a bit late to the game, but you'll need to enable the internal USB in the UEFI before you can use it; for security reasons. It's also strange, since also for security reasons, booting from USB is normally disabled in the UEFI too...
Years late. The PCIe slot will only deliver a maximum of 35 watts. As they were only designed for low power GPUs to supply extra monitors. They will happily power a quad NIC or a 10gb NIC. remeber these are NOT designed to be general purpose PCs. They are designed to connect to a server instance over a remote desktop protocol.
Recently found a tossed out Dell Wyse AIO 5470. Has Thin OS 9.3.1129, with what I think is a quad core 1.5Ghz (Intel). Has roughly a 25(?)GB SSD. Would it be possible to uninstall Thin & turn it into a Chrome based PC? I think with a larger capacity SSD, 250GB or so, maybe some additional RAM, it might be able to run Win 10 Tiny, or Linux
@@DistrosProjects thank you 🤓 not sure what to do with it! As a kind of hobby I look for electronics in dumpsters and curbside stuff! The 5470 has 1080p resolution!
Thin clients with atom x5/x7s, certain AMD chips and Pentium Silver N5005/6005 make a pi 4 or 5 look extortionate! If you don't need gpio etc they make good sense
It would have been nice to see a comparison with Mint XFCE which I would expect to run noticeably better.

For any testing experiment or usage of a new computer, I use eclipse by Pink Floyd to test if it works
Hey man, would you think a T740 thin client would work smoothly for running adobe programs and coding software perhaps?
It’ll run coding software fine, but adobe programs probably won’t run well.

So it already had a small SSD? Why would you want to keep the client software on it and not install Mint there?
It wasn’t my thin client, it was owned by my dad’s company and he loaned it to me for a short time.
can i install chrome os or flex os on t430 ??
Yes, you can install Chrome OS Flex on a T430.
?????? Updates

Ngl, that’s a sexy amount of DisplayPorts. I mean...four for the love of gawd...so long as you can stand an AMD 4...what now? 😂
great. I have a Thin client and I want to Upgrade it. can I do this?
