How to make a foam cutter

Today I am going to show how to make a foam cutter at home.
The materials I have used are-
1. Wood sheet
2. bicycle spoke
2. Nichrome wire
3. 3.7 v li ion battery
4. Switch
5. screw

I made it! I used a 2 mm diameter 340 mm
long steel wire, a nichrome wire from a spare soldering iron heater (25W heater,
new in the shop - 50 cents), and made a downside hook from the earthclip of an
old 220 V Schuko socket, so I needed 4 legs from toothpaste caps. The power
supply is an adjustable DC. My foam cutter works best with a voltage of 4.5 to
6 V, current 1.2 to 1.6 A. It's fantastic that I can cut at up to 45 degree
angle when I bend the steel wire. Now I will drill few holes in the base, then
I can cut perfect circles for light-weight RC plane wheels, rotating the foam
around a nail. Thank you for the idea and the inspiring video!

No voltage regulation and no chip to control the charging of the battery. Instead of doing that to a 18650 battery why not buy a battery holder tray instead. God forbid That project will blow up on someone or burn down their house. There are way safer ways to do this.
