I remember my friends and I were all dancers in the early 90's. Staying up late hours trying to catch a glimpse of the dance scenes from this video. The dance scenes were consider underground and revolutionary for its time.
Im a dancer in this new era and I feel honored to have seen this, it gives me a new perspective on what im doing and to gain more knowledge of street dance and hip hop in general
I often come and visit this page to great memories of the early Los Angeles 90's dance scene. Big up to all the crews, System(that dissed em), Nasty Habits, Scheme Team, Soul Brothers, 2 for 2, Imani and Romye( pre Pharcyde), The Jungle Tribe(Long Beach!!!) and all that I missed. Big up Ulysses(Philipino Soul)
I wont lie I probably studied this video for hours when it was playing on Video Music Box!!! I stole two or three moves trying to perfect them at Sound Factory or Red Zone back in the days. Herb Alpert had another song that was dope to dance to also, I forget the name of it. But this track is fire!!
that was at "la casa" building on washington and oak st. by pico union. my group viciouse circle was there...so amazing. I miss this, club balistix,4 play and the sugar shak clubs.
Yes to kolani R.I.P. Wazup Brandin Divine styler and Balou Skeme Team the boo yaa tribe the Grovers to Romeos Stoney boys the Dappa girls Krush groover,,,,,Every Woman's Fantasy and of course SEx JErx and Poser, Nothing but Trouble.... flash back
There was nothing like it bruh! Awesome that ya still feel inspired and can gain from it. What's going on now is kinda sad. It's my hope that the passion and good energy returns. It's what we fed off of back in the day. Good luck to ya, be bless!
Regarding Beavis and Butthead -- this vid was in the episode "Right On" from season 4, at the end. I remember seeing this in B&B way back in the day and it inspired me to start dancing too, but I only saw it a couple of times and never remembered the name of the song, so for the longest time I thought the vid in question was actually a version on "Cantaloop"... lol.
Repsect my uncle is og skeem team member brother and is in this video he told all the dope dancers in LA at the time were in the video including the pharcyde who were dancers and fatima who is og skeem team
