At least two significant tornadoes impacted Canton Texas and vicinity, this being the second significant. In all, I witnessed five tornadoes on this day. This tornado tracked up highway 19 and passed just east of town. Northeast of Canton near Grand Saline I ran across the wrath of this beast. Several homes had high end EF2 to EF3 damage and several cars had been tossed. Along with several other locals, I searched the cars for people and found none. It didn't occur to me to check a pile of rubble as I had no idea it was once a house. There a woman with minor injuries to her head and her husband with neck or back injuries rode out the tornado under a mattress. I was able to assist the woman to a hospital as we counted out blessings. More later...

This guy is smart!
He is whispering so the tornado doesn't find him
Imao
"Shhh. Be vewy vewy quiet, I'm hunting tornados. Heh heh heh heh heh."
Visit my channel has 2videos of tornados brazil thanks
Jason Blundel lol
Don't know why that comment made me laugh so hard!
On a cereal note, his videos are so watchable because he doesn't have tornado tourettes.
I hope that woman is okay..
it says she has minor head injuries in the description, so she should be fine.
Yeah but losing all you have like that... I pray for her and her husband. At least the Tornado didn't take her life. Let's all hope and pray she can soon live a normal life again
i definitely agree with that, i was close to a tornado only twice in my life so far, and would not wish for them to hit anyone's neighborhood. In most cases families can get back to their life in those areas fairly quickly with the help of the community. People have all kinds of hateful things to say on the internet but when something like that happens we for the most part help each other which is great to see. Just remember material things are not important as long as you live through the situation then it can be rebuilt/reacquired i believe people in tornado alley feel that way or the people given the financial ability to leave would do so.
Math M just asking , u have to build everything again on your own when something like this happens or does the government help out?
iceman 7 I'm not from the US, but over here in Europe usually your insurance should cover a disaster of this scale
Dear Pecks Hank,
As a young teenager who's dream is to one day become an operational meteorologist, I just want to take a minute to thank you. No, seriously, thank you so much. You're an immense inspiration to me and many other people that dream of becoming meteorologists and storm chasers. Before starting high school, there were tons of kids that made fun of me for wanting to be an operational meteorologist. They had claimed that my dream job was "stupid" and "silly" and "could be done by anyone without trying". It's people like you that I'm able to use as an example for how important meteorologists and storm chasers are. Being a meteorologist or storm chaser isn't just about being some weirdo that drives their pickup truck straight at a tornado while screaming "Yeehah!". I view it as a responsibility someone takes to save lives every single day. No two days are the same with this job, and you need to be ready to act at anytime. Next time someone brushes off meteorologists and storm chasers as freaks with unimportant roles, I'm showing them this video. I'm not even sure if you'll see this Pecos, but hopefully we'll cross paths one day. It would be an honor to meet you.
Sincerely,
A teenager who's on her way to college and graduating with a bachelor's degree in atmospheric sciences
Nai Yrabb Kinda hoping that's a joke based off of what I wrote in my comment beforehand. If you're posting that comment to try to show everyone how I give no fucks about your opinion of what I should do with my life, it's totally working and you should keep doing it.
Good luck, lovely! You'll make it far with your ambition :)
Enola Candelaria Aww, thank you! Good luck with whatever you want to do as well!
Follow your passion
EZ PZ lemon squishy TORNADO juices
Probaby one of my favorite chasers. Stays calm, warns people, and goes out his way after the tornado has passed to make sure everyone is ok. His voice is PERFECT for narrations. Just awersome.
Your'e a good man Hank.
"Thanks Bobby."
MELODY MUNRO *you're
Woops...thanks.
kara mishi no it's your
Pecos Hank, of all the chasers you are the best. You dont add to the chaos, you make way for and have great respect toward folks, and critters. And when you are given a chance to film or help you put the camera down and help. Other chasers could take great life lessons from you sir. Thank-You.
Perfectly said!
Too many get in the way of first responders, add to the chaos and having an inmature, self centered attitude in their endeavor to achieving their 15 minutes of fame.Pecos Hank and others put safety, helping others, and staying out of the way of those helping as their mantra. Sadly most dont.
Abundance of respect for you. You are the consummate Chaser...you drop the chase to help out, you are not only a true American, but you represent the best of humanity: curiosity and compassion.
That took an unexpected...
twist
OneToughCookie best plot twist I've seen in a while

Man you're not only a talented musician but also the worlds best storm chaser.
God bless.
Denise T: don't forget snake handler and ambulance driver, he's a real life X-Man.
Yes!...he is a renaissance man.
I appreciate storm chasers like you who do it for the beauty but also save lives. Respect to you sir.
Praying for the families and homes in Canton. Our prayers are with them.
Yep
I love how Hank keeps his camera on point alot and how he doesn't try to over talk the tornado. He is very professional. Thank you Hank for all your work.
How do you always seem to be where the tornadoes are? No matter what state or region...are you from the future?
drumbasher he is!
drumbasher go knowledge of weather and tracking.
He looks at the weather forecast and goes to the area he thinks is near the location of the next tornado.
(Of course sometimes he misses it.)
drumbasher hes got a direct line to god lol
He also uses a program on his phone called RadarScope (I've seen it a couple of times on his videos). It's a good app that will show you all the radar images from the NWS, but also will show storm reports and storm direction. I know you can get it for Android and I presume it is also available for iPhone.
Pecks Bill, I commend you for doing what was right in going, first of all, to investigate whether anyone needed help, and then, after finding someone who needed medical attention, taking her to the hospital. God bless you for caring for folks in trouble. Sometimes the tornado chasers come across like children off on a great adventure, but it is clear you understand the gravity of what great damage these storms can produce. I hope the woman you helped is OK. Were you injured in any way? I held my breath, wondering if you were just a little too close to the funnel, or in "the bear's cage" as some like to call it. God give you discernment and wisdom in making decisions about your safety, and may He protect you from all harm.
Amen 💜✝💜
amen
Connie Owen yeah man god bless you for helping thos people like that other wemon in your el reno video man just god protect you

I've seen this tornado about a half a dozen times but have been eagerly awaiting Hank's upload...always superior quality.
You made it on trending that's great man, been watching you since a few thousand subs, keep up the great work.
How is it that the almighty could fit so much awesomeness into one man? Chasing storms, helping victims, saving venomous snakes from the road, teaching people about storms and snakes, playing awesome music AND writing awesome lyrics like "cottontails are in the gardens crapping colorful eggs"? How, sir, do the rest of us compete?
Right on sir !!!!! Bless your words.
I like your videos. You care about helping people, not just the tornadoes.
There's a face on the right of the tornado at 0:41
OMG THATS SO CREEPY
Esther I thought I was the only one who saw that
@@Thunderkkat no I did, stupid prick
I really appreciate what you do, Hank. A lot of people would say that what you do is stupid, but I think it's great that you are evaluating the situation and helping others. As I am writing this comment, it is #8 on trending so I'm glad you're getting some well deserved attentiom . Happy (and safe) chasing
Your quality never ceases to amaze! Awesome footage!

"YOU SEE THIS HAILSTONE?!?! It's FROOOOZEEEEN!!!!"
You appeared on the Weather Channel covering the April 12, 2017 storm in Panco or Panto (already forgot), Texas. I am from Indiana and love your channel. You are the first storm related channel I have ever stuck with. You are funny and overall amazing with everything you do. Keep up the amazing work, Hank!!! 🌪️🌩️
props to you for not just watching/filming, but helping! 👏👏👏
Look up awesome in the dictionary and it says "Pecos Hank"
Chris Brown there's always that one guy to ruin everything
Chris Brown Umm? Ok but your post is sarcasm.
I am from canton and was at my mom and dads when this hit, even 3 years later this day still gets to me because it was non stop, but thank you for everything you did and the people you helped.
It was super scary! I’m glad we both made it out alive tho.
Thus is one of the best shot tornado videos I've seen in a while. Good work.
Once again you bring us a tour de force Hank! Great footage, commentary and overall production. Besides the chase you take on the good work of a first responder. You, my friend, are a marvel!
I love your footages. Greetings from germany.
im getting emo when he helped the lady..bless u hank
Best videos to watch about tornadoes!!...no yelling or screaming. Just cool, calm and collected commentary
Hank you have the best storm chasing videos on the internet. your channel is very informative and great quality.
WOW this tornado looked so violent
yesss. love your RAW footage :D
I have followed your videos for a long time. I live in California so while I have a great appreciation and respect for tornados, I've never encountered one. That being said, my cousin lost her life in the Canton tornados. She lived in Fort Worth, Texas and was headed to Kansas with a friend. Our family out there was told by the judge that the tornado that struck their vehicle was at night and had a wind speed of 140 mph and knocked her through the passenger windshield, killing her instantly. It came from behind so while I am sure the weather was horrible, there is a good chance that they did not see it coming. Watching this footage brings so many emotions to see & understand what she saw in her final moments. It's very heartbreaking but I'm grateful for the clarity. Keep doing what you do to educate the public. Thank you for your love of humanity, and all that you do to help save lives while risking your own.
Thanks for the upload Pecos Hank! I have always been fascinated by twisters and your vids are on point. You know your stuff Professional status.I heard about this on the news yesterday and am really glad you got a vid. You somehow always do...
It's crazy seeing pecos hank in canton,Texas since I live only 45 minutes from where the tornado struck, all of east Texas is praying for canton and the other cities that were effected in the storm
Jack Zavala thank God it didn't hit us. we were lucky. just by living close to where it hit.
Jack Zavala we live 20 miles from canton but the eustace tornado came 1/2 mile from my house. So thankful God protected us. That was horrifying and so loud
Jack Zavala thank god that i live 6000+ miles away from all those tornadoes
Jack Zavala same I live in tyker
Jack Zavala I live in lufkin and the storms were pretty bad here then but nothin compared to the Tyler, Longview area. I know some people who live in canton and when I heard as many people as they did, I was worried. They're fine but there are still people missing. If only there were more Pecos Hanks in the world
Hey Hank, hope you don't mind if I use your videos as a way of teaching my students(yes I'm a teacher) about extreme weather conditions and they really enjoy your videos on here. :) Be safe out there and many prayers to that woman and her husband for a speedy recovery.
HapitokP I'm sure he wouldnt he has his info in the description if you would like to contact him :)
Amethyst Ontiveros i just straight up open up his channel and play the videos from my students they know who to look up later :)
HapitokP that works too :)
HapitokP wtf
theres nothing wrong with that, shes not profiting
You made it to trending hank! Ive been waiting for about two weeks for this season of tornado vids to roll out
Hey Hank, You risk your life so much just for us to see a glance of a tornado. Hats off to you plus the footage in such an intense situation is incredible.
What a wonderful person you are to not only chase but help.
Tornados fascinate me so much , is it weird I really want to see one in person, there's none in the UK :(
You are the first chaser with the proper camera to record in live action, like HD. Nearly every other tornado video is like watching a movie, where the graphics are slowed and not very realistic. But you, sir, have AMAZING footage of LIVE ACTION swirling, rotating, home-video style imagery. It looks like I'm there in person! THANK YOU - no one else has been able to capture footage that plays back so real. I can't wait to see more.
Pecos Hank I just discovered you're videos and I subscribed. You make videos worth watching because you're calm, cool and collected. Keep up the awesome work.
Tornado ASMR
GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!
First tornado of the year folks lets pray that we dont have another 2011
TheDarkGamer don't you mean 2013, after all that's when El rino happened
Riley Bruce but it did only moderate damage. Even though it hit an astounding wind circulation speed of nearly 300 MPH, no structure was hit by the full force of the tornado. Remember, the EF scale is mostly about the damage a tornado does over it's wind speed. On top of that, the El Reno tornado only killed 8 people, considering the fact it hit areas that were very lightly populated, reducing the amount of deaths. Take the Moore tornado as an example, it had a top wind speed of 210 mph, and it killed 27 people mostly because it spent most of it's time ripping some of the most populated areas of Moore. On top of that, It also got an EF5 rating because lots of the houses impacted were completely destroyed. But yes, the El Reno tornado was the second highest wind speed tornado in the world. (The highest was an estimated 318 mph.)
Hank's chasing wisdom shows in the quality of shots he gets. Another good one.
I love that you can actually see the tornado and not just gray and a blurry screen. On other peoples videos, I spend most of the time wondering where the Hell I'm suppose to be looking for a tornado..lol! And you will always stop to help.. Complete gentleman!
Hank, this is why your just a good person!! You have a love for animals, you helped that injured person, I think God made people like you to make up for all the other a-holes!! :p
Meghan M. First time watching him and I can tell he has a good heart. Sometimes you just know from first glance
Meghan M. ....you bring it to the point !!!! This humble guy is outstanding !
If there where more like him , this world would be a better world.
God bless you♥️ from Big Spring TX
Nothing more mesmerizing than watching parcels condense as they fall into the low pressure of a significant tornado. Great footage as usual, Hank.
This is some of the best footage ive seen. That audio in the middle has almost never been heard like that before. Amazing.
Oh dang. I was wondering if there was going to be video of this today. Saw the news last night. Those poor people. That storm looked terrifying.
Ailin, I subbed you, hope you can check out my channel and maybe sub back :-)
Once second in and I'm hooked...
TheBaseballGuy, I subbed you, hope you can check out my channel and maybe sub back :-)
thanks! I subbed to you
You're a good man for helping people in their time of need, on top of tracking some of the most gnarly tornadoes I have ever seen.
You are the best Pecos!!! Thanks for your always awesome videos!!! I wish you had a show!!
At my school we had a meteorologist / storm chaser visit us, he showed us a video of his only successful chase, but in it he and his friends were screaming BACK UP! But the tornado was a small one about a EF1 maybe EF2 and it was about 1 miles in front of them. I was going to bash my head against a wall. I maybe wrong but from watching your videos he was over reacting a bit.
Must be that famous Reed Timmer.
Trezy #Savage
ELY M. reed timmer: standard procedure when witnessing a tornado: yell TORNADO! as loud and as long as you can
I totally know who you're talking about based on that description. hahaha
What would happen if the "Weed Trimmer" and Jim Cantore were in the same car together? lol
I live in Texas this is normal to me
No its normal to ME
BANHAMMER 1000 it's normal for whomever lives in tornado alley
not here in san antonio
I'm going to texas in a few days and my biggest fear is tornados. how often do you have them in August?
@@annelisewilliams03 It depends on where you are, like here in Houston it only happens when they span from tropical storms or hurricanes.
Grats on getting on the trending page. Hope that woman is alright. I've watched your videos for like 2 years now? I love the feel of them, and the storms are fascinating. Stay safe out there as summer approaches!
Dude! Another great video! I was getting anxious at the beginning where the Tornado was creeping sideways towards you.
Hank, it is awesome when you stop to help others. You motivate me to do the same.
--
I could use a little guidance however. I decided to ask you because I've watched your videos often and respect what you do and how you conduct yourself. I am considering storm chasing almost solely to help others in the immediate aftermath, but I really don't know how to go about learning to find them beforehand. I know there are dangerous individuals that have no business being out there, but I just want to be in the area to help people and animals. I'm not in it for the footage and I don't want a website or RUclips channel.
--
I know I can handle it. I have two decades of emergency services employment and am still licensed, but I retired early to regain a human mentality. Still, I don't feel fulfilled just sitting here watching this when I'm so close to this area. I'm at my best when others are breaking down into complete chaos.
At 3:07 you sound like Bill from the movie "Twister"
Who agrees? Lol
xx D3V xx RIP bill paxton
"So he just strolls up to the twister and says 'Have a drink!'"
I love your channel Hank. Keep doing what you do and stay safe out there!
You're a good man stopping and helping victims. Kudos, hank!
Oh you helped someone, that's nice of you
Look at this Tornado in its natural habitat...
The awesome, raw power of tornadoes is always so intriguing. Glad you were able to help the woman get to the hospital. I hope her husband will be ok. I do appreciate you film in 4K because I've had a 4K screen for a long time now and it's VERY rare I get to actually see how awesome my screen really is! And tornadoes in 4K is just fantastic! Anyway... glad that tornado missed the center of town. It's always so much worse when a tornado hits the highest populated areas. We've had nearly 7 inches of rain in the past 48 hours but no severe storms for me to get out and record. I just do it as a hobby. I started doing it more when I started severe storm spotting for the NWS about 10 years ago now.
It's people like you who risk their lives to really put this kind of situation into perspective for those of us who have yet to experience this kind of terror, and I really respect that. Especially when you're someone who steps to the front line and help rescue those in need after..
Really man, I give you huge respect and appreciate what you do.. I only hope to one day chase storms, and be on the front line as well.. Be safe out there, and have a lucky 2018.
Thanks for watching my vids dude.
Liked the video before I even started watching
Its beautiful and terrifying all at the same time.
I have some serious respect for you as a human being. Your videos are always well edited, you're a great musician, you're a smart (if a little crazy) guy, and you are always will to help animals and humans alike. Just keep being you dude.
Best channel in the world. I'm an animal-saving Texan myself. I sat next to a Russian/ Uzbek pilot the other day who watches your videos too!! He said this one crew watches your newest videos as a tradition when they get together to fly the huge Ilyushin cargo plane on a polar route. The verld is a veird place.
I saw the tornado with my eyes and it was scary it was at least four confirmed tornadoes and 5 deaths
Gaming With Erick- Clash Royale call it a multi-vortex tornado if that's how you saw it.
#prayfortexas
What a beast
Great video as always Hank!
I live in Tyler Texas and I went to that area and saw the tornado. My friends RV and his neighbors RV were flipped completely upside down
Waspman im
from Tyler Tx too, it was crazy over there
Ik. My power was out for like 12 hours
Waspman dude did you see all the crazy lighting on the sky
juan ruiz constant light 😂
Waspman i literally saw lighting bolts on the sky when looking towards 20, besides the obvious flares of light on the sky
Was the woman okay??
I was at The Breeder's concert in downtown Dallas that evening. I spent more time watching these storm in the radial velocity mode than I did watching the show.. SO many spin ups that evening!!
Your footage on these are quite creepy. The size the lighting and your voice make this one of your scariest videos in my opinion Hank.
I want to thank you for being, yeah just being. You're an amazing person.
That 4K camera is something else. Props to PH for (1) not giggling all throughout the video because he's seeing an impressive tornado . . . and (2) for actually going out to help people in need.
wow it by the east of sheveport
I like watching natural disasters happen. It's like the Earth is fighting back
@Pecos Hank Always love watching your storm footage. Also stepping up and helping the victims in between uploads.. My hats off to you sir.
Great job out there, Sir!! Fantastic video of a massive tornado and really helping in the aftermath, you're a true storm chaser!
God: IT'S JUST A PRANK BRO!
NOBODY LIKES YOU
Excellent footage, when you see Fedex pulling over you know shit is about to get real.
It's one thing to watch these videos in awe and amazement, but it's another to know what road you're traveling along as you watch one of these things reign terror everywhere it goes. I live about 30 minutes from Canton, have been there many times, and this is tough to watch. Our local weatherman started getting emotional reporting on some of these storms, as we just haven't seen anything quite this powerful in a very long time. Great video, well done.
That women he had in his car is a close friend of mine. Her husband was later found and is now recovering. Thank you dude for what you did. You're an awesome person.
If that ever happened you'd see me going the opposite direction. You going left? Aight I'm going right? No, right? K I'm going left, ain't no filming or stopping until I see SUNSHINE lmfao
wholy crap i'm early
Sim Tan holy*
Sim Tan I'm late :/
Pecos Hank is the best by far! I enjoy your storm videos and music! Keep it up!
I love you hank ! Thank you for doing all that you do !
My friend was driving in this storm and he went into a ditch and he was inside of that tornado and a tree hit his car. Luckily he is okay. He is incredibly lucky to be alive.
He said niqqa at 00:1 damn.
No, he didn't. The very first time I heard it, it sounded like that, but he's saying "This thing is moving fast."
Thank you, Pecos Hank once again for another great video and being a good Samaritan :)
Thank you for what you do! Be safe!
