@@enlightenedmystery9019 it seems like your setup is not right , i have 1855db+ t5 and even if it goes standby on low volume if some bass is played it comes back.
Sharp and punchy, the speaker itself does not have a long range witch in terms is a bad thing for a subwoofer , but given the fact that its only 70w its pretty good , the speaker range is limited witch makes it perfect for a small room, the bass itself is good , not delayed and/or distorted like on other SW i had before.

R1855DB has sunwoofer output level very low, so the config must be from audio player go to T5 go to edifier R1865DB. I dont like to put any amplifier (also T5) to the near maximum level, in general near maximum level the noise will be much easu to hear, like humm, hiss, or static sound. The alternate (which is better) is from audio player, go to active crossover, then from there we can spread both to T5 and to 1855DB. I use edifier edifier R1700Bts, when sub out is attached, the bass frequency of R1700Bts it self will be cut automatically (in purpose to "give" the bass to other subwoofer), thats why i use cheap crossover only 10-15 usd
I had more than 5 speaker of edifier and I bough them for my friends, all edifier speakers divided in two categories, first have bass but weak mid and highs, second haven't bass but have some mid and high, they are Miles behind jbl, harman, sony, never buy agine
they are also 2-3x cheaper so i don't get your comment here ? :D i mean yeah you can go with Aipulse 300 but they are pretty good and way better than bassboosted JBLs

Will subwoofer work along side studio monitors or more geared to be paired with desk speaker ?
We need Edifier to make a 10 and 12 inch subwoofer that has lower frequencies.
And a switch for off / on / auto. Because the T5 goes into standby all the time on low volumes.
