I tried to install Openmediavault to T620 but it could not boot for some reason. Running TrueNAS and works well. Only using to share an external HDD. Thanks for the video.
I cant find the source where ive read this, but someone said not to mix any screws, msata screw is not standard if i remember correctly, so, if you use anything other than the one that comes with it, it will crossthread and ruin it. The difference is really small, looks similar, goes in pretty smooth for the fist couple turns, but you dont notice it until it is too late, it said. Take it with a grain of salt, i cant find the source to quote and am too lazy to measure them now.
hi, when i install it, it says after "sucessfull" installation. no operation system found - same shit as happens on your vid at 10:08 - .... how did you resolve this? you plase stand by screen is not helping.
@@Petike01 + power drawn for HDDs, and external power supplies for any external hard disk(s) - whether they spin down or not when idle could make a big difference though.

Install in legacy BIOS mode, not in UEFI mode.
I got a message after installation that no bootable disk can be found. Did you have that too?
Did you install in UEFI or legacy mode? UEFI didn’t work for me at all with FreeNAS.
@@nelizmastr Thanks, i will check that!

Can we use 2usb 3 and 2 usb 2 for 4 hdd?
Technically yes
Openmediavault is much better than freenas, it if much more efficient and will run better on lower end hardware.
do you use usb 3.0 disk?
Yes
Can I use wireless on truenas??
No. They don’t support WiFi because it doesn’t belong on a server. If you can’t use ethernet, buy a wireless bridge.
@@nelizmastr which Open source NAS Os supports wireless connectivity?
@@unrealbot3027 You can install Samba on any Linux distro and configure that for file shares, and use that as a NAS, or something like OpenMediaVault.
