I’m glad you’re doing well now and that you’re still with us. I, unfortunately, lost my husband unexpectedly due to a PE a couple years ago. He wasn’t sure why his knee was hurting and then said he had gone to the gym and thought it was because of that. He didn’t have any redness or swelling. The next day, when he went to drop our baby off before work, he called me saying he was having a panic attack and I ended up being his first responder. I lost my husband that day and he was only 33 years old. Our baby had just turned 2. Don’t ignore the signs your body is showing you. Don’t hesitate to get care because it could be the end for you.

@@hellokittydimaggio yes, I check my patients for positive Homan’s sign but my husband had been working out and playing sports so when I asked him about it, he brushed it off relating it to those possibilities. He had never complained about anything before. He was in law enforcement and on his feet all day. It just came out of nowhere.

@@S212S2 thank you very much. It is an unfathomable loss but each day I remind him of something positive related to his father’s memory so he has less room for negative thoughts. He grieves him in his own way but we talk about him and that’s what’s important/key to helping us cope with our loss. Thank you for your positivity. I wish you and your little one lots of joy.

I also have had it twice. As odd as it might sound it is actually good that it made it to the lungs. If it got stuck where it splits in the Y on the way to the lungs it is extremely dangerous. They are no joke.
The thought of blood thinners is scary at first. The most common issue is that you will have to make sure to keep pressure on a wound until it clots. You also need to be cautious doing activities where you could fall hard. Don’t do them or be really careful.

Hey Justine, I’ve also had a PE when I was 21. Please keep in mind that you have an increased risk of reoccurring thrombosis now. I’m glad you’re not taking your flight because my doctor strictly forbid any flying for at least six months after my PE. I totally get that you don’t like needles but when you come off the blood thinners, please consider injecting blood thinners just before and after any flights you take. It’s been 5 years for me now and once in a while I can feel where my PE was because I think 1/3 of people develop a little bit of scar tissue in their lunges. Glad you’re ok, roughly every fourth person doesn’t survive a PE.

@@TechTherapyGuy it should be interesting to you that these clots have been happening at alarming rates since the jab, yet apparently it isn't, the fact that you list a bunch of possible causes but omit the jab as a possible cause, gives me an eery feeling of unease, and it's not just you but MANY people who seem to be simultaneously hypnotized into looking the other way, in total denial of the elephant in the room. I never imagined that humanity had this creepy side, it's like being in the real life twilight zone, scary.
Today I had a conversation about this precise subject, I was told that a population that has been made fearful of a perceived threat can be manipulated into the most absurd patterns of behaviour, if they have been persuaded that those behaviors can help protect them. I totally agreed.

Your sister is a total hero and you’re lucky that the drs/ emergency room took you seriously and continued to listen when you started having pain after the procedure. My mom had a stroke and the hospital pushed her out of the ICU less than 24 hours later and out of the hospital to a rehab facility less than 3 days after having the stroke. They kept having the doctor talk to my mom about what was going on rather than my dad or myself even though she def was having cognitive issues. I had to insist on speaking to one of the stroke/cardiac nurses while my mom was physically being discharged to find out what medications she was on and even a remote idea of where the clot was etc. It def made me less trusting of the hospital/medical system so it’s nice to see that there are at least some medical professionals that listen and are still concerned about patient care...

Try focussing on getting to trust yourself again in that manner, as I believe it might reduce the anxiety for a great part if you manage to see that your body -is- always on your side, and like you said, you could feel something was wrong.
