I’m a little surprised that we haven’t at least seen a remaster of Punch out Wii. It would be a somewhat easy way to test the public’s appetite for the franchise
There was an HD version released in China on the Nvidia Shield (still surprising Nintendo let Nvidia do that with Punch-Out, Twilight Princess, and a couple others), but it seems it’s doomed to stay in just China.
I never liked Nintendo's whole "We need a gimmick to release a new game in a long dead franchise series" thing they do. That's the reason we haven't had a true new F-Zero in two decades and that's bullcrap at this point because A NEW F-ZERO OR PUNCH-OUT!!! SHOULD BE THE GIMMICK!!!!
I know I'm. The minority here but I don't think there is anything negative about the stereotypes. Each character was made with love, with great attention to detail for each character. Now yes some people would complain no matter what they do But most people would see the creator imtent.
Maybe it's your fault for revealing The sailor Moon Manga lol. I'm kidding but I forget the amount that Nintendo had to pay or is it true that they just bought the rights to sailor Moon which would be even more hilarious
@bluebaron6858 supposedly. There's a follow-up video on this channel and there's a long list of reasons why we haven't gotten a sequel. One of which was The sailor Moon out of bounds discovery. And I really liked sheesez reaction to reading that lol.
Punch Out Wii is probably my favorite Retro Revival of all time alongside with Sin And Punishment: Star Succesor. Also is on my top 3 Wii Games of all time, I love it to death ❤
I feel like we're finally getting to the point as a society where people are getting tired of being so "politically correct" and having to walk on eggshells all the time. It's exhausting and makes interactions with people miserable. That's not to say we should deliberately go out of our way to offend people, but it's good to laugh at ourselves every once in a while, and the cultural stereotypes in Punch-Out excelled at that. They never felt malicious, they were just funny. A sanitized, culturally sensituve Punch-Out isn't a game I'm interested in playing, personally. As an Appalachian, I'd be over the moon excited if we got a hillbilly stereotype in Punch-Out, lol. Give me a boxer named Glenn Cestuous, that would be hilarious.
To be honest I am actually want to “offend” people on purpose, simply because being “offended” has lost ALL meaning now, not to mention it’s amusing to troll the over-sensitive people.
sad to say but I do think thers more validity to the "doesnt make enough money" claims. Punch Out!! 1 sold 2 mill on the NES which is great but then Super punch out sold less. and then Punch Out!! for the Wii did sell 1 million but that is one of the lowest selling for nintnedo franchises on the wii sadly... pretty much every franchise beats it
So YOU'RE the one keeping us from getting a new SF!! It probably is just a matter of respect to the guy behind the original titles as it's both a legacy and smaller franchise, but, seriously, I absolutely wouldn't be surprised if someone at Nintendo could foresee a firestorm over the diversity being "wrong" since everyone in the Punch-Out series is a charicature and not a character.
I remember hearing something about how the Donkey Kong match in Punch Out was originally going to be versus Peach, but they changed it mid development. ...with this in mind, I would actually like to see a "Punch-out: Women's League" game with all brand new opponents. That would be enough to make a new game stand out, wouldn't you say? And with a brand new set of opponents, they don't have to worry about bringing back the old stereotypes.
As a viewer, the tone of this video seems to imply to me that there is some sort of personal 'beef' between Shesez and Imran Khan. I don't understand why what Khan said was a "lie." Disney of Japan may very well have fought Sora's inclusion in Smash for a long time but eventually changed their mind or Disney global made them accept Sora's inclusion. Things change over time, and it seems very odd to accuse him of lying just because he was wrong on one thing.
I disagree. Sora's an example, but Kahn's entire schtick for Punch-Out feels like a 40 year old's version of the recess "My uncle works at Nintendo as said-" type lie.
I don't get why you think that when he shows the clip and goes over why that was a scummy thing to do. If you're a journalist and you bluntly state something as fact then go on to NOT address it when people ask, and especially later if new information comes out and proves that statement entirely wrong then yes that is a journalist scuffing their reputation since they've shown they're willing to make something up and then not provide any further back up to the claim. Just because it was something he blurted out on a podcast and wasn't a dedicated article he wrote doesn't make it any less bad for his reputation or the type of profession he has.
@jsmith1111-n5i Everything is racist to westerners. Hence why Nintendo made Rusty's Real Deal Baseball a self-depreciating Japanese stereotype, but they had to censor his character design in America so they wouldn't get canceled for being racist against themselves.
@@kidcrumpetz2689 It's not. Some people just see _anything_ that references another race and automatically call it racist these days. (Like when Mario got a sombrero and started dancing in Mario Odyssey.) The Devs even put a character in the Wii Punch-Out to reference themselves, it's all done in good fun.
In my opinion, if you also make a stereotype of yourself in the process it's all fine. Punch-Out for Wii had both a Canadian and Japanese boxer, to "represent" both Next Level Games and Nintendo.

Also admitting to getting someone drunk to get them to spill potentially sensitive info is flagrantly unethical
Punch Out is a top 5 Wii game for me

If Street Fighter gets to keep all their classic characters I don't see why I Punch Out can't
Happy new Year, looking forward to all the new content from your channels!

Love the open minded approach to all your vids. Always a good start to the day when I have shesez news to look forward to. 😁
Maybe it's your fault for revealing The sailor Moon Manga lol. I'm kidding but I forget the amount that Nintendo had to pay or is it true that they just bought the rights to sailor Moon which would be even more hilarious

Saying Metroid isn't getting games when Prime 4 is coming out later this year
It seems really weird that a random employee from Next Level Games would be privy to executive decision making like that. I don't know if I buy it.

Oh snap!
Never trust a journalist who's shown they're untrustworthy.
Top 3 Wii game love punch out, nes version is also amazing, super is just okay for me, couldn’t really figure it out
The spiritual successor to punch out is arms. Just sayin.
They're nothing alike
They're not actually that comparable when you get into it.
Both are good, and it'd be nice if both could exist.
Definitely not true
Stop trying to make Arms a thing, it's not going to happen.
@@diegomedina9637arms isn’t a thing but it’s pretty fun ngl

Yeah, the tone is way off. He could have framed it as skepticism, but instead it’s personal and malicious.
