  • When Casio have decided to homage the most famous work of Gerald Genta, the CasiOak went on to become an icon. Have you ever wondered what a Genta designed homage of Casio's most famous watch would look like?
Yo can buy the UniDesign model one here: unidesignwatch...

That's a really nice watch 😍 and different from other integrated bracelet watches. Too many look like an OysterQuartz. Which is fine! The OysterQuartz is iconic and geniunly beautiful, but there are only so many clones we can see.
Yes, I do have one of those clones. I have a PRX, and I love it.

Funny how it comes together to look like a Santos from Earth-3

Interesting watch, not for me, especially at this price range, but a good job. Thanks for the review.

Since I had seen this design come by on social media I knew the maker is ambitious, but I was unaware of the direct Santos comparison. Impressive claims, yet I must admit that while it looks fine, especially the case looks good, I do not necessarily fully 'receive' the top level finishing from what I see of the dial. That doesn't mean it isn't there, but perhaps requires another level of photography and indeed that direct comparison, but it could also be that despite many quirky touches, the intricacy of detailing doesn't scream of the neatness of finish. I like this approach to watches: squared integrated bracelet. Yet, although I can appreciate this design, it isn't for me. It's quite bold, the double arrows and 12 are quite loud, the dial texture is clearly deliberately coarse, and this is in keeping with the muscularity of the casing. The date window I do find detracts from the overall look. But what we then end up with comes across to me as a attention-demanding quirky sports watch, which just isn't my style. I'm also not wild about the typography clashing with that style. In fact, the dial might have benefitted from a logo instead. It's clearly outspoken and comes from a place of high ideals. For those into this design, you'd be hard pressed to find a true alternative, and that's great in its own right. As a sports watch, I'm glad there is a svelte butterfly clasp, but as you rightly point out, halflinks I would consider essential and seems a bit of an oversight at the price.

I completely agree the dial is a love/hate proposition and I have to actually applaud Tony for doing something different. Very interesting observation about the logo (thought about mantioning it myself, but felt it would've been too subjective), especially when the logo etched into the crown is quite unique.
All in all you are, again, right on spot: this is an uncompromising design whose strengths would not appeal to everyone and that's commendable for a first effort. These are the types of microbrands that deserve success!

Thank you for watching! I believe this is a good deal for those residing in the USA, but taxes make it a bit too expensive for the Europeans.

This more of a Casio Royale homeged by Genta, but those similar hands are bit confusing, especially in the dark. Plus all the problems an integrated bracelet watch can have in fitting. And then, there's the price... Pity for a watch that could be an alternative in this category of watches.
As always, thanks for the review on another brand not showing everywhere. Cheers Tony.
PS How lovely misalighed marker at 6... where it shows more!

Whaat? You made me rewatch the video - no misaligned marker, it would be really easy to spot because of the textured dial!...
To be honest, I have no clue about Casio watches 😂 Will have to update the title 😂
      Thank you, Stavros!

@@watchyawantCorrect if i'm wrong, but isn't the marker tilted slightly to the left (anti-clockwise)? Not that it "shouts" but i rewatched the vid too... just when it started!

Yeah, it's a very appropriate comparaison. It certainly is a bit more daring than the European watch and it certainly has got its own strengths.
