Great question. Upon a successfule backup (Restoration of your account), all of your tokens will be automatically available to all the devices you sync with. Your backup password is linked to your Cell number, which is linked to your tokens.
Why isn't there a option to "sync now"? - I have added a new account on my iphone, but it won't sync to my PC Authy app.
So Authy won't work with a website that doesn't originally offer 2fa correct?

hmm... I was unaware that you can add an authenticator as an extension to chrome.....although i don't use chrome, I just added a dummy account to understand it's use..( I used a generic authenticator, not Authy)..
I know this video is about AUTHY, however I don't want to assume thats what you're referring to... So here are a Few Questions for you so i can fully understand the issue:
1- Just To Verify, When you say "Default Method", you're referring to the QR Code method and the Manual method, correct?
2- It looks like there are multiple authenticator apps for people to choose from within chrome, which one did you install?
Douglas, I would also like to advise that The AUTHY extension for google Chrome is no-longer supported. Therefore I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend you look into proper removal of the AUTHY extension. They recommend to use the Desktop version and or the Mobile version of the Authy App. so if you do infact have the AUthy Extension, and you run into problems...it might be difficult to get support from the Authy team-members -- Check out the link below.

How do I generate a new code on authy? When I pasted the one I copied I was told it was not correct and that I should generate another. I just have one account which I just added today.
sounds like you did not do it fast enough. wait for another code to generate before you copy and paste.

Bro, which is better authentication app for facebook/twitter, Microsoft authenticator or authy? It will be very helpful, i already lost my one of facebook account to a hacker, at that time, i didn't know about 2 Factor Athentication. Now i know about it so i want to choose the best😁
Can't go wrong with authy.
The key thing to remember is to write ur passwords down on a piece of paper and keep it in a secure area...it's something that you wanna keep with your really important personal documents..that way you know always know where it is.
In addition, they have really great customer support....these guys respond to support tickets really quickly.
Although I say authy is the best.... whichever one you choose... always always always remember to write your backup password and codes on a piece of paper and put it somewhere safe.....I know I'm repeating myself but there are millions of people who don't do this and end up in trouble when they lose their phone or something similar.

What do when Authy gives you a 4 digit code. Where's the 6. Is that a key
the best way to change the token length is to install the authy Desktop Version.
When you do, .. do the following:
1. click Settings
2 Click Accounts
3. Choose the account that you would like to change
4. At the Bottom you will see "Token Length", where you can set the token length for that account
NOTE: *t I believe the token length MUST match the length for the online account you using 2FA for, otherwise it won't work.* For instance, if you have a faceBook account and the amount of digits it uses is 6, then you may not be able to change it to a different number...check with Authy Support on that, thougth
Why would I need to do a transfer to authy from my google authenticator instead of setting each account as new.
@Anjel, transferring you accounts is essentially creating a new one. You're disabling the 2FA and re-enabling it with AUthy.
Can you do one for newton? It seems impossible to navigate and their help chat is horrible
@Chintz, I won't be able to setup an account for Newton because i'm not a resident of Colombia. When I try to setup an account they're asking for KYC information. Sorry.
However, what i did notice is that when i started signing up. after I entered my cell-phone, my AUTHY app automatically received a code. ( meaning it automatically setup the "NewTon" account. )
This is because NewTon (like Gemini ) has an application that communicates DIRECTLY with AUTHY's API. Basically what NewTon did was send my cell phone number to AUTHY for AUTHY to verify that my cell phone number exists in their system..... Since it does, they (NewTon) automatically sync'd up my 2FA account....it should be similar for you. -- some companies do this as a convenience for their users so they can setup 2FA without much work.

@@wealthup2702 hi, thank you! Yes, it will not work on my older phone but I tried it on my newer phone and it picked up Newton right away like you said. I am in the USA now and trying to sign up for it is famn near impossible anyway...Canadian stuff is notoriously frustrating and 12 steps more than it has to be.
Is there any wallets that you know of where I don't need to send them my left arm in order to verify accounts? Which one is easier, that you know of?

I'm trying to link my discord with authy, but it keeps telling that the 6 digit code authy gave me isn't valid. Any advice on what to do?
I would check to see if you have another discord account on your Authy app; as you might be trying to sync using the wrong account.... as a precaution, DO NOT delete any accounts in your authy app until you figure out what the issue is and you have verified that the right discord account is sync'd, otherwise you risk losing access to discord.

i really did a stupid thing i deleted my discord account from authy before removing the 2-factor authentication from discord is there any way i can recover that deleted discord authy account?
First and Foremost, check to see if you have your Discord BackUP codes...if you do then you should be good to go. once you log in with your Discord account using your Discord backup codes, you can log in and reset your 2FA settings...
Other than that, this really depends on how The TechSupportTeam at Discord handles proving your Identity and if they have the ability to log into your Discord Account to disable Two-Factor-Authentication.. In this case I would highly recommend you reach out to Support for Discord to see what your options are for gaining access to your Discord account.

However What I would FIRST do is IMMEDIATELY contact Authy support. I say this because I know that when you initially delete and account in authy it takes a few hours for it to officially be removed from your phone... reach out to them NOW to see if they can revert that change...and to see what your other options are.

I would Attack BOTH Discord Support AND Authy Support at the same time if you haven't already....Neat trick That i use often...I normally try to get two different vendors to work together to try to solve the problem...so try to bridge both support teams together to see if they can come up with solution...let them know that you're in communication with the other Vendor ( i.e let Discord know that authy is working on the issue and let Authy know that discord is working it)...this gives the the notion that there IS something that can be done therefore Each side will likely be more incline to look further into it...its not guaranteed but its worth a shot....I Also say this because generally when people think of problems with 2FA, they immediately go to the "You're Screwed" phase and give up... the key thing here is to get them to WANT to look further into it... therefore, you GOTTA press them...almost annoy them so much to the point where they'll wanna figure something out just to get you outta their face.....customers do it to me all the time...its annoying but sometimes it works..
Step-1- contact BOTH Discord and Authy at the same time, get the ball rolling. Asking Authy if they can revert the change.
Step-2 try to find your Discord BackUp Codes in the meanTime.
Step-3 - Keep pressing both authy and Discord.

Hey Lee, I decided to reach out to Authy to further verify what I stated earlier. Here is what that told me regarding retrievingtokens that were accidentally deleted.
"In case you change your mind after setting one Authenticator token for deletion, and it was backed up, this will stay on Settings > Accounts for 48h, so you can restore/undelete it from there.
Only after the 48h have passed, the token will disappear from all your devices. Please note that if you want them to disappear immediately, you will need to follow the deletion steps for each device if you have more than one."
@@wealthup2702Thanks, and I reached out to both authy and discord tbh and wat authy said was they dont have the power to help me with that problem and then asked discord support and a bot replied if i had back up codes which I dont. Funny thing is that they also said they cant help me with the 2fa like y man its ur software right u can whatever so identify me or whatever and give me my account. Ngl I was on the verge of trying to hack into my own discord account at that point bt i cant do that either cz i aint no professional XD

Hello Vishnu. Yes Gemini has a different type of setup. here are the steps to get Authy to work with Gemini:
1- Log into Gemini. After logging in you will come to a page where the very first step is to initiate 2FA with Authy.
(You can’t use Gemini without taking this step. Once ready, click on the green “Get Started” button.
2- On the next page, you’ll start the first of three steps. The first is to choose your country and state of residence.
If Gemini operates in the area you selected, it will confirm and you can click “Continue.”
3- Next, enter your mobile phone number (the one associated with your Authy app).
4- Open you Authy app. You will find the Gemini token already there. Click on the Gemini logo to view your token.
5- View your Authy token number for Gemini. In this example, we are using the desktop version of the Authy App which allows you to copy the token without manually entering it if you prefer.
6- Now, enter that number into the field provided on the Gemini site. Click “Confirm.”
So based on the instructions, Gemini automatically associates(Syncs) your account based on your phone number.-- Meaning once you associate your phone number, the codes will automatically populate in your Authy Application ( no need to scan or put in any codes)

Vishnu, to my knowledge, you would not be able to add multiple "Gemini" accounts to a Single Authy account. There are 3 reasons for this.... (1) - For security purposes Your Authy Application can only be associated with ONE phone number. (2) - For security purposes Your Gemini account can only be associated with ONE phone number as well. (3) - For security purposes, Gemini will only be able to associate ONE account with the Authy-Account of the *same* phone number.
If you have multiple Gemini accounts, I have to assume that they each are associated with different phone numbers. That would mean that you will need multiple Authy-Accounts...and they will need to have phone numbers that matches the phone numbers for the Gemini accounts.
Vishnu, It looks like they (Gemini) force the 2FA setup process to be completed by using a phone number. Once that phone number is added to Gemini, *on the back end* it automatically associates your account with Authy; hence the reason why the codes automatically show up in Authy. It looks like Gemini *Specifically* chooses to use Authy as the 2FA application of choice for this reason. It automates the process of syncing accounts much quicker.
I can only assume that the reason they don't use Google Authenticator and apps a-like is because of this very reason.
How do u add manualy?
You will need to hit the three dots on the upper right hand of your authy app
click "Add account"
Then click "Enter Code Manually"
i dont recommend you do this manually as you increase the risk of entering a typo..the codes are generally very long.

1. On your Twitter app, tap on the hamburger menu button > Security and Privacy.
2. Go to Account > Security > Two-Factor Authentication.
3. Now, you’ll find three toggle options for SMS code, authentication app, and physical security key.
4. You can turn on one or more of these Twitter 2FA options as per your requirement.
5. If you enable the SMS code option, a web view will open where you need to verify your phone number.
6. Tap on Get Started. Then enter your Twitter password and tap on Verify.
7. Next, tap on Send Code to get a verification code on your phone. Enter the code on the next screen.
8. Now, Twitter will provide you a backup code that’ll help when you can’t get SMS for 2FA.
Save the backup code in a safe place for later use.

I have tried several a of these apps AND I I don t understand...Instagram requires a 6 númber code from any authentication app...Every auth.app where I signed in requires a qr code to scan...but if I don t have access to my Instagram account, how can I scan the fxxxxxing qr code?
