@@PecosHank The #4. Nothing beats the jalapeno cheeseburger. Hatch green chili cheeseburgers in Las Cruces are up there, but that's a long haul.
Yo! I could go for a patty melt about now.
This is why I love Hank, he's not like the other storm chaser who shout their ass off. And that's why he does it solo because he probably hates people screaming and shouting too. Thank god he lives
The week before this storm, I Emailed Skip Talbot asking if he was going to be hot footing it to Hank's neck of the woods. . . When this video was posted, I wrote back and said "Hank hit pay dirt-- again. . ."
Hank will be part of the team with Skip Talbot this season and I am looking forward to seeing videos-- Last year's videos were among the best I have seen.
I am a fan of Hank's for the same reason-- when he has a tornado in his sights, he lets IT be the star.
Offhand, it is my understanding that he chases solo because he can't bear the thought of putting someone else's life in danger, particularly after the tornado that took the lives of Tim and Paul Samaras, along with Carl Young. Have you heard of THE MAN WHO CAUGHT THE STORM by Brantley Hargrove? I can't recommend it enough. . .One last thing-- what I was TRYING to say in the reply about "the glitter tornado" was that if I had NOT seen Hank's serious tornado and lightning videos, I could have brushed that video off as dumbassery
rather than a hilarious satire. ( I called the video a farce, in the sense that the characterizations
and the situation were exaggerated to the point of absurdity) How Hank and his crew were able to keep in character in that video is beyond me!
Another comment. . . Have you checked out Hank's music? I came for the tornadoes and stayed for the music.
Check out his live version of "sinful refrain" from a radio program in Houston 2019. The viola player is the same woman who was stirring up trouble in the "glitter tornado" video. I think we can agree that Hank is a badass, as we say here. . . It takes a badass Texan to tell a Texas-sized tall tale!
@@davidroyer5049 I've seen his music videos but never actually heard him play, funny you should mention that though. It may not be the same but I was trying to find the eary background music he uses but can't find anything :(
I have heard excerpts of a piano prelude by Rachmaninov and excerpts of Southern Backtones pieces. . .
In other videos, I wonder if Hank puzzles over what the tornado or thunderstorm would want to hear and improvises. His handling of the background music is just short of witchcraft.
Here is the radio program-- SINFUL REFRAIN Pecos Hank-- the Skyline sessions.
I forgot about this channel, I was obsessed with meteorology about a year ago and it saved my life a few months back, a tornado was forming (in Connecticut VERY rare) and I got my family off the road, a few moments later it touched down right where we would’ve been
I've lived in CT for nearly 20 years and I've seen only 1 tornado here, it scared me shitless. There are several reasons why I don't live in Texas and shitty weather is a big one
How can you not love sitting in Pecos Hank's passenger seat on a day like the 23rd? Best part is it doesn't look like these tornados seemed to wreak much havoc, just a bunch of scared cows and new farm field trenches.
Indeed
Texan's won't admit it, but ALL Texas cows are scared.

I'll never get over how mesmerizing supercells are. The way the light hits them, how low they hang to the ground, the sheer SIZE of them. I want to see one in real life someday, even if they are kind of terrifying.
Sounds like the seeds of a future storm chaser.
agreed!
Bc of the severe thunderstorm warning is back on Texas and Tennessee.
I’ve always wanted to be a storm chaser but sadly I can’t see any because I live in wales 🏴
As much as I would like to be one, I live in Tennessee, which is probably among the worst places to try and chase.
Hank, I like your style. I like that you respect life- animals’ as well as your own. You don’t do the “super close to death” adrenaline screaming scenes. You, my man, are like a gentle lazy, Huckleberry Finn river that is soothing to watch and listen to. Much appreciated. Stay safe. 🌸
He's been in a few "close to death" scenes... but they were by accident!
The long, stretching tornado at about 4 min is truly one of the most photogenic I've ever seen. That golden color of the sky and the spiral twist is gorgeous.
Pecos Hank is the legend tornadoes tell stories about in the sky before they twist down to attempt to see him themselves.
"OMG is that Hank?! Brb guys, I gotta get in one of his videos!"
LOL I can see every mothership of a supercell thunderstorm telling their "kids" , "Excuse me? You get your best side out there for the nice photographer, don't you dare rainwrap yourself! You're not chunky, you're a nice healthy wedge." (Of course, supercells brag about who got on RUclips.😊)

He sends photos to the weather channel often. They pay big bucks
As well he makes money off of RUclips ad revenue, any sponsors he may have and so on. He’s also apart of a band
almost 800k subs? I know he's genuine and isn't in it for the money, but he is fucking banking lmao.
@@michaelbarry9001 eh, two ad-pocalypses have happened in the past 6 years, so it's REALLY rough to gain traction and money from your channel, unless it's family-friendly, you post often (at least a few times a week), and has a very loyal fanbase. Even then, it's really not enough, as a lot of RUclipsrs have ads AND sponsored ads in the videos themselves. You have to be a sellout in this day and age to have good money on RUclips. That's also why every RUclipsr under the sun is trying to push their merch and products as soon as humanly possible. I doubt Hank is actually making sizable money from this channel. I mean maybe, he's family friendly, but posts only several times a year, and only seasonally, which is death to any channel. It might pay for his coffee and a random motel bill.
Hank's not the kinda guy who needs a giant pay check to be happy in life. He's already doing what he loves, and his life isn't exactly what someone would call glamorous, but it doesn't break the bank either. He's a humble guy of pretty simple pleasures, and I can respect that.

I actually like the shot with the cows in the foreground and the tornado in the back. We take those vast, flat plains of the heartlands and south for granted. They appear tamed, but with the right circumstances they become terrifyingly majestic. It's a reminder of just how chaotic Mother Nature is.

Thank you, very much for your channel. I lived through a tornado when I was about 8 and I’ve been super super terrified of thunderstorms and tornadoes ever since. But watching the tornadoes you chase is very helpful in my exposure therapy, I get to see real tornadoes in a controlled environment, in safety.

This guy just turned those scary, life threatening tornado vids from weather channel into a relaxing vid just watching nature
The tornado season has begun and Pecos Hank is back on duty patrolling the fields like some sort of tornado sheriff.
Pecos Hank: No tornado gets unrecorded on my watch !

I don't know how something as devastating and terrifying as tornadoes can seem so chill, and relaxing to watch. Maybe it's just Hank. This is such a fascinating channel.
When they're in open fields away from hurting you or others, it's a beautiful ballet of swaying elegant curves and swirls.
He's definitely got a wonderfully calm, laid-back manner
4-22-2020 Onalaska, Texas. My town, and my neighborhood was hit hard by an F3,F4 tornado. It's a life changing event , no doubt about it. I never thought in a million years I'd be like this, but now , since the tornado I'm so freaking gun shy around bad weather. Every time a storm comes along I'm looking all around, listening for that unforgettable sound. Guess after you watch a 50ft pine tree top go flying by like a baseball it changes you. LOL. God bless anyone who has been through a tornado. God bless the ones that didn't make it out with their lives. Two of my friends in my neighborhood died that day. RIP Taylor and Brooke.
The great thing about Hanks videos? No Drama, no whining Sean’s, no egotistical scientists. Just pure tornado, lightening & fun! With great music!

You are never too old to go back to school to change careers. I was 50 when I decided to get my master's degree in management. If school in America is too pricey, apply to a Finnish university. There's plenty of degrees taught in English, tuition is free, and there's grants to pay for your room & board. Some of the top univerisities are in Finland, so it looks good on your resume when you graduate and are looking for work. I went to Turku University (Turku is the old capitol of Finland), but Helsinki, Tampere, Oulu - they are all excellent! Turku University School of Economics is ranked among top 200 business schools out of the 15,000 existing around the globe.
