- I carve a pumpkin or two every year and I love it. It’s not very complicated and anyone can do it, but there are some things that will make it a bit easier and give you better looking results. So in this video I show my way of carving pumpkins and share my techniques.
What you’ll need:
- Pumpkin
- Old newspapers
- Towel
- Small kitchen knife or pumpkin carving set
- Spoon
- Pencil
- Printed pattern
- Tape
- Needle
- Bleach
- Rubber gloves
- Candle or lamp

Bonus tip if you carve a small hole in the back of the pumpkin near the bottom it will act as an air intake
What does that do
@@iamboxboynooneelseisboxboy its so the light can stay on longer

The game
I really enjoyed your carvings. This is the first tutorial I've seen on removing the outer layer. TFS PS Thinning the inside where the design goes is life changing.
Glad to hear it was helpful to you!
Your suppose to cut a vent at the top within the lid so the candle doesnt burn out or soot up the top. Helpful hint. Just a small V hole would suffice. Where you cut the v notch to align the lid is what I use for my vent. To keep the notch there still i just cut the V in half so the notch is still there to align the lid.
I'm craving my first pumpkin, this video is just exactly what I was looking for, thank you!
I’ve heard cutting out the bottom instead of the top and using battery operated candles .
You gave some very useful tips :)

+JENNI.SWISS Thanks man! I appreciate your nice comments a lot!
lol same as I’ve been doing it for years, bar the saw. I found a flexible thin kitchen knife was great; I’d like a new one though. Baking parchment paper is great for using as tracing paper - you can rub pencil on the rear and draw over it, whilst on the pumpkin; not being afraid to puncture it in key places like dots.
The 3D effect is key in making it stand out. You do your best on the face, then can scoop out the inner side with a small tea spoon to get it perfect.
Good pumpkin, good shape, a good knife, so many things to check! XD
Very cool and helpful! Thanks!

Cool video, and (surprise) ...good tutorial for learning English! Thank you, Ellen, you wonderful girl!
great tips. growing up, we put candles inside, and set the jack-o-lanterns on the porch steps at night on halloween. we didn’t put a candle in the jack-o-lanterns for the purpose of a quick picture lol. it’s gotta be okay guys...we did this for years, we only lit them for one night.
I’m doing a project about being an entrepreneur in grade 5. We’re going to sell what we make to our school! I really appreciate you uploading this to help beginners!

Thank you miss ellen
You're very welcome!
Tip: Dont carve out the top to put yourr candle in, do the bottom because when you keep the stem intact it prevents the pumpkin from going mushy so fast
Where should we put it?
@@ryan_930 put what? the candle? i guess just on the surface where the hole is , it doesnt need to be touching the inside of the pumpkin
thx for some tips
