's just full of untruths and lies...just horseshit...what you're reading out there just wasn't real." - Bruce Prichard 2019. "People who question the official narrative of 9/11 are just conspiracy theorists" - Bruce Prichard 2019.
...Sounds like Bruce may be a bit of a conspiracy theorist himself to be questioning the good ol' mainstream media. :)
Am I the only one who thinks that Conrad look a lot like Kenny Powers with his face photoshopped on Razor/Scott?
56:50 is where it gets funny!
Me and my friend noticed the spittle, too!! That great moment for Owen and he has that big white splotch on the side of his mouth.
Thank you Ed at 2:02
I love Conrad!!!! 57:54 needs to be on a shirt!!!!!!
