I love when Bob just throws those little stories about his life in to this show, like the wild squirrel. I really miss Bob Ross and my Mother!
I have always been creative and expressive in a variety of formats my whole life.
I was never very good at traditional oil paint thought. My mother, who was a VERY accomplished artist heard about Bob Ross and introduced me to his technique.
I was glued to the television when his shows were being broadcast! They both exuded such love, peace, happiness and gratitude! It was infectious!
I was hooked from the very first episode that I saw and I was able to paint pictures that I was proud enough to sign my name to!
A lot of people who I hadn't even known liked them so much that they actually bought them and display them to this day. Many of those nice people and I became great friends. I treasure their friendship more than money. I was blessed by Bob and my Mom! They gave me something much better than money! I am forever grateful to them both and I cherish their memories!

Open the book and read. When you get a little hungry, have some food and then continue reading... One of those kind of rivers???

I really miss this guy. His voice is so soothing and relaxed. I'd always be amazed that he would be painting with a brush that I'd use to paint a house, not a painting. Initially I'd have a tough time seeing anything but by the time he'd finish I'd be scratching my head at how quickly he could create such an amazing painting is such a short time.

A wild squirrel sitting on bobs head trying to crack a walnut, that he gave him, is the most Bob Ross thing I ever heard. If he would have said that, little sparrows put on his bathrobe every morning, I would have believed him.

I don't know how to say it but Bob Ross was the only painter artist that doesn't paint .
He's not painting, just adding layers of paint and some brush strokes and then, all in a sudden, you have a masterpiece in front of you !
Bob was truly a genius !

+Wolfwaysinbed words of the wise: brushes need to be quality. I tried to use some $1 Walmart brushes to paint a base coat on my canvas and they started losing bristles in the first couple of strokes.

    • @hawkmoths

try it! it's a ton of fun. Canvas boards are great for practice, but they aren't good if you plan on making a full painting. Also, cheap oil sets aren't bad. I got a set from Blick that I really like. It's nothing fancy, but it works really well. Also, get super duper small brushes. Natural hair is better for oils, but synthetic detail brushes work fine. One last thing: You need paint thinner! The special kind from the art store that's odorless. Painting is super relaxing and always helps me on a tough day.

The beautiful thing about freestyle painting is, you are the master. Bob mentioned that the hard part is choosing what you want to paint, once you have chosen what to paint, you MUST then set your mind on what to paint and your imagination is your only limit limit. Paint Like Bob. Paint Pro.
