actually pamela jelimo,the 18 year old kenyan,who won the 2008 olympics,was even faster then semenya! there were a few suspicions there as well.and i agree jarmila kratochvilova looked every bit as masculine as caster,and every bit as muscular,so did maria mutola,and many of the russians.a lot of soviet athletes of the 70's and 80's looked suspiciously masculine.tatiana kazankina springs to mind.mutola has a voice as deep as semenya.why all the fuss?

As protections for natal women erode in favor of “gender-based” protections, please remember who’s being protected … and who’s being left behind… What this is going to create over the next generation is force natal women to go 'Performance Enhanced Drug' crazy, so at to keep up... But, to complicate things more, we also can't forget that some transgender female athletes would have been physically male at some point, but be on hormones now. Not fair to put her with men athletes if she is taking estrogen.

She looks like a perfectly normal female athlete here. Some women have a masculine physique, which is usually beneficial to those women if they pursue sports. Same is true fur ballet dancers. Considered the very definition of feminine delicacy, many of the best ballerinas are superior because they have more masculine shapes, which gives them an advantage in terms of executing ballet moves (flat chests, muscular legs, flat back). normal is relative. one could be an XX woman chromosomally but still have active SRY region. one could also be XXY...you need to realize there are a lot of genetic factors at play in determining sex traits, so there are invariably a number of people for whom sex traits differ slightly from the norm.
