Sorry everyone for the delayed upload today. RUclips seems to be sluggish in processing videos and this was supposed to go live at 8am :( thanks for the support everyone, I really appreciate it!
I broke the kids PS4 while trying to clean the dust out. "Okay, just don't break it" the missus says. Let's see if I can redeem myself. Thanks for the video.
hello so i had power supply connector pulled too and another 4 pin connector wire close to it cut i tried to fix both but when i turn on the ps4 it lights and beeps for 1 sec and never turn on so is it the power supply connecter is still not fixed or the other 4pin thats close to it plz help?
Great video as always... i also have the CUH-1208B model but recently it started to turn off on itself after turning it on. It stays on for 10 mins and just browsing through the menu/settings etc and after that it turns off itself without any warning just turns off complete black screen..I’ve replaced the thermal paste as well but it didn’t help. Can u tell what the problem might be?
Sadly not without looking to be honest mate 😕 it's hard to say as it could be a number of things, but is the fan definitely working? If so it may be that the psu is slowly dying but it could be any one of hundreds of possibilities to be honest
@@aat2312 sorry about that, I'd love to help but without seeing it in person the issue is too broad and wouldn't be possibly to diagnose without testing components on the board
Hi great video I have bought a broken PS4 off eBay with the same connector broken off. However only 1 pad is off and I think it’s the earth pad cos I see no connections going to it or coming out. It is the pad you were using in this video to remove solder from. How would I go about fixing this pad?? Will it just be a case of scraping away the green to expose the copper and solder to that? Cheers anyway
Hey, i was trying to connect the connector exactly like you did but the black resistor right behind the connector got lose and i lost it. Do you know what is that resistor called ?
The 5v connector is mainly for standby voltages, but without without connector there and without 5v working the console won't work at all even if 12v is plugged in
Hi,i break the câble 4 pins mother board to power on my ps4 slim,do you know where i can buy the official cable 4 pins of the ps4,i buy aliexpress câble but its too large,it doesnt fit the female connector I break the wire,i put it back, the ps4 is working, but for how long... I didnt put the plastic back, but i dont feel safe bc i dont want fire in the house lol....
If my powersupply has one of those solder points ripped off,and when I played it, the ps4 shut off and wouldn’t turn on, would it be the power supply or the motherboard?
Well it overheated and I got all the dust out, and it got quieter, but when I took it apart I ripped a pin off the board without noticing, and like 15 minutes into gameplay it turned off and won’t turn back on
@@lifesatrip306 it is pretty hard to say without looking at it personally but I'd say it should be repairable. The only issue you will likely face is that the issue is unlikely to be related to the connector as it would never have worked in the first place if that was the issue
Hi mate.. I have a strange problem with my fat ps4. The power supply adp 240cr, wont show 12v, also when i try to jump start it the 5v rail goes missing after the first try, it sobers down to a 1.6v and 0v on the other 5v pin. What’s going on?? Initial I thought the apu joints are the problem. But this psu is giving me nightmares. I don’t have other ps4 psu to cross check either... 😭 Original problem ( ps4 turns on beep and shuts off immediately) Almost like the same thing when i try to jump start it. 5v is present, everything looks dandy and when i try to start it boom, No 12v and no 5v. If i turn off/on mains the 5v is back.. Whats going on please help

What if there’s still some wire in the pad? Can I just put some solder on it and connect it
I must be engaged in the video. I said "uh oh" out loud at 25:20
I think I can do this. Thanks again for the video.

That ps4 background wow lol
Is the wire used to make the traces the same as the wired used to solder ?

This same specific model plz
Hello
Can anybody tell what kind of capacitor is that at 20:30? please
Do you know what measure it is?
Hey, i was trying to connect the connector exactly like you did but the black resistor right behind the connector got lose and i lost it. Do you know what is that resistor called ?
any Oscars on here?
What kind of solder/wire are you using?
I use enamelled wire for the trace repair and leaded 63/37 solder made by Atten for soldering:)
My ps4 has stopped beeping together, how is this problem fixed?
What is the purpose of this 5v connector?
Does the ps4 works without it if the 12v connector is plugged?
The 5v connector is mainly for standby voltages, but without without connector there and without 5v working the console won't work at all even if 12v is plugged in
What kind of flux do you use? And where did you get it from?
I use Kingbo RMA-218, it's cheap and I buy it from aliexpress:)

It's hard to say what the cause is but most likely a sluggish console will be down to either a bad hard drive or overheating

I'm not sure i usually use donor boards but the connect can usually be reused

What cable?
I don't understand what you mean mate
You say jumper wire, is that just copper wire or something else
It's basically enamel coated wire, so the coating will come away with a soldering iron or by scraping it but the rest is protected by the enamel
@@TheCod3r and tinning that wire, how does that happen, is it just using the soldering iron on it?
@@alisahinkabak4876 yeah you can tin it just using a soldering iron and flux and the coating will remove itself
