Update: So sad to see somebody who had come over so much diversity and inspire others, to fall so low with this murder charge of killing his girlfriend.

400m competition format
The basics
The 400m starts with a staggered bend, with athletes running a full circuit of the track.
Competition format
The competition starts with heats. The number of heats and the number of athletes progressing to the next round depends on the number of athletes competing. In each heat the fastest athletes go through, as well as a set number of the fastest losers across all the heats. The following rounds run on the same format, until eight athletes are through to compete in the final.
The draw to determine which heat athletes run in is decided by their initial seedings (based on previous performance) for the first round, and then their performances after that. This ensures that the highest seeded athletes are not drawn in the same heat.
In the first round, an athlete's lane allocation is drawn by lot, and in subsequent rounds it is dependent on their performance. The highest-seeded athletes are drawn in the centre lanes.
Keys to success
In sprint races, the time separating athletes can be as little as one hundredth of a second, requiring a photo finish. A good start is crucial, as is technique while running and the quality of the finish. The winning athletes must be relaxed but perfectly focused on their race.
Breaking the rules
The most dramatic error for spectators, and arguably the most cruel for athletes, is the false start. Once in the set position on the blocks, any athlete moves off the starting blocks either before the gun has fired or within 0.10 sec of the gun firing is disqualified. Athletes can also be penalised for running out of their lane or obstructing another athlete. - Спорт
It's always fun to click on videos like these knowing damn well that the comments will be pointing in a different direction..
Same🤣🤣
wow he killed it
I really liked this guy. It's a shame he did kill his girlfriend. Guilty or innocent, he will never be viewed the same.
Its also a shame for her
You didn’t like this guy, you liked your idea of him. In actuality, he’s a shitstain on the world.
He was found GUILTY.
He is a vivid example of the saying ' FROM FAME TO SHAME'
This was the Standard Olympic games he ran in, not the paralympics which followed.
Why
I don't think he should have been allowed. Those attachments give him an unfair advantage.
@@ddobry21 i mean its not really an advantage to not have legs as a runner.
@@ddobry21 weren't they banned just after?
@@ddobry21 are u crazy?
Couldn't run from the law.
Shoot, these puns are killing me.
Aw no, please don't get me started. I could shoot somebody!
😂😂
Killer run
Those little cars from the hammer throw are genius
You know, I saw this race a couple years ago, and I felt pretty inspired. Now I feel more so disappointment, betrayal, and a bit of disgust. It’s truly terrible what he did.
What does the race have to do with his personal life?
She probably felt more betrayal
@@JuanAntonioGarciaHeredia because he can never be viewed the same my guess
His accomplishments are amazing, and totally independent of his later actions.
@@JuanAntonioGarciaHeredia hes obviously not talking about the race with his last statements.
The other runners were faster cuz they thought Oscar was going to shoot them.
Kirani James exchanged name tags with Oscar, because he said "it is a great honour to run with Pistorius. He is somebody very special to me" That was then . . .
Human life >>> Olympic medal 🥉
He’ll be alright
When you get fame and lose fame instantly...
I mean he got even more fame really.
He is still famous, just for a completely different reason
@@stirlingarcher7972 that would be infamous lol
Well he probably got more famous really
@@sakariaskarlsson634 for what
So sad, he had so much potential

@@wolverinegonder9997 don't be so critical. He's trying to spread smiles and motivation in the world, while people like you are always bringing others down.
Oh Oscar, I can't believe what's happened. Just why?
Is he out of prison? He has been given a chance to start over, though it will be an uphill battle. People are, generally, not too forgiving of a murderer. He has family who love him and will help him make something of his life.
However one feels about the individual in question, the moment shown in this video is still a mark in history -- and a tantalizing hint for the promise of the future.
I guess you could say, he 'killed' it.
Why was he able to participate in the regular olympics rather than the paralympics?
He's being charged with the murder of his girlfriend shocking
An art teacher at my school once created a painting of Oscar Pistorius in 2011. He didn't know at that time that Pistorius would later be remembered as the disgraced Paralympian Oscar Pistorius.
Heartbreaking... sad story....
great thing is that never give up

Reeva Steenkamp??
What’s next? A guy with a propellor vs normal swimmers?
I guess we will see. but think about this, he killed her no matter how you tried to see it. it's not like she went to the bathroom and died or that bullets just flew in from outer space, pierced the door and killed her.
It´s way more complicated than that. You mentioned the downside, but on the other hand you could quote less mass to accelerate (lighter foot/leg), no fatigue of foot muscles, better efficiency because lack of inelastic deformation (cause by soft foot tissue etc.)
It´s not as easy as to say, he is disabled so he will always have a disadvantage compared to "complete" sprinters...
U guys are watching them, meanwhile I’m watching the toy cars on the field 1:47
Wtf...I thought he was going to win
He was so good
I don’t care about what happened next, he’s a legendary Runner
You don't care that he's a murderer? You have issues.
Lol the legend of Oscar Pistola.
He’s a shit runner mate... he has no legs
i care - wife
Wow forget hes murder just remember hes a runner?
Amazing buddy
incredible
He had a lot of testimony to make sure he didn’t have an unfair advantage. The tests showed he hadn’t. Unfortunately that can’t be said of this year’s Olympics, some things were definitely ver unfair to some athletes
I agree.......those spring blades obviously have an advantage, I wonder if they are lighter than my meat and bones?
Then why nobody made it after him ????

Never give up
Mind blowing👌
let this be a lesson to us all, never allow fame or fortune, allow you to think you are untouchable..
Well you can't really say he has an advantage with the spring from the legs because the other runners have calve muscles to compensate with that you know.
on the other hand he doesn't feel the exhaustion on muscles he doesn't have.
Funeral Giggle But then he's using his thighs extra is he not? But that is a good point. The advantage didn't pay off completely seeing as he isn't ultra successful.
Ochir Erkhembayar I don't know if he is using his thighs extra. My guess is not, in fact, I think he uses them less. Upper leg muscles are connected to lower leg muscles, therefore if half of those muscles are missing, I don't believe the same strain goes to the upper part. At this point is just guessing... I'm certain we will unfortunately see him "run" again when he finishes the ducky quack quack sentence he received.
Micro game
It’s crazy people think he has a advantage
He's got a glock of gold
Hope you have an amazing day brother.
me too
No matter what he inspired many people and gave hope to those who are physically disable. He proved that by hard work and determination you can reach the sky even if you are born without legs. He did not give himself excuses as many people do, even if they are healthy and beautiful. I really admire the guy and my prayers go for him now.
What about prayers for the family of the girl that he murdered?
I remember being so enamoured and in awe of him and his accomplishments at the Olympics and cheering him on as a real role model. Was heart broken when he killed his girlfriend and still really sad about it. Only he knows what really happened that night, although I don't believe he did it on purpose. I hope her family and him can find some semblance of peace.
I feel .. one of the basic requirements being a sprinter, .... is having legs.
he had rocket ships as legs, a little unfair.
Amazing
no mercy for the cripple murderer
Im pretty sure the prosthetics put loads of extra strain and pain on his upper legs.
only a little , they weigh a lot less than human legs and don require oxygen and blood to be pumped, they also dont build up lactic acid. So in someways its an advantage in the 400m where lactic acid and musle fatique are critical.
@@steviegbcool is it not uncomfortable on the stumps?
This is the most beautiful thing I've ever seen
respect
This guy was such an inspiration. Whatever happened to him? Is he at the Rio Games?
Thankfully,no hes not,he deserves to be in fucking jail for the rest of his useless life rn.
He killed his gf....he's in jail now
+Deea Andreea why? why he killed his gf
he found to be guilty for allegedly shot his gf
+Thomas McClusky well he was always short-tempered and apparently they had a heated argument and...yeah
4:29 Runner 2: "cant let the disabled dude beat me!!"
Chapter was there on his achievements and him in my 7th English. But now fate was not with him..
what were the minis for?
To my knowledge, he has not been sentenced yet. Do you have access to any information from some secret court..?
With these upgrades, they never stood a chance
I would think there would be a problem with how the prosthetic is attached to the legs after long runs. I would think there would be significant irratation after awhile at the point where they are attached.
They say he has an un fair advantage he has springs makes him go faster faster I don't get it. He has no legs
WTF is with the remote cars in the middle? It reminds me of a Brio train track...with it being surround by a track.
If you interesting in the seeing the Mini's in action: I took a video of the cars driving around the field

Cool.
impressive running..!! mechanics at its best !! ..
Great. Hats off.
So, I am in 8th grade and am the fastest 400m runner at my school. My coach puts me in 2 to 3 400m events (400m dash, 800m medley, and 1600 relay) every meet. My time right now is a 1:01, but I think I can break 1:00 by the end of the season (6 weeks left.) My breathing and lungs are completely fine after the 400m(I used to be a distance runner), just my legs begin burning and then I can't maintain my sprinting speed. Can anyone recommend a good training regimen to help me with my 400m troubles?
Such a pleasure to watch this man run.......so sad to think that in one second of bad judgement he threw his life away...........
One second in bad judgement?? He pulled a on two other people on two other occasions.. he was a psychopath
People that are capable of murdering their partner don’t just have bad judgment just for just 1 second. It was premeditated.
Octane
I´m sure you changed your way of seeing him as an example for your kids right?
well done
Beautiful 🌹
oooo god.... amazing performance
No surprise 'Chris Brown' was running in lane 6 next to Pistorius, it's probably who old Oscar got the idea of hurting his girlfriend from, just he took it to the next level....
Respect for technology increases when i see its uses like this
He did so well because he didnt have the extra 10-15 pounds on each leg to carry through the race. As for the murdering thing? ...not so well.
Man that was a great loss no wonder he lost his mind after that
Also those tiny little cars are so cute
superbbb
Is there any way back for oscar after his release? Is there a path in which he will be able to have a 2nd chance? Will the public be forgiving of him?
A debatable question for sure
As much he is a great player but sorry I(and most public) just have no sympathy for murderers.
he should have done Biathlon : run + shooting.
Very good
Who ix watching in 2019 ? .
Respect 🙏
You know hes a murderer right?
He was a legend untill he shot his girlfriend.
What did happen ?
Can u explain ?
He is still a legend, but a bad one at that.
i Agree with you mate
It's not about the tires it's about the engine
The blades give him 90% of the energy he puts in back. Real legs give back only 60%
Get over it. He came last in his heat, so he hardly gained an advantage from his blades as you seem to be suggesting. He wanted to compete on a par with non-amputees. I'm sure it was a very proud moment.
Where'd you get that bullshit statistic?
Haha then thats it
@@Quest4Six510 i can't verify his stats but your legs get tired and aren't as tensile as metal, so it's only logical that he has an advantage over runners with calves. As the calves need oxygen and get sore. While the metal legs don't, so i guess checkmate😅😅
I respect him as an athlete not as a human being
Just curious, did Oscar also compete in the parraolymics in London?. Or, once you compete in the regular Olympics, you wave your right to compete in the parralympics?.
Anyone know?
I believe he went and got 2 golds at the 2012 paralypics
Good
who else felt sad whenever he saw that leg
You could say he's so fast his legs feel...weightless..
Didn't this dude kill his girl?
Bless beo
very good great man
poor little tink-tink
how about we all wait for the trial
best runner as ever
