I agree. I was using a XS max however it meeded a new battery. But if felt it was time to get the mew camera system and upgraded 120hz display and i have been extremely happy with the 13 pro max
As someone currently still using an iPhone 7 I am very excited to upgrade! I also don’t have much of a choice at this point with how bad my battery is. Trying to decide which phone to go with is the hardest! The only thing I know for sure is it won’t be the pro max because it’s far too big. I have an iPad for a reason.
I think the iPhone 11 at 499 is a wonderful deal. I own one and don’t see myself upgrading in at least 2 years more. This phone is that good and the current value for its price is unbeatable. Plus, the upgrades of the 12 and 13 are kinda nice, but honestly unnecessary for 95% of the people.
How great to upgrade from a 7! Also I think you should know there’s an option to replace your battery on your current phone. Either way you choose, congrats!

@@elchatodeoro1 yeah I used an iPhone 11 pro and own a Galaxy Samsung galaxy s20 fe. I prefer Samsung's interface tho. And I can't have few of my essential apps on IOS so Android it is. And cameras on either phones are great so I don't mind using either. But I'm more comfortable with a Samsung.

Me too! I’ve always gotten the Max, specifically for the better camera. But now that’s it’s the same camera for both Pro models, im definitely gonna just go for the regular 13 Pro. Tired of carrying this huge heavy phone around lol
I appreciate the emphasis on not needing to upgrade every year- Apple gets an unfair amount of pressure on them to make a crazy phone every single rear… this is a normal yearly improvement. Keep in mind, the more recent your phone model is, the longer it’s lifespan is… so you really don’t need a new phone for several years nowadays. So who cares if the iPhone is boring for ONE year. From a company standpoint, it’s about longevity too. If they give us everything in one phone, nobody will upgrade again. They have to pace themselves
I would say Apple’s boring year iPhones are some of their best yet. The iPhone 11 Pro was refined af compared to the previous X and XS models. The camera on the iPhone 11 Pro was the one that finally dethroned Google’s Pixel cameras too.
The criticism comes from the fact that every year is the same as always. There is never new in design or an amazing new function. Putting a better lens or a better processor is normal because current components are used and nothing else.
@@augustosalas Right, but there comes a point where improvements can only be marginal. It was easy to improve earlier iphones by a huge margin. Camera technology was not developed, there were cellular improvements to be made, etc. Remember the 3GS? It only added speed, a compass, and video recording. Lol.
There is a concern about environmental impacts and how to balance that versus competing in the market. Also, a lot of the hardware designing resources, mostly teams and labs and stuff, are busy moving Macs over to Apple Silicon. The usual cycle is big stuff one year, refinements the next. Most features that come to a device or OS spend 2-4 years in development.

I think you should upgrade to the iPhone 13 if you want: - a better camera - better performance - longer battery life - 120Hz display Besides those things, there really isn't much of an upgrade
I mean its the same thing with Samsung and Android phones. S20 to S21 you just got better camera, performance, battery life. That’s it. Industry as a whole is stagnant on innovation.
@@chrisak49 I disagree, the improvements on Samsung and other Android phones are far more compared to their previous iteration to deserve an upgrade compared to an iPhone upgrade. Samsung still sucks as do most of the other Android phones though in terms of longevity. I think Apple is in some serious trouble in terms of innovation though. They don't want to copy Samsung or other manufacterer's concepts so that they can keep pretending that they're still the leader in innovation but I believe they've lost that position.
I love that this series had a pink color but with the notch, maybe I'll just continue saving up for now and hope for a notch-less iPhone years from now.
This is this first year I am NOT upgrading! I have upgraded every year and not this year. Covid has changed my view on things and what is really important and I also don’t care for that baby blue color. They should have pink Or purple.

I just got the iPhone 13 standard and love it. I had the iPhone 8 before and it’s a HUGE upgrade. I’ll have the iPhone 13 for a very long time. I didn’t get the 13 mini because it’s the same size as the 8 and I wanted a bigger display. But it all comes down to what you like best. Great video, have a happy holiday everyone
@@_Ace._ but they aren’t behind samsung. Samsung have more features but specs does not make a better phone. Samsung are still miles behind apple in GPU, app quality, video and updates. So while samsung is better in some areas apple are ahead in others. Samsung camera is still awful for shutter lag which makes it unusable if you are taking photos of anything worth while…taking photos of flowers isn’t what people use their camera for
@@_Ace._ Samsung’s ecosystem is very good and works outside of just phones/tablets/watches due to them doing fridges e.t.c but the ecosystem while it syncs well doesn’t do what the apple ecosystem does. For one their smart watches are simply not near Apple Watch level and for most part their tablets aren’t nearly as good as iPads. So while you can say their phones are better in many areas as a whole their ecosystem does not produce better products. Apple devices are used more by professionals than anybody else. Certainly when it comes to video and creators.
@@_Ace._ i had the s21 ultra and 12 pro max and body to body the camera was very similar. Ultra slightly better for stills but for point and shoot the iphone is the better option. Both have their pros and cons. It’s all about preference at the end of the day. Glad you found what is best for you but overall both are better than the other in different areas. It all depends on the areas which are important many enjoy the iphone due to how it works with all their others devices and use an Apple Watch. App quality is important to me and social media apps are simply more enjoyable on IOS. As i said depends on your main needs for a phone. Most flagships camera wise are great
Don’t get me wrong, the upgrades are great. I actually like the adaptive refresh rate more than the ability to go up to 120hz. But other than that single feature, yes it’s the same phone. I also really like the Starlight color.

It's literally the same phone as previous one, but yeah after getting a lot of bug on my s20+ im going to change to the i phone, imo maybe next year more worth it. Still the color on i phone 13 tho 🔥.

Coming from a base 64gb Xs, I appreciate all the changes. Especially having the the Pro and Pro Max have all the same features cause the max is too big for me but always had the better camera, even if ever so slightly.
Honestly I'm surprised Theo were still putting out iPhones with 64 gigs back then. I'm also surprised that with everyon these phones are doing that 128gb is the current minimum. Should come with 256gb as the standard.

Bought my 13 Pro today. I got the regular 12 last year because I felt that was all I needed. Nope. 120 Hz adaptive refresh rate and better battery life was literally all I was waiting for. Worth it.

It’s so annoying when every year people complain about “it’s the same iPhone” when no other company get any crap for incremental updates. The nature of phones is that not every one is going to be wildly different than the last one. That’s why hardly anyone upgrades their phone every year, it’s not an Apple thing, it’s just a tech thing.

Upgrading from a 12 Pro Max and it’s still a huge change! Cinematic mode and macro mode are awesome but I think the biggest change is the 120hz display refresh rate, it’s awesome!

Hi Justine-I have an iPhone 12 Pro Max which I really like, but one negative is that the telephoto lens sucks (pardon my French). When you go from a 0.5 to a 1.0 setting when filming 4K 60fps, there's an immediate degradation in quality. You don't necessarily notice it as you're filming but you certainly notice it when editing. What is your assessment of the iPhone 13 Pro Max when using the telephoto and filming 4K 60fps. Thanks!

@yonathan winarto the phones of the iPhone 13 pro camera are just soo bad it doesn't even match to Xiaomi or even cheaper android phones. Most andriod phones can do all of these things. PRORES on Apple phones VS HEIF on android which has been there on andriod phones already also having 120 HZ but no fast charging. That's only the beginning!! They are also cheating you out of your money. For this price I can buy a better andriod phone faster charging which charges in 15 mins probably and get a better camera with extra features . I had the the iPhone 3GS the third iteration of the iPhone and my dad also had the iPhone 4 now he has the iPhone 5 or 6 but after keeping the iPhone 3GS putting custom firmware and seeing that it could do much more than Apples own software and it suddenly died then my dad got a new phone which at the time was an Android for me and that was the OnePlus two which was year's ahead of Apple at that time then I upgraded to the OnePlus 5T but once this phone got no more updates I got a new phone now called Poco.

It’s not about upgrading every year some people want the best of the best and Apple hasn’t been offering it they are giving you things two years later. So your phone feels four years behind Samsung after 2 years. Also that smaller notch is watch budget Android phones had 3 years ago so just looks cheap to me. better is a very generic term in the case of iPhone, the better in this case is tiny

@@chrisak49 I disagree, the improvements on Samsung and other Android phones are far more compared to their previous iteration to deserve an upgrade compared to an iPhone upgrade. Samsung still sucks as do most of the other Android phones though in terms of longevity. I think Apple is in some serious trouble in terms of innovation though. They don't want to copy Samsung or other manufacterer's concepts so that they can keep pretending that they're still the leader in innovation but I believe they've lost that position.
You should make a behind the scenes or even a shorts channel and call it “iJustine Pro” 😅🤣

I just got the iPhone 13 standard and love it. I had the iPhone 8 before and it’s a HUGE upgrade. I’ll have the iPhone 13 for a very long time. I didn’t get the 13 mini because it’s the same size as the 8 and I wanted a bigger display. But it all comes down to what you like best. Great video, have a happy holiday everyone

@@_Ace._ but they aren’t behind samsung. Samsung have more features but specs does not make a better phone. Samsung are still miles behind apple in GPU, app quality, video and updates. So while samsung is better in some areas apple are ahead in others. Samsung camera is still awful for shutter lag which makes it unusable if you are taking photos of anything worth while…taking photos of flowers isn’t what people use their camera for
@@_Ace._ Samsung’s ecosystem is very good and works outside of just phones/tablets/watches due to them doing fridges e.t.c but the ecosystem while it syncs well doesn’t do what the apple ecosystem does. For one their smart watches are simply not near Apple Watch level and for most part their tablets aren’t nearly as good as iPads. So while you can say their phones are better in many areas as a whole their ecosystem does not produce better products. Apple devices are used more by professionals than anybody else. Certainly when it comes to video and creators.
@@_Ace._ i had the s21 ultra and 12 pro max and body to body the camera was very similar. Ultra slightly better for stills but for point and shoot the iphone is the better option. Both have their pros and cons. It’s all about preference at the end of the day. Glad you found what is best for you but overall both are better than the other in different areas. It all depends on the areas which are important many enjoy the iphone due to how it works with all their others devices and use an Apple Watch. App quality is important to me and social media apps are simply more enjoyable on IOS. As i said depends on your main needs for a phone. Most flagships camera wise are great

Don’t get me wrong, the upgrades are great. I actually like the adaptive refresh rate more than the ability to go up to 120hz. But other than that single feature, yes it’s the same phone. I also really like the Starlight color.

Bought my 13 Pro today. I got the regular 12 last year because I felt that was all I needed. Nope. 120 Hz adaptive refresh rate and better battery life was literally all I was waiting for. Worth it.

It’s so annoying when every year people complain about “it’s the same iPhone” when no other company get any crap for incremental updates. The nature of phones is that not every one is going to be wildly different than the last one. That’s why hardly anyone upgrades their phone every year, it’s not an Apple thing, it’s just a tech thing.

Upgrading from a 12 Pro Max and it’s still a huge change! Cinematic mode and macro mode are awesome but I think the biggest change is the 120hz display refresh rate, it’s awesome!

Hi Justine-I have an iPhone 12 Pro Max which I really like, but one negative is that the telephoto lens sucks (pardon my French). When you go from a 0.5 to a 1.0 setting when filming 4K 60fps, there's an immediate degradation in quality. You don't necessarily notice it as you're filming but you certainly notice it when editing. What is your assessment of the iPhone 13 Pro Max when using the telephoto and filming 4K 60fps. Thanks!

I even laughed reacting how you read those negative comments about the notch and those who make meme about no difference between 12 and 13, what most people don’t understand is that most people don’t change their iPhone every year, so I guess this iPhone 13 is for those who plan to upgrade their 2018 or earlier iPhones. About the notch, I still don’t understand why people complain about iPhone notch, which I’m sure these most people are Android users who don’t even use iPhone… for me personally the iPhone notch is how people see “oh, that’s an iPhone”, imagine those Android smartphones manufacturers have almost identical physical body, they lose their identity.. so, Apple only makes it smaller to 20% and it still exists until today in 2021… why not?

I had the the iPhone 3GS the third iteration of the iPhone and my dad also had the iPhone 4 now he has the iPhone 5 or 6 but after keeping the iPhone 3GS putting custom firmware and seeing that it could do much more than Apples own software and it suddenly died then my dad got a new phone which at the time was an Android for me and that was the OnePlus two which was year's ahead of Apple at that time then I upgraded to the OnePlus 5T but once this phone got no more updates I got a new phone now called Poco.
