Check out a video called "choir finds amazing acoustics in hotel pool". Same song but it's performed by kids who pour their heart into it. Absolutely beautiful.
Honestly one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard!!! Especially performed by this choir. It's so powerful and gives me chills. Easily my top I've ever heard and performed.
+jason perez A little humility goes a long way, and until you demonstrate that that is true, I will trust my own ears. Personally, I performed this with a 750 voice choir with mixed professionals and amateur singers, very good, talented people and these people did just as good a job. Plus, you don't know the breakdown of the choir. In addition my good man, it was directed by Mark A. Miller himself, a good friend of mine and the alto part is not weakish. P.S. The word is 'Their' not 'There', how can I trust you when you don't know the proper use of words and you weren't alive even in the 90's?
It has the melody of a heroic Hollywood film. Imagine the tune played by the string section of an orchestra. The repeated call "even when, even when" reminds me of "The Call of Magic" theme from the Elder Scrolls: Morrowind video game.
My choir sang this song and it honestly sounds so similar to this although it had less than half the people. I had it stuck in my head so I had to listen to it here. So many memories.
Actually, it follows the composer's tempo marking almost exactly. There's a version here on youtube that the composer conducted himself and the tempo is very close to his.
Ok I've looked everywhere and can't find any sheet music for the violin stuff. Can someone please tell me where to find it, as I am a amateur violinist myself and really want to learn this piece.
I can't hear the extra instruments. Admittedly I have lost some hearing. In this case it doesn't bother me; the idea seems like gilding the lily. I like hearing a full choir of mature voices. Gives it more emotional power than a small choir or children's choir can mange.
thats Was great Just i think their sopranos could do much better because the altos were stronger and there oooo part Was a little weakish im Just trying to give good advice 😌
Alto presents just as many challenges as singing soprano does. The ability to sight read well really is a must. The octave itself has its own challenges because women's voices can be trained to go higher...but there is a limit on the lower octave. Each voice part is equally as challenging, there isn't one that's more difficult than the other, just as there isn't one single voice part more important than the other.
My choir sang that song once and the director told us that it was written on the wall of a concentration camp.... so beautiful!
+Caroline Vaughan The poem was written in a concentration camp. The music was written much later, in 2011-12.
Caroline Vaughan yea it was
My choir teacher said that too!
Personally, I read in one article that this story is a myth

@@miguelalmeida9131 WHAT?! SINCE WHEN DID JEWS NOT BELEIVE IN JESUS. I NO LONGER SUPPORT ISRAEL.
Beautiful. To think of the hatred that was present when this poem was written. We are blessed today to live a world that is moving towards peace.

This actually brought me to tears 😭
ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS. Our choir sings this but much more slowly which makes it even more haunting.
That was absolutely beautiful!! That song just gives me chills!
My choir is starting this song tomorrow. It's so beautiful. I can't wait.

Good lmao
I have sung it in The Great Auditorium in Ocean Grove, New Jersey.
Nice
I'm picking up loud crackling in the background. I wonder if it's my reception or the video.
This song wasnt written to be that fast paced. Great singing tho.
The composer's suggested tempo was 150 bpm...
Actually, it follows the composer's tempo marking almost exactly. There's a version here on youtube that the composer conducted himself and the tempo is very close to his.

sounded better by the pool

Try singing Bass it not a cake walk.
Daniel Kubacki Especially when you're a high Soprano

The composer was there, and he was okay with the tempo! :)
It's better to a little slow down
