So I'm always skeptical of these RUclips mechanic videos, but this is probably the best video for information, very well put together and in depth but not convoluted with nonsense info. Great video! Keep it up
I've been learning this stuff for 30 plus years and I fully understand what you be saying but I watched one of your videos and you said you've been in this for 10 years your knowledge is amazing for a 10 year man keep up the great videos and be very proud because I've seen guys come to work with 10 years experience and can't do half of what you do
You are a money saver brother. Recently changed my air back clockspring and was surprised to get the vdc off and slip lights and was pretty perturbed. Appreciate the video. Since my car is a 2006 I keep a Bluetooth autel odbii scanner connected to my vehicle and was able to reset with your instructions. The autel odbii tool made me think I needed to have the car running and move it forward and hit start. That didn't work but having the key in the on position an pressing start did. Thanks a million.
Man thank you ! it worked. I manage to get rid of my ABS 1143 code. I have in infinity qx50 2017 and I used the Autel MaxiSIS. I had to post this in gratitude for the work that you have done!.
Thank you for the video holmes. I tried to reset the traction light on my Nissan truck. I did do it right the first time. It's just the clockspring I had got from the dealership wasn't the right part but has the same exact part #. The OEM clockspring was not even engaging the steering angle sensor. So it did not make any sense to reset the light in the first place!...but yes, I went thru the right steps on our shop scan tool. Like you just showed us.
I heard a ticking coming from the left wheel while moving from a stop.. The ticking is now gone and I have that same code directly after. 2012 Sentra however the steering is also pointed a little to the left. Just picked up the car used so no history. Thanks for the video, I'll probably try this route before trying to find what was ticking as I have been under the car b4 and saw nothing obvious.
Did this vehicle have an air ride system? If so, did it, by chance, allow that to start working properly? I have these same lights on, but when they came on, my air ride also stopped working, which is what is causing the back wheels to lean in so much.
What model snap on scanner are you using? Techs at a gm dealer have no idea about this option or steering angle issues I want to rent a scanner and do it myself
I have this problem too, but it is worse than the video. I already had it worked on, aligned twice. My steering wheel is loose to the left and right while going straight, and it makes grinding noises every time the slip light comes on like the abs is kicking in. I removed the busted rear airbags for regular shocks and replaced the coil springs. These are poorly designed vehicles. Everything I fix seems to break a second time. If I try to switch lanes with a curve to it, it feels like the steering wheel has too much play, like I'm almost about to wreck. I was told I need a clockspring, and the rack is leaking. I guarantee you that if I fix it, it will only last temporarily.
I have SLIP light and ABS light and AWD light on after mechanics replaced front wheel hub bearing assembly. Did they do something wrong. They tried to tell me the abs line needs to be repaired. Or did they brake my stuff
What can be done if it happens that whenever you switch on a car all dash signs appears and disappears but for VDC and Airbag not seen at all? ? While they should appear and dissapears as others do?
Hey man! been dealing with this issue for months my abs kicks on, on its own and literally stops me in my tracks even though I went nowhere near the breaks. super messed up. i really don't want to spend a bunch of money at the dealer because I already spent to break this in the first place and accomplish nothing more. can I reset it with a regular code scanner?
Mine did the same thing but mine would come on when I go down the road a little an it turnt out to be the alignment than once I got the alignment it didn’t come back on the lights stayed off
I had car other day issue was car was out of alignment car was hit on drivers side it had slightly bend strut we replaced strut did a alignment solved the problem so alignment can cause light to come on.
Thanks, best explanation. I have the same problem the vcd off and slip permanently I try to clear dtc with scan nothing hapend the dtc Steering Angle Sensor back again how can fix ps: I HAVE change the Clock Spring Spiral Cable fx35 2007 is there adjustment for clock also?,,,
I have this issue, is it bad driving like that while i have a chance to take it to the shop? Note: i installed lowering spring and havent done an alignment just yet, will that be the problem? Thanks.
@@HomieHektor no, this just happened 2 days ago and i installed the spring in new years. They turned on this morning on my way to work, and when i got out and turned the car on to head home the ligjts didnt come back on. Its weird

So i just had this problem just today when the shop changed the Clockspring on my truck. I bought it in Ebay aftermarket i believe.....not OEM. So what its doing now after it was installed is when i drove away from the shop it started having the VDC problem like a pulsating/grinding effect. Brought it back to the shop and they inspected. They found out that the Steering Angle Sensor was not functioning..........the scanner showed it zero degrees on straight and when turning the steering wheel left and right it still stays at zero degrees. Do you think the Clockspring is bad or not compatible with the OEM Steering Angle Sensor thats why its not reading it? Or the Clockspring connected to the Steering Angle Sensor need to be calibrated or do a relearn?? Does it need alignment and they need to reset the Steering Angle Sensor?? Please help.
Great video! I got my traction control light on, on my g37.I recently took it to a shop to install a new steering wheel and the clock spring was damaged. They replaced my clock spring but the VDC light is still on. I think this will take care of the issue but my horn and volume controls, cruise control are not working also. Any tips to fix this?
My steering wheel is straight, I just did the alignment and she drives straight as an arrow and I just reset the sensor and it reads 0.0 so the reset worked but the lights are still on.
Hey Hector nice video .I want to buy a 07 M45 but it has on the VDC an slip light on so you think by giving it a wheel alignment and adjusting the steering angle sensor it should be fine. Have been checking the internet you have the best video I've seen so far

yu da man paana, have same problem 04 fx35 kicking my ass, replaced clock spring and angle sensor ,same p,now ill get an alignment and reset and see, thnkyu, wish me luck
No. Not your issue. Your car is in limp mode for 2 reasons. Either the valve body has to be replaced or your transmission isn't getting enough current.(voltage). What error codes are you showing
I have a 2005 FX35 and my light VDC and Slip came on as I pulled out the garage. The engine runs but car doesn’t have power in forward or reverse. Also the service engine soon light came on.
I have code c1143 Nissan altima 2010 2.5L Symptoms: steering wheel is not aligned, way off... I turn on the car, lights stay on for 4 seconds, they turn off and when I drive away. 8 seconds later the VDC and slip light pops out and I loose power. I don't completely loose power but I feel the lag. What I've done: I did replace the drivers side tie rod end. (My suspicions is that it got misaligned and now the VDC and slip light is on) How I tried to fix the issue by doing research: topped brake fluid, checked brake pads, replace both speed sensors, checked fuses, checked pedals sensor (both) check for bad connections and bad wire. Problem persist. My question: If I don't have a scanner can I just do an alignment and replace the angle sensor? If so would the light on the VDC and slip will stay on if I don't reset the VDC
