  • We took a trip down to Houston to shoot with Adrian, the lead instructor for Sidewinder Concepts (www.sidewinderconcepts.com/), to learn the basics of long distance shooting. He made a promise that I would hit a target at 1,000 yards in one box of ammo, and this is what happened...
We will have a series of long range videos, as well as a short podcast with Adrian.
    0:00 Intro
1:03 Bore Sight to 100 Yards
    4:11 Dry Fire Fundamentals
    5:33 Testing the Bore Sight

Adrian (Sidewinder Concepts) is an excellent instructor! Even if he isn't hosting a class in your area, I would seriously fly out to attend one of his courses.

Awesome. My wife and I would like to get into the longer range shooting. Seeing videos like this is encouraging.

Love to hear it! We will have a few more in the next few weeks as well, and likely many more throughout the year.

I have the same Tikka T3 CTR and Vortex Viper scope in 6.5 Creedmore and it's my go-to round placer. I'm 45 and been shooting my entire life and am constantly amazed at the tools and tech we are able to use today.

It's a great setup, and my first bolt gun. I was very happy with how it performed, especially given that I mounted the scope and figured I was gonna screw that up LOL

I’m curious why the two guys used a bag to perform the bore sighting instead of a vise/stand to lock the rifle in place. Seems like it would be easier to do that as opposed to the back and forth moving of the body/rifle/bag.
    Maybe a vise wasn’t available…

Great vid! What’s the specs on the rifle and where did you get it from?

Thanks! This is a Tikka T3X in 6.5 Creedmoor in a KRG Bravo chassis with a Vortex Viper PST Gen 2 scope. I got the Tikka from a dealer, bought the chassis from KRG online, and got the scope and ammo from GunMag Warehouse.

One box of 20: NO. A box of 200, Possibly. And no scope, use iron sight for a real challenge.
