You really have it all. Beginnings before drop down. Multiple vortexes culminating to form what looks to be F3 width. I have always wanted to see a funnel on the ground pass through power lines. Thank you!

wow thank you very much! and that large tornado was rated a high end EF2 but i disagreed with the rating, based on the damage i saw i would have rated it low end EF3 easily. Thanks again for the comment and kind words!

I remember that day all too well. I lived about 15 minutes South of Canton. Several of my friends lost everything they owned that evening, but by God’s Grace they made it through it alive. Excellent footage, Sir. God bless you and yours.

I'm a meteorologist in the area and amazed at the people on the roads completely unaware of the weather or their surroundings.
This was our house/ranch. We lost everything!!

Outstanding video showing the debris field! I do wish a bit that you had not fidgeted with the camera quite so much (left, right, zoom in, zoom out constantly). But even with all that "distraction", this was an amazing video. Thank you for not being a "squealer", and just being calm.

When that bottom part broke off, or seemingly,, it looked like a long finger pointing and then touching the ground....what a wow moment!! Thank you for not screaming and going ballistic.
It's amazing how those mainline power cables and towers can hold up to that kind of wind.

Awesome video, seems like one that meteorologists would like to study. I really enjoyed seeing the tornadoes form from the beginning, really seemed to show several different types of formation with a big thriller at the end! Loved it!

@@JamesBurch93- Thank you so much for making them! I like seeing my tornadoes from the comfort and safety of my computer screen, not in real life. I have had three tornado close calls and that is enough! So please be careful, I'd rather watch a hundred videos with a slow build then one that says "Oh Sh^&!" at the end!

As a Texan we witness many tornadoes develop and demolish cities in the DFW area usually at a distance. You never really appreciate the sheer strength and destructive power until it hits your neighborhood! This year, 2019, in Abilene Texas my neighborhood took a direct hit from a tornado! It was the most terrifying experience of my life! It hit very early, right before daylight. Once the sun came up and I walked outside it looked like a bomb was dropped. I will never forget that sound..
hey there sorry to just now reply but there were a lot of comments on this video and im not used to that haha but wow i know exactly what tornado and what night you are talking about! It hit at a very bizarre time of the night/morning. Was a high end EF3 if i recall correctly. The sound a tornado doing damage makes is such an indescribable sound

I didnt know this one was filmed. What a great job you didn't. That was on my birthday. The morning was beautiful then all of a sudden it turned into this. It went over the house this time, thank God. It is headed straight for my house. Not like the 04/29/2017 tornado. That was bad. My house was adjacent to those power lines. They had to be replaced next to the house. Stay safe doing this. Thank you for the great footage!!

how many times has canton been hit and has it been hit in the same spot over and over again
HUCK stir we were hit 3 times that night just in town and a total of 5 in the area. So add the two from April 2017 and this one, oh about 7 times in exactly the same spot.
HUCK stir wanted to add we were under a tornado warning from roughly 330pm until after 7pm
@@joyandjimmysmith i live 45 minutes from St. Louis . I live just north of highway 70 . Brian road is just on the other side of the highway . We get large hail , Brian road gets the tornado . uncle Frank said the hail killed a bunch of cattle 1965 . So it has always been that way .We ignore tornado sirens cause if we get one it will hit Brian road . The storms come right up highway 70 from kansas

The 2nd tornado was my favorite. I like it started out as a single suction vortex with rapid upward motion then it went thru vortex breakdown with helical vortex then it because a multi-vortex wedge

Good video, man! I was totally expecting that tornado to take down that giant powerline tower, but that structure held it's ground (no pun intended)
A couple years ago Pecos Hank filmed one of these pylons being taken down by a tornado, and again in Canton, TX. I wonder if this was the same run of high tension lines?

Yes! Pecos Hank got a good one of a massive power line falling over. Someone else did a few years ago in a large Kansas tornado.

Did the original tornado and the meso that was tightening up on the right merge at the very end of the video?
In the beginning, I was wondering what those objects were that the tornado was tossing around. They were so far away, they were unidentifiable. But at the end I could clearly see they were sections of trees - not just branches, but significant pieces of the entire tree.

Dude, a couple of suggestions. Great video and thank you! Try not to move the focus in and out so much. Additionally, for future reference, when sitting turn off your wipers if possible. Also, be mindful of tornado position. Sometimes, (quite often), they back build, so it’s important to see the whole structure as opposed to just a specific vortex (although a couple of those were just amazing). Thank you!
Oh yes they most Certainly do. I was a severe storm spotter for the National Weather Service out in the Northwest Texas panhandle from western New Mexico east to Off the caprock In Crosby County and north to Swisher and south to garza County for (7) years while in undergraduate then graduate school at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas.
I suggest if you haven’t taken a course in severe storm meteorology at your local university it’s probably a good idea. Additionally, you should become ham radio operator certified and join Skywarn so that you can work with a network of experienced storm spotters. JMHO

James - I never messaged you but this is footage of the EF-3 hitting our ranch. We lost everything that day. When it goes behind the white farmhouse it hits our property. Barn, House and two cars lost. We were on a trip at the time. I just happened to find this video on my own. It’s amazing that you captured it on video. I have photos of the house ect if you want to send me your email I’ll send them back to you.

At 1:05 begins a sense like pulling back on a Wrist Rocket slingshot or a longbow...... those clouds in the wedge gathering spin energy...... here on Chesapeake Bay we do get some serious squalls, and I've very many times seen that early wedge formation but only one yielded......a spectacularly high-ceiling waterspout on Choptank River in Maryland.
At 15:10 it begins to mean business....... there must be 10+ actual tornadoes throughout this video.

At around 17 minutes the tornado crosses a power line - and it seemed as if the power line survived it! Can that be?

That was one of the weirdest bunch of tornadoes ever. I have video from in town and there’s no funnel. The only thing you can see if debris and things being torn up. It moved so fast and had no hail.

@@muckrak3r or you can get a Samsung and record 4k at 60fps and also have a phone lol. Phones are coming a long way. Camcorders will be obsolete in 2 to 5 years
@@muckrak3r the note 10 will have a 5x zoom lense and wide angle and standard. They're increasing there megapixels too.

do you know what day you are referring to?? because this was about 50 miles east of dallas but there was a semi recent tornado at night in Dallas on another day!

SuperTornadoGun I live in Kaufman country 15 miles from canton sadly I have a curse where I’m at another place like vacation or family and things like these happen when the 2017 EF4 happened I was in Waco and then this year may 29 I was in Houston the only 3 days im out of the DFW area a outbreak with photogenic tornadoes happens less than a 10 min drive what luck
It’s so strange when some new tornadoes appear to be moving the air straight up the funnel cloud instead of rotating the air in a cyclonic fashion. Looks more like a vacuum cleaner!

It’s the upward motion of air in tornadoes that makes them so destructive. Most things in nature and man-made are better at withstanding straight-line winds, not forces that work against gravity.
Canton gets a lot of tornadoes for a tiny place on the map. A lot of them
Canton got hit again 2 years after they had 3 tornadoes in April 2017.
