Yes, well worth another video of this interesting area. I love to hike like this myself.
Interesting travel to discover the countryside in Kosovo. Thanks Gabriel ! Nice evening. Greetings from France
This place is absolutely beautiful. Shout out to farit from Albania ,
So inspiring, I want to explore Kosovo.
Great people like our state! Its cool you should come too!
@ILOVEGAMING123 For me too ofc as an kosovar or albanian
Everything on so called Kosovo is Serbian med evil or new origin. Albanians dont have 1 bricks in our Serbian Kosovo. You can find Serbian monasteries protected from UNESCO, of our Serbian kings and rulers.
Fascinating!!
Thank you for the unique revealing contents..
KOSOVO looks good 👍love the video .Thanks for sharing bro ✌😁

I will pay you a visit on my next trip to Prizren. Greetings from the only Haitian in Kosovo.
Kosovo is an independent state and will always be. Thanks for this wonderful video of my most beautiful state. Together with our friends we are moving forward towards success. God bless this wonderful place. ❤️ thank you
Good joke.
It’s so interesting to see you blog and walk around the place I was born and grew up in. I’m from a village called Grncare which is right above Prizren you can hike up there. The view of Prizren is incredible. There’s also a couple of restaurants.
Cool. :)
It's awesome how you never seem jaded despite all the travelling you've done. I mean, I'm sure you have your moments, but travelling is intense and a few months on the road can really make you weary, but you wouldn't think it the way Gabe presents his vlogs
It's Serbian Orthodox monastery of Saint Arhangels. It was built in 1355. by Serbian tsar Stefan Dusan Nemanjic. It was demolished by the Turks in 1455, and Sinan Pasha built Sinan Pasha's mosque in the center of Prizren in 1615, from the remaining material. The entrance is on the opposite side. There are about 10 Serbian medieval churches in the town.
You mean Albanian byzantine churches that were converted by Serbs! Yup that's more like it.
@@fluz2222maybe in yours pseudohistory brain.
@drungarij no, not at all. ALBANIANS were Christianised way before Serbs did. So, how could these churches be Serbian?
@@fluz2222 my friend, the only monument that is Albanian in Kosovo is the monument to Bill Clinton and the fighters of the terrorist organization KLA
All other cultural monuments were built by Serbs, monasteries from the 12th to the 15th century.
No one is to blame for the fact that you failed to create any kind of state in the past and that the Serbs were culturally dominant.
Today, all you have to do is spout nonsense from the long-extinct Dardanians, Illyrians and other ancient tribes that have not existed for 2000+ years.
If those monasteries were yours, you wouldn't have demolished and burned them in 1999 and 2004.
You are ridiculous with lame propaganda that you don't even believe yourself.
Great content as always!
Excellent, thanks.

Glad you made this follow-up video as it brings together this exploration and gives us some context as to what the journey entailed. I am surprised the ruins did not have at least a plaque denoting historical significance. Maybe ruins are common in this part of the world and are not as significant as we in the US think. Very enjoyable video Gabriel.

Catching up on Gabes videos (after getting triggered by his fore ray into geopolitics recently, although to be fair it was probably unintentional on his part) but got to be said this is pretty unbelievable! Sometimes you watch travel videos & think you’ve seen everything, but this is proper off the beaten track stuff! Loving it! 👍
im very happy you liked our country.Farewell from Kosovo,Peja
Hah...now that you've mentioned it, it totally has that northern California, southern Oregon vibe
Glad I've run into your channel. About 2-hours ago, I learned that I am a candidate for a university teaching position in Prizren through the U.S. Embassy in Kosovo. Your several videos have been my introduction to both the country and the city. Like you I am a big fan of traveling and exploring cultures. If you have any afterthoughts about Kosovo and the city of Prizren, I would welcome hearing about them. Most recently, I've lived and taught in Hungary (Budapest) and Korea (Daegu). Thanks and I'm happen to subscribe to your channel.
Cool, glad to hear it, thanks for subbing.
Nice music but especially in the beginning really beautiful to go with the spectacular scenery .
I was getting really nervous watching you get very close to those ledges .

Wow Gabriel! Some interesting sights 😀😎☀️
It’s interesting!
Balkans countries and Mediterranean countries have the same weather like northern California .
I have no idea about northern california but in kosovo hot days are very hard. There is a high humidity that makes it very hard for your body to cool down.
Feels like Appalachia.. I would travel across the world only to find myself at home again! Love it! Great work.
you have been pretty brave in Kosovo Gabriel. Good work mate
Brilliant to watch. Great one.👍😊🇮🇪🇺🇲

I am sure the walking up and down hills its a great exercise for you body, muskels and mind. Because these small cities with so many attractions don't have those small motorcycles for rent like in Meteora in Greece for example. I could get to know a lot of things in less time. Leave these suggestions there at the hotels and tourist office, who knows, in the future, someone will think about the next adventurers
Warm town ☕️👍
GABE all the way! 🛣️
Hi Gabriel, It definitely has a Northern California feel to its very rustic area outside the city limits. You can definitely walk for hours into another area such incredible mountain ranges are really spectacular.

Wonderful place but be careful not to be eaten by dogs and wolves. Thanks for Sharing Gabriel.
Kosova is a small country, with many small cities and endless villages,
Meaning dogs are used to seeing humans all the time and attacks are surprisingly rare even though we have many stray dogs here. I'm still scared of dogs hahah, but nothing ever happened

He tried to assimilate local catholics
Did he kill Catholic Albanians to built that on top of catholic church?
The ministry in the river was a dardanian Catholic Church

Hi Gabriel. The dogs in Kosovo don't understand English - just sayin'. Many thanks for the great work - Kosovo does indeed look like an interesting place to visit.

Thanks for visiting my homeland Gabriel , 🔥🇦🇱🇦🇱🇦🇱like to use red and black flag cause represents Albanian’s in general even though Kosova has a different one. ,,
Hello Gab, are planning going to NZ and Australia?
Definitely.
Gabriel I'm glad you visited Kosovo. to know from this country comes all European culture. the only country that has resisted for centuries wars, ROM, MACEDONIA, Othoman, this people here that belong to are the sons and daughters of the ancient Dardanians. from this people Rome also became London, .. with all that I am glad that you visited Kosovo ,, there you see the Respect tolerance and the generosity of the Albanians.
Legendary pseudohistory😂
10:49 Holy Archangels Monastery was built by Dušan emperor decision in 1341/1342. years, after the miraculous healing of the then incurable disease, through St. Michael, the healer and proven protector of Christian emperors. It's one of the most beautiful Serbian monasteries.
In my opinion Prizren is one of the most beautiful cities in Kosovo and Metohija and the main reason is that the city is rich with Serbian and Ottoman cultural, religious and monumental heritage.
Mr. Gabriel, I have followed your videos since you started visiting Serbia and I hope these vlogs will be good as well.
My advice is to visit Dragas and villages around Dragas (like Rapca, Radesa, Kukaljane, Brod, Restelica, Globocica). These villages belong to Gorani minority and you would be one of the first very popular vlogers to have visited these region. Dragas is about 30-35 km from Prizren. Greetings
Sure thing "serbian culture" it was all built by orthodox albanians ,just cause u ruled it doesnt mean it belongs to u now . Kosovo is independent and you'll never get it back

Gabriel I’m wondering if you have any advice regarding the Balkan states. My wife and I plan to be in Croatia in October and would like to see Serbia, and Bosnia, as well as perhaps Montenegro. Would you rent a vehicle in Croatia and drive to each of these countries or take a train etc? We could afford to have a car for 10-14 days no problem but I’m wondering what the hassle of crossing borders, parking, etc is like in your experience
I'm really not sure about that. I rented a car in Croatia, Serbia and Macedonia. But each time I only drove it in that country, I didn't take it across any borders. You would have to ask the rental car company if you were allowed to drive into other countries. Different companies might have different policies.
Such a shame about all those plastic bottles in the river....I hate to see this :(
Indeed. Living in Kosovo, I can say that the awareness is growing about the need to get a handle on plastic waste management/recycling.

I'd love to visit what is the best airport to fly into to get there do you think
Pristina.
@@GabrielTravelerVideos For Prizren it is Kukes airport that is closer then Pristina.
@@mendjelire8392 I would think there are better international flights into Pristina. Also Kukes is in Albania so then you would have to do another border crossing. Pristina isn't that far from Prizren, so there are lots of buses between the cities. But I haven't actually checked flights into Kukes, didn't even know there was an airport there so maybe it's a good place to fly, depending on where you're coming from.

Doesn't seem to be many people around in Kosovo.
Population decline and emigration, everybody leaving for work abroad
The country has about 1.9 Million people living in it (officially). Of which around 100k are living in the city of Prizren.
Actually, the population of Kosovo is growing quite rapidly despite the high emigration rate to places like Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Norway, and the US. There is also an internal migration from the regional cities to the capital city of Pristina. Check out this channel's video on Pristina, a very warm, friendly, and buzzing "small" capital.

Why do you put yourself in those unsafe predicaments. Those area you’ve been hiking seem pretty sketchy! Sometimes I question your judgment? It is worrisome watching you do some of these hikes! 🙄
What would you say is the main danger to him?
I agree with this assessment. At least be accompanied by a local guide during hikes, especially since you are filming while hiking. Kosovar cities and villages are absolutely safe, but since it is quite a hilly place where internet signal sometimes does not reach, you can get yourself in trouble going offroad carelessly.

For your information, Kosovo is still an integral part of the Republic of Serbia, so you cannot say that Kosovo borders Serbia. Only the name Kosovo has a meaning in Serbian. Kos is a species of bird in Serbian. There are many in Kosovo and there are also A place called Kosovo Polje, which is why Serbs call that territory Kosovo. And if you were smart and knowledgeable about the history of Kosovo and Metohija, you would know that Prizren was once the capital of Serbia and that the battle between Serbs and Turks who invaded Serbia. Every town and village in Kosovo also has a Serbian name, so you could not easily consider Kosovo as an independent state, if it is not yet, and especially if you are not from those areas and do not know what The Serbian people have gone through everything they are going through, exclusively because of the Albanians who live there, including America and the NATO organization.
