Thank you for a great beginner tutorial Pan! I’m late to this party, but thought this summary might help some folks: 1. Ensure car is cool to the touch & removed from direct sunlight 2. Tape off trim & badging 3. Inspect paint condition using LED light 4. Prime pad 5. Apply pea-sized drops of polish (~1 per inch of pad) 6. With machine off, dab pad in small 2’x2’ section to distribute polish 7. Holding flat to paint, use lowest speed to spread polish in section 8. Increase speed to med./high 9. Keeping pad flat & moving, polish using low pressure & slow arm movements 10. Make 3-4 passes overlapping ~50%, left to right then top to bottom 11. Turn off machine while flat to paint. Remove polish w/ clean, dry microfiber towel 12. Wipe section w/ microfiber towel & IPA. Inspect using LED light 13. Frequently clean pad w/ compressed air or brush 14. When complete, car is ready for application of paint protection

@Jack Shaheen you say you dont care what anyone thinks what your car looks like which is saying you don't care what people think, but here you are and ontop of that here you are metioning your car like some trophy. i like to clean my car for me first, i love walking back to my car seeing it sitting clean and beautiful
@Jack Shaheen “waste money” lmao that’s like saying buying a “991” is a waste of money you could’ve bought a really cheap car that does the same thing gets you to from A to B, how is it a waste of money to buy detailing products for his business when he makes money from his business that’ll pay back what he paid on all his detailing products and he’ll even make a lot more money because he has the knowledge and detailing products/equipment. Also out of billions of people not everyone is like you who doesn’t give a shit about their car, they worked hard for their car so why not make it look beautiful instead of having your nice black car in the sun and it looks all scratchy and shitty. You can have your opinion as well as I have mine but you sound retarted.
I grew up in Body Shops/Collision Centers. Years ago we spray Lacquer which needed to be polished once dry. Needless to say it’s hard work, especially on the back. I have to say, your knowledge of polishing is impressive. The tools and Polishes/Compounds are much better these days, swirl marks were a nightmare back in the day. These days the products make it much better. Anyway, just wanted to say how much I appreciate your videos. I trust what you say, and that even surprises me. I thought I was a bit of a know it all, until I watched your numerous videos.

Thanks for the feedback Gabriel! I'm glad that my videos can help inspire people like you! What would you say is your favourite video on my channel so far?
Well honestly I can’t say because I’ve watched so many. This one particularly struck a cord with me because I snatched up my first da polisher today. But what I can say is your very clear and direct so I absorb your info without too much head scratching.
I am in absolute ❤😍❤😍 with the shade of blue on that Volkswagen!!! Black cars are ALWAYS killer when they're polished, but to see a car of a different color with such brilliant sheen is just exuberant!!!! I REALLY love your demonstrations, Pan!!! Just AWESOME!!!!
Hey Pan... I recently purchased a used car for my son in college (2014 Civic - white) that was dirty & neglected, but the price was really fair. When I got it home I had to clean & detail the car..... so I did what most diy'ers do... got on Y/T for car detailing vids. My son told me to watch you and so I did... you're the most impressive auto detailer I've watched on RUclips. Needless to say, with my limited resources and abilities I got his car polished up (inside & out - engine too) and was able to make his car look really nice, thanks in part to your tips. Thank you for covering the pad cleaning aspect. I've watched countless detailing videos at this point and most of them skip over how often you should clean or replace the pads. Lots of good info here, I'm getting ready to detail my Camaro - which had a professional polish and ceramic coating applied a couple years ago - and my girlfriend's Mustang - which is gloss black and has a lot of swirls and scratches from improper washes. Very well explained, starting to get the things together I need to do my 1st ever car detailing. This tutorial has made me aware of some things I still need to do before attempting. Thank you, best tutorial I have watched so far 😊👍
Amazing tutorial! I've recently purchased a detailing business and I've been in training for 3 weeks. I just realized the owner is teaching me bad habits. He's cutting a lot of corners smdh. I've learned more from this video than the 3 weeks I've been there. Thanks for the instructions. You're a life saver!!!
I just wanted more information on RUclips regarding detailing and your videos just keep popping up. Update: I made a deal with this owner for $15,000 to take over the property and all his assets. Apparently he doesn't like the way you detail Pan lol. He says his way is the best way and now he doesn't want to continue with the sale. Hes doing everything to sabotage the business which the entire agreement has to be for filled by September 30. Everything from telling customers that I don't know what I'm doing to leaving horrible messages on the business answering machine that I have to purchase. Great location however Im going to change the name of the business because it's starting to get a bad rep. Of course he doesn't know that. I owe him $2500 more but he refuses to accept the payment. I let the landlord know what he is doing and they are stunned about his behavior. He doesn't have a lease but I do. The landlord stated to me that they don't want to deal with him and for me to continue paying him so that he just leave. What a major headache this has been so far.

I gave him the money to purchase the business however, he took all of the merchandise, chemicals and other related assets with him that I purchased. Lucky for me, I paid him by credit card. Fantastic tutorial on polishing. I've watched several painting / finishing videos & no one else has mentioned washing/cleaning the pads... Great video❗👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 So, how do you address how bad scratches/areas are to know what to use to get them out? As not to take off too much clear coat or effect paint with a compound to remove scratches/scuff marks? If scratches are a little deep, and they have been removed for the most part once buffed out. At the end of all these steps/processes, what is the best way to substitute a new (so to speak) clear coat and then protect the paint, and minimize future scratches and protect? My Harley fuel tank tends to get scuffs/scratches from getting off and on. How do I do these steps on a major budget? Money in the year 2020 is a little tight these days. Please send video links to help us, thank you.
I wanted to compliment Pan for this tutorial; I just received my G9 polisher from Griots and did a complete compound, polish and wax in only 6 1/2 hours (after the washing process). Wow. The end result on this mid-size sedan was good, I was able to remove many swirls and light scratches from a local car wash that uses brushes. I think they need to replace those brushes.
I really appreciate all of the work you put into your videos! To taking the time to explain, demonstrate, edit the video, and link everything you talk about in description Thank you pan! I Would love to see more videos like this on paint correction.
I love pans videos because he always recommends good products with super clear information and instructions. I always get overwhelmed with how many options there with products and how to use them.
Thanks Gabe! I always try to explain things as simply as possible so my viewers can go out there and enjoy detailing their cars without being overwhelmed with all the steps.
From an old-school detailer I found your presentation very informative. So much has changed in terms of products over the years! It was far more simple back then in the 80's and I often had to mix up my own finishes and compounds to achieve the results but I got the job done and was always busy! Case in point, the pad cleaning brush to remove product after each use of my wool pad for me was a screwdriver I ran from the center to the edge on my Milwaukee buffer, and it worked! I am glad I found you Pan, you are clear, concise and informative! I will continue to watch and learn from your YT library. I restarted my business here in Los Angeles(Cariffic Auto Appearance Systems) and hope to apply my old-school knowledge with all this new technology!
Very informative video, i just bought my first polisher and im new to all this compounding and polishing, theres alot more involved then i realised and the amount of products out there is a bit daunting to, but this vid helped alot, im sure ill go back and watch again to make sure im going in right direction.

@@PanTheOrganizer BROTHER, YOUR VIDEOS HAVE HELPED ME A GREAT DEAL. I JUST WANT TO THANK YOU FOR SUCH GREAT CONTENT & THE FLOWING OF YOUR KNOWLEDGE TO ME, YOUR SUBSCRIBER.
Fantastic and very informative. Ive watched countless detailing videos by pros and product manufactures. None of them mention the IPA wipe down before waxing/ sealing.
This is why my channel separates itself from other smaller channels. An IPA wipe is especially CRUCIAL and CRITICAL before you apply a ceramic coating or graphene coating, as you want to remove the polishing oils and residue from the surface to ensure proper bonding of the coating with the clear coat. It's not as important to do an IPA wipe before applying a traditional synthetic paint sealant or carnauba wax, hence why you probably have never heard of this before. However, doing an IPA before applying a sealant or wax will make the adhesion of the protection even better, and you will maximize the durability of the protection that way. I hope this clarifies things for you.
Thanks for the feedback! That's the goal of this video: get beginners the confidence and knowledge they need to get started with basic paint correction.
Thank you for taking the time to film this video. Helped summarize the various videos I’ve been watching. Wish I found this video before spending hours watching others. 😅👍

I have been informally detailing cars for a couple of years. I recently have begun to turn my passion into a more serious business. I started in the fall of 2023 to put together a simple business plan as well as developed a website which will be going live in the next couple of days. I also recently got certified by Brian Finn to apply all of the DuraSlic products. I have watched your videos for approx 1 year.
Pan, Thank you for sharing your love of detailing on RUclips. I was immediately drawn to your teaching style & attention to the minute detail. I’ve been watching your videos for months. Finally bought a random orbital polisher six months ago and finally have the courage to use the polisher. The video of your brother applying his first ceramic coating gave me the encouragement to buy my own ceramic coating from the same company. Again, thank you for all your encouragement & advice!

@@PanTheOrganizer if it’s the most bang for your buck video I will choose your year-end award winners every time. Detailing cars with something I love to do even growing up as a kid. At this point in my life just; turned 50 a month ago I decided to use it as a side job to supplement my income during Covid. I needed all of the specialized how to videos to teach me the techniques so that I could produce a professional result. Wheels, interior, etc. my products needed to mostly be available locally and “today” so I had to pick and choose between the different companies I have in Northern California. Year end awards videos helped me do just that - build my arsenal out of each company’s best or almost best products. In fact, just this morning I took advantage of 22% off at Adams Polishes to buy Tire Armor. On there website I got to reference you specifically as how I heard about their products.

Thank you for a great beginner tutorial Pan! I’m late to this party, but thought this summary might help some folks:
1. Ensure car is cool to the touch & removed from direct sunlight
2. Tape off trim & badging
3. Inspect paint condition using LED light
4. Prime pad
5. Apply pea-sized drops of polish (~1 per inch of pad)
6. With machine off, dab pad in small 2’x2’ section to distribute polish
7. Holding flat to paint, use lowest speed to spread polish in section
8. Increase speed to med./high
9. Keeping pad flat & moving, polish using low pressure & slow arm movements
10. Make 3-4 passes overlapping ~50%, left to right then top to bottom
11. Turn off machine while flat to paint. Remove polish w/ clean, dry microfiber towel
12. Wipe section w/ microfiber towel & IPA. Inspect using LED light
13. Frequently clean pad w/ compressed air or brush
14. When complete, car is ready for application of paint protection

So, how do you address how bad scratches/areas are to know what to use to get them out?
Wow.

Thanks Tim! I appreciate it!
Another excellent instruction and information. Thank you Pan!

Is the Harbor Freight DA polisher and are the Harbor Freight polisher pads good.
I never tried the Harbor Freight pads...
No there not good, will they work? Yes...will they last? No.
The Harbor Freight DA polisher is pretty good. The HF pads are cheap and don't hold up long.
I use HF pads they do work, and how long do you want them to last? I use mine twice a year, then i throw them away.
Randal Morris what pads should I get that are good but cheap cost.

I have been informally detailing cars for a couple of years. I recently have begun to turn my passion into a more serious business.
