I was talking about Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck and Jimmy Hendrix to my Dad back in 70’s and he told me Roy Clark was the best. I blew him off thinking Roy was just some country bumpkin. After seeing this I wish my dad were still alive so I could tell him he was right!!! Miss my dad!!!

This video is doubly interesting to me because it starts as a typical sitcom, but when he starts playing it transcends anything the audience has ever seen or heard. When he finishes playing, the energy returns to a normal sitcom, canned laughter and commercial break. It feels like something from another dimension entered an ordinary room in the 70s and then left without a word.

He has never been mentioned as a great guitarist probably because he is country and not rock and roll.
