@@gohawksboom Dilution ratios depend on many factors, including:
      1) type of pressure washer
      2) type of of foam cannon
      3) type of snow foam
      4) dilution ratio of snow foam
      5) hard water vs soft water (the cleaner the water, the more foam and suds you get)
So there are many variables. My recommendations is to first start by following the directions on the bottle of the snow foam you have. And go from there adjusting the quantity of snow foam you use to have more or less foam.
I typically use 2 oz of snow foam in 16 oz of water for a total solution of 18 oz (that's a 8:1 dilution ratio). But I have the best pressure washer with high water output of 2.1 gpm, the best foam cannon, awesome snow foams, and a water softener system for clean water. So my conditions are always ideal.
You have to adjust the dilutions according to your setup. Play around with the quantities, no bad can come out of this.

I purchased a new car last week (but it sat on the dealer lot for a long time and definitely felt like it). I immediately started researching what’s new in car care and found your great channel. I have always clay bar/waxed my cars, but I learned so much more from your product/technique/new technology videos! I geared up and spent the weekend cleaning, de-ironing, clay barring, and sealing my car. I took a photo of it in the driveway afterward, and it was so reflective that you could see the label on the weed spray on the shelf in the garage!

I worked at a car dealership for two years during college and it was eye opening. I've detailed a ton of cars that were new from the lot in my private practice, but I never expected that the issues I had to face simply went unaddressed on the lot. I still call when my clients car is in for work (Very expensive car with soft non-metallic black paint) to make sure it doesn't go through the wash or enter the "reconditioning" department.

It is so terrible to see you said about brand new cars’ job paint when cars are delivered to his owners is really the truth! Even at high priced cars the cleaning service is really bad. I myself had this experience just on the first car wash when I received a call telling me my car is full of failures on the paint. He suggested a complete car wash with polishing and coating. After that date, I go deep studying about car cleaning like pro and found your channel. Today I have my own “garage service” at my house. Never left my car for wash outside my home to date. Thanks Pan, this is a great topic. I took delivery of a new SUV in September. At that time I knew practically nothing about detailing, and have since used the new vehicle to learn about and become passionate as a detailing enthusiast. I wish I would have watched this video before my purchase, but honestly was so naive and focused on car purchasing research that detailing considerations didn’t even occur to me.
Even though after taking delivery I found a minor paint chip on the hood (still need to fix) and glass crack (since fixed for free by insurance), I would still have taken delivery as is because the price was so good. But I would have not had any unpleasant surprises. Thanks for the great suggestions and overview of the new car detailing process.

I bought a DA polisher and paint thickness gauge, and am planning on doing a light polishing and ceramic coating. Kind of a big deal, since I am not a pro, but have learned a lot of techniques from you and others. Having worked at multiple dealerships and currently work at a dealership in detailing, and basic upkeep. It really depends. Products, time allowed, customer request, salesman pressure, the car itself(condition, quality of carpet paint ect, is it going to get tinted or other outside work). All cars fresh off transport get a rinse, foam, wash, and adhesive treatment. From that it all depends on the customer we can't wash a car that just got ceramic coated for usually 2 days, can't do windows for 3 days if they were tinted, if the salesman is having the customer pick up the car within minutes of it leaving the shop we have to weigh priorities for delivery which typically is shine, request and accessories.

Welcome aboard! And congrats on your new F150 Beth! Note that in all my videos, you’ll always find the products I discuss linked in the description under the video. I make it simple for my viewers to click and purchase what they need.
Welcome to my channel. You discovered one of the biggest car detailing channels on RUclips as we surpassed 895,000 subscribers and we have over 116 million views! I have been detailing for 26 years and I love to share my knowledge and passion with my viewers.
You found the right channel to help you learn everything about detailing.
A new car is never new until it's properly detailed.
      - at the factory, the paint defects are often corrected quickly by rotary polishing which can leave marks and holograms, so polishing corrects those, before you lock that in long term with a ceramic coating for example.
      - vehicles are then transported by truck, train and boat so they are exposed to the elements, industrial fallout, brake dust, rail dust, etc
      - vehicles are often left at boat docks (when transported by boat) or in exterior parking lots for weeks or months, again being exposed to the elements
      - at the dealership, the vehicles are almost always poorly prepped using the same dirty water that was used for all the cars on a given day, and poor washing and drying methods leading to swirls and scratches
      - at the dealership, a layer of cheap wax or paint sealant is usually applied to attempt to make the paint glossy prior to delivery. It's crucial to remove any previous protection before you apply a ceramic coating, as coatings need to bond directly to a virgin clear coat.
If you only plan on applying a regular carnauba wax or paint sealant though, you could decide to skip machine polishing, as those protectants can be applied over existing protection and it's not as crucial to prep the paint as well.
I explain all of this in this popular video: ruclips.net/video/QgoyrC-5CMc/видео.html
So you can better visualize the new car prep process, here are the steps I perform on a brand new car from two of my customers:

Snowed here yesterday/today kinda cold.. might warm up later this week but I am ready to detail today (exterior) 12 microfiber pads ready to put some work on.. but I think my MEGS correction might not work so well. BUT I detailed a brand new 2020 CRV that was new to the family, 50 miles, but we told them not to wash or anything when we took delivery, didn't want the horrible prep or the fast "car wash". So agree that yes, it should be cleaned after delivery. Just have to tell them that you want zero paint work or "detailed". Awesome episode, lots of information.

Lots of good information in this video. Three months ago, I bought a brand new Audi RS6 Avant. There was a slight delay in arranging the financials, so it never left the showroom floor. I specifically told them, do NOT wash the car. When I did pick up the car, it was still on the showroom floor, and seeing a little bit of dust on it, I felt that had honored my wishes about not washing the car. Less than 24 hours of driving off the lot, it was already at my favorite detailer getting paint correction, PPF in high impact areas, Gtechniq ceramic coating, and windows tinted. It was hard to surrender that car for a week, but it was well worth it. By the way, my detailer (Billy Aylward at Presidential Detailing) just won the Gtechniq Summit award. Thanks for the video, Pan!

When you use the IPA, don't wipe back and forth, wipe in one direction and then change to a clean towel surface. Any material you pick up on the wipe one way just gets redeposited on the way back. What you're looking for is a "water break free surface". Where'd I come up with this? I didn't. It's standard practice when preparing surfaces for primer/paint for military applications.

I bought a brand new car last May, 2021. A beautiful red, that was an extra cost. I washed it 3 days later and it just didn't look right to me when in full sun. I noticed the clear coat on the hood and trunk seemed OXIDIZED., I was surprised because the car was built in April. Just 1 month before I bought it. So I went ahead and bought some meguiars ultimate polish and wax and got busy. 6 hours later it was absolutely stunning, beautiful! the color actually changed , in a good way, and the gloss and luster and metallic in the paint just sparkles. I have no idea what did this to a 1 month old car, but its fine now, and has stayed this way.

Slightly late timing but we just took delivery of a new car earlier this month and the dealership was astounded I wanted to receive the car 'untouched'. They had to get the car road legal and remove visibility obstructions, but other than that - took delivery all dusty and dirty with stickers and manufacturer markings all over the place. They kept asking why? are you sure? really? - I kept saying 'if you touch it I take $1,000 off the price and YOU can pay for the detailer'. They 100% did as instructed, no problem at all.
First thing - Professional Detail (Shout out to Final Touch Christchurch NZ!) where our car was wonderfully detailed and ceramic coated. I would get this done any new car or any second hand car that I purchased :-).
Next car we get (later this year we hope) I am going to pay the detailer for their time to turn up at the dealership on delivery/ full purchase day to give the car a once over BEFORE possession. Will book in the detailing at the same time :-). The things that professional detailers can see is astounding. Totally worth it.

I work at a toyota dealership. 100% agree on dealership care. They usually have people who go around washing the cars on the lot but that's really it. No protection or detailing, just washing. When it comes to someone buying a car, our dealership runs the car straight through an automated wash even the Supras and I even seen them run a used Rolls Royce through the wash too. Then the guys at the detail before sending off to the customer, they just throw on a wax. I had a family member buy a car at my dealership and he wanted to swap the car he was going to buy just because he noticed a ton of scratches after the "detail", twice!!!

    • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer  3 года назад +1

That is terrible Anthony! And proves my point. Thankfully my viewers now are all aware of these bad dealership practices and know what to ask the dealership NOT to do, so they can take the car home and do things right, or go see a professional detailer to do it if they don't have time or skills to do it themselves.
      Thanks for sharing!

Taking delivery of a new 2022 Mazda 3 Turbo Premium Plus in the Soul Red Crystal at the end of the month (March). As per the video, I was going to request they simply wash the car with fresh water, using a Ph balanced shampoo... but after reading the comments, seems like I'm better off not having them wash it at all. The sales rep said they didn't know their wash technique, but would be happy to leave the protective film on the car for me to remove. This seems like a better option. I was going to remove all the film myself at the dealership so as to properly inspect the car before taking delivery. I know there will be some adhesive left from the film, but that can be washed off with bug and tar remover I assume (need to investigate that a bit more). And tips and advice are appreciated. Thanks! It costs very little for a dealership to touchup a car though. I bought a used Lexus from the Lexus dealership and the next morning (due to it not being evening) I noticed many rock chips in the hood and asked if they could fill the chips for me. Well, they didn't. Instead they gave me a new loaner Lexus and completely repainted my hood and blended it into the rest of the body for free. And it was a multi-stage pearl. Needless to say, that really made an impression on me. I typically buy my cars at auction and this was the only time I bought one from a dealership and they were incredible. Got me financed with Lexus Financial at a rate less than half of what every other bank they contacted said. I recommend anyone I know looking for a Lexus or Toyota (sister dealerships with the same owner) to check them out, though I don't know if they're even still there - Superstition Springs Lexus... and I never recommend products/stores on here...

Excellent video Pan. My new 4Runner was scratched by the dealer when they prepped it. It took me two days to get it right again. Everything you said is 100 percent true and accurate. Thank you for what you do.

Thanks for that Kim! We need to spread the word to educate people on why we do things, that way they learn and understand why it's important to detail even a brand new car. :)

The best paint condition I have received from a dealership was ironically enough on my wife’s Pacifica mini van. The dealership has a touch less car was onsite. I checked over the whole car with a light and couldn’t find scratches anywhere. Probably could have used a light finishing polish to enhance the paint but I just went ahead and washed, iron removed, used a clay bar, wiped with IPA solution, and put turtle wax graphene on top.
Every other new car I have ever purchased, swirls and scratches straight from the lot. I actually took my Nissan Titan to a pro to polish and ceramic coat because the paint was so soft I kept leaving micro marring from my buffer pads.

I'd say yes just from my new car purchase. I bought a' 19 Accord Hybrid touring in October 2019 at the very end of the model year. According to cargurus the car sat on the dealer lot most of that year. When I took delivery (after they buffed out scratches) they did an extremely basic carwash letting the water dry on the paint. I intended to detail it anyway out of principle, but before I started I felt the hood and it had so much contaminate on it that the hood felt like higher grit sandpaper. Needless to say, I clay barred it followed by compound, polish, finally a good ultimate liquid wax. Only a week after taking delivery did I consider it a brand new car.

I only last week subscribed to Pan's channel. Little did I know the preparation it takes to add a ceramic coating and everything it involves. I'm 63 and last November had my 3rd spinal fusion in my lower back. It was my 8th back surgery. Needless to say, DIY is out of the question and I'm a disabled vet on a very tight budget. There are some mobile detailers in the area, but it's hard to tell if they offer ceramic coating based on their website. I'm just trying to get it done right within my budget. Pan has some very great videos and sounds like the type to have a beer with.

Thanks for the positive feedback Joel! I hope your surgery went well and that you’re recovering.
And since you subscribed to my channel, let me officially welcome you to the Pan The Organizer family!

Joel, my guess would be if they’re not advertising ceramic coating they probably don’t do it. Why would they NOT advertise something they will likely charge plenty for? You should also ask yourself, do you NEED a ceramic coating.
If you’re unable to thoroughly clean the whole vehicle yourself then you’ll likely be taking it to a detailer for this at least a couple of times a year so consider getting either a good quality sealant or wax every 4 to 6 months and you should get good protection anyway. Take a look at Pan’s videos on turtle wax recent ceramic or graphene systems, any detailer will be able to do these for you, and it would be better than being the detailer’s “ guinea pig” for a complete ceramic coat plus you’ll save $$$ ! Best of luck with whatever you decide, if I lived in the same country I’d give you a hand. Hope this helps.

@@karlhulme8014 any advice helps. Thank you. Just yesterday I saw an ad for armor all ceramic wash. I’m thinking unless you’ve a ceramic coating, you wouldn’t need this wash. It amazes me the science involved in all this. I had to drop chemistry in high school so long ago. I nearly lost my left leg from a bad staph infection. One more week, it would have been in a biohazard container to be burned. I still enjoy science though. Take care, sir.
