Very excited to see your sales for the quarter, and your chuckles always make me laugh out loud! Can’t wait to get my own stuff up and selling…all due to your inspiration and videos! Thank you thank you thank you!!! 💜😜🌸🌺
Ahh, that's because I'm yet to decide if I want to sew them to sell. It's also a bit of a struggle to keep up with production of my existing products. Hopefully I'll have more time once Chris and I have finished our shop move 😀
Another excellent instalment! I love the figures of what sells and what doesn’t. And you are holding up the Razz and I’m thinking is it the fabric choice…and then the words flowed straight out of your mouth, “fabric choice”😂 And a big YES for more updates! Also any plans for new items? What are your thoughts on table clothes and napkins and place mats? Do you see any demand for that kind of thing? I know I you did your egg apron, but what are your thoughts on apron for adults and children? I was thinking of larger size aprons, as I myself am a larger person and often struggle finding a nice fitting one, so have made them for myself and others and have been very well received. Also, with all that upholstery fabric, what about animal bed covers? I myself have bought beds from Kmart and made covers for them, so the cover is washed, so you don’t have to do the whole bed. I have also gifted them to my friends for their dog beds. My apologies for all the questions, but you are the only RUclipsr I have found who talks about numbers and what sells well and not so well. So it always peaks my curiosity. Also do people ever come to you with custom requests or specifically ask if you make a particular thing? Anyway, apologises for all the questions and thanks again for another great show. Can’t wait for the next one.
Hi Michelle, Plans for new items?.... I always have plans. Just never enough time. Customers come in with suggestions all the time, as do RUclips viewers. I have a notepad full of suggestions, and I'm slowly going through them. Once our shop move is complete, I'll have a lot more time to create. As for aprons, table linen etc, I tend not to make many at all. The aprons are very slow, but then being a second hand store I sell lots of vintage aprons, table cloths, napkins, tea towels etc. I do have a couple of apron patterns that I plan on doing in the future. I do make dog beds with some of the upholstery fabric that I think is unsuitable for bags. I place layers together, tack them in their layers, then make a cover for them, and close it up. I'm yet to find a dog that can destroy them. Will do a video for that one soon too. I do get people coming in and asking me to make all sorts of things for them. Some have even become stock items. Hope I haven't forgotten anything😀🤪
I love ❤️ the shopping bags that I bought at yr shop Christine !!! They are great 👍 And the 🥚 egg harvesting apron that I bought for a friend Have a great week and hoping you have a great selling weekend in the shop Cheers 🥂
This was very interesting. Thanks for sharing how you’re doing. Glad things are going well. Best wishes for continued success. I really enjoy watching your channel. ❤️
Wow I can’t believe we’ve done a full quarter since the last video 😳 time flys! I live these trips of videos I live numbers so enjoy listening to what’s working well and what’s not 👍🏻
I made some of the helping hands & everyone thought they were adorable :) But I have to say I have RA & getting the thread tight enough so I decided to try & hot glue the fabric & honestly they were so much easier :) Not to mention the fact now when the cards are being put in you don't have to worry about the thread being snapped :) THanks for all of your video's :)
@@ChristinesHomeAffairs You are most welcome, I am here in the USA & I love your videos... I have even started rescuing some fabric .. I will never get to sew as much as I would like to but you have so many good idea's & you are a great teacher :) So thank you again for your videos :)
Thank you Christine that was very interesting I remembered the first one you did.Not surprised that the shopping bags came first,I love the hand towels.I made some for my family and myself everybody loves them,my daughter asked me to make some for her bathroom and she said she doesn’t have to keep picking the towels off the floor with the kids.Love your ideas have made all of them except the egg apron, waiting to find someone who collects eggs.
@@ChristinesHomeAffairs I am retired and need to keep occupied, your videos have made me start sewing again,do you do an videos on quilting,I hear you mention quilting in your comments about material?. Thanks for all the brilliant videos
Thank you so much for these videos, they are super inspiring and informative. Yes please keep them coming, I am so inspired to make these things for the market store I plan to have.
Hi there Christine l like the videos on what you make and sell perhaps the tea towels will be number 1 at Christmas time l do some Christmas themed tea towels which go well when l can get the tea towels. The market bags are the winner take care
I have also a pattern for a dress style tea towel that I have been playing with to make a mans footy jersey or rugby hand towel for the men in my family they want one for the bar's LOL
Hi Christine! I’m watching from Israel. I sew as a hobby. I don’t sell anything that I make. I make tissue packs (a different pattern than yours) and a lot of hair accessories which I give away to family, friends, co-workers for their kids etc. I also make coasters and placemats (so easy), travel sewing kits, and other cute things. Would you be able to do a video of how u do your vinyl bags and the lace scrunchies. I really like your videos 😊.
Welcome Miriam, and thank you! The travel sewing kits sound like a great idea. They'd be very popular, so I've added them to my list for future. I'll also do the vinyl bag and lace scrunchies too 😄
Excellent.. what is my top 2, fabric towels, fabric bowls - Cozies. I also made the zippered triangle pouches..agree, will be glad to see these all gone. I made them before I started to follow you and..lol mine are also $5, to get rid of them.
Hi Christine I really enjoy hearing the updates. Sorry about the raz bags 😉 not every product will be a winner. My cross body bags are going well and hubby actually repaired an older Brother 15 stitch of mine and got it running again. Take care Sue
Yes please, keep us updated ! I love your channel! Happy sewing! I was also wondering what state you live in, simply because of pricing the items. If you don't wish to tell it, I completely understand. I live in Alabama. I have a hard time pricing my items to sell and also wondering if prices on sewing items vary from state to state, I do know experience play a major roll in the pricing along with cost of material . Most of the fabric here cost around $5 for a yard and Alabama and Auburn football are right at $10. Thank you for showing what sells the best, prices and how they rank each quarter . Happy sewing! 🪡🥰🙂 Oh P.s. lol Do you make -made to order, like show your fabric and let customers pick from the fabric or just use what you have ( given /purchased/ on hand ) and pick the fabric for whatever your making and put it up for sell? I hope I worded that correctly. Thank you for your time and help!
Thanks Shann. I live in a small country town called Nagambie in Victoria. I don't know how pricing compares around the country, but do know there are those that value their work/time, and those that are a bit more rough and competitive, but that's the same the world over. I stick to my own plan and don't often veer from it. I do custom orders for people occasionally, and if they have their own fabric 😁
Always enjoy watching your very informative videos. I would like to ask a question about the tissue holders. You have the hole running straight in the middle, but all the tissue packets I buy have their opening at the top. Do these holders work for them? Thank you.
Thanks Linda. I discovered the hole at the top after I had started making these. They used to have a slip in the middle. What I do, is place tissues in the holder, and make a slit with my seam ripper so that the tissues can come out that way 😀
Thanks Joan. I have a similar video to my "Duds". It's the cosmetic bag here ruclips.net/video/yYeykbrFXqE/видео.html but this one is a little longer. They can be used for coins, cosmetics, chargers etc. 😀

Turns out they sell just as well for wine bottles instead. Of course this was a customers suggestion, so I just went with it. @@ChristinesHomeAffairs my mother is in assisted living in another country and several hours a day I am on FaceTime with her so I am not able to get everything done that I want to. I will have to buy some of that fabric so I can make the bowl covers.
