I totally Disagree. For my current daily action FPV cams, I own (4) DJI Action 2's and (2) GoPRO 11 Black Mini's. I have been flying intense hardcore FPV since 2017 and these are the best FPV action cams that I have ever used. The new DJI Action 2 has 128gb built-in. I use these cameras for Pro Video shoots and they are amazing. I also own the DJI Osmo Action 4 for longer non acrobatic smooth footage. I think we live in the best time ever for action cams compatible with our FPV hobby. The DJI Action 2 only weighs 54g. I love all your content and I'm a big fan. On this topic, I disagree with you.
What about RunCam Thumb Pro 4K MINI Action FPV Motion Drone Camera Bulit-in Gyro 4k 30fps 2.7K 6 Ofps ND Filter Remote Control? On ali with 3xND filters and 128GB SD card costs aboud 110 euro
THIS!! I fly a 2” micro almost exclusively and have a RunCam Thumb Pro on it, AUW 104g, plenty of hard crashes with no damage except lenses. The quality for the size and weight is amazing. Wouldn’t run it on anything over 3” though, then it might break easier.
o3 films really good for what it is, I hope next gen is on the same level as a go pro. I think the main development should be internal recording quality
DJI O4 air unit camera will be the same or similar to Action 4 with 1/1.3 (0.77”) vs DJI O3’s 1/1.7 (0.59”) sized sensor. The O4 will gather more light in shaded areas preserving details, unlike O3 which I think is too dark. For reference GoPro’s sensor is 1/1.9 (0.53”) yet they have been able to show more detail from the shadows than O3. Instead of improving the O3 to match GoPro, DJI ditched that sensor entirely for O4 to leap over GoPro.
@@FPVBites And the difference big enough to justify carrying a huge air brake on the plane, mess up mAh/km, or agility of your quad? Low light performance could be better, I agree. Nut for this rare cases a Gopro or Insta Ace Pro will be ok 😀.

Plus it is likely to get destroyed in a crash compared to an action cam. As I said above, my pick for a cheap sessions 5 form factor alternative is the Caddx Walnut.
I completely agree that there are no good high end lightweight camera's, Im hoping the dji o4 will provide good enough footage without costing too much.

I agree. My opinion too, most often it's the craftsmanship and not the technology itself that’s lacking. I myself would love to put a Super-8 on an fpv if I could. But there I can agree they’re still a bit too heavy and bulky.

The size is 50 x 84 x 149 mm and the weight is about 400 grams. It’s less than most batteries on a five or seven inch quad. Super-8 is Super-Cool and nobody’s done it. 18/24 fps -> swoosh!
@@CRO-dr4si bro did you know that on thos old 3ccd camcorders the RCA out plugs (the yellow one) can be soldered to the video and ground of the vtx and like zero delay with an analogue VTX. I'm supposed noone has ever done it before. I've been meaning to do it but the stars hasn't aligned yet. Maybe they will for you
To add to @GeorgeCee comments, the upcoming DJI 04 air unit that should be released later this year, will have the Osmo action 4 sensor which in my opinion is better than the current hero 12. Can’t wait!
Next, lets talk about the lack of good analog fpv cameras for fixed with WITHOUT a flight controller. All I want is my voltage on the OSD, wityh a VSense pin. It seems some of the more expensive Foxeer cameras are the only option anymore, and they are becoming more costly and less available all the time now.
Hi! I hope like you for a new session 5, but in my opinion the runcam thumb pro v2 is waaaay better than the peanut. I always use thumb pro for my 3.5 inches drones and it is perfect also for cinematic in my opinion. I have some videos on my channel. You just need the right 3d printed mount and the right nd filter on it.
The only alternative I see to the Caddx Peanut is the RunCam 6 (well at least for planes with it's long but low profile), but nobody seems to be reviewing it. In the past when a new camera came out, so many youtubers received a copy and reviewed it.
The Peanut is the Insta 360 Go. The version 2 is the one that records in 2.5k. (2.7k? I'm not sure .) There's the Thumb from Hawkeye, if I'm not mistaken... The version 2 seems better than the first one, but I don't really know either... Yeah, difficult spot, Pawel. 😕 Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
These were my exact thoughts recent!!!! We have the technology to make a super amazing fpv camera but the fact is that no one really cares.. At least no one with the money and resources to get it done
The closest to session 5 updated is Caddx Walnut. Not GoPro quality but good enough and plays really nice with Gyroflow for only $115. Biggest complaint is battery life which does suck but power it from your lipo with balance lead to USB-C cable and not a problem. my 7th thumb pro was the last one i buy. the video is fine for me..they last a couple months and break/i dont even hardly ever crash

My GoPro Hero 11 Mini is awesome for fpv. Its lighter then a full size GoPro but doesn't sacrifice image quality
mini 11 works ok for me, much nicer image to runcam 5 orange imho
Runcam looks fine to me. For going cheaper, I think dashcams could be good because they are small, often no internal battery and have loop record.

Poor dynamic range. Gopro or action4 have much better DR and Image quality

I am happy with my Runcam Thumb Pro 4k wide. Just 16 grams and it does 4k 30fps recording pretty decent. Use ND filters and you're good
