Pop those bushings in the micro for 15 seconds…… they go right in with some grease and stiffen right back up as they cool
Good call on gluing that rubber bit on the pulley. The rubber bit fell off my new tensioner and now it rattles and drives me crazy.
The rubber strip came off my tensioner stop, and it indeed makes a racket. I need to sort it.
I believe these bushings are now split, so you have 4 pieces. This alleviates the fighting seen @5:00.

Love your videos. If the tensioner fails and hits crankshaft pulley, what happens to engine? Ruined?
Deana Thank you 🙂. It wont damage the engine initially. It will most likely break the crank pulley, Possibly the Idler pulley and the belt will come off therefore driving it after this is possible but not recommended for more than 1 minute or so as the engine will over heat very quickly. This is what happened to our blue R53 last year. sometimes the damage could be less or more. Hope this helps.
@@Drivewaybuildz It happened to my mini last week. Ordered a crankshaft pulley, seal, tensioner, new belt but didn't know about the Alta part in your video. Going to order one now. Just hope that's all I need. Love my car.
